"Critics who say that the optimistic utopia Star Trek depicted is now outmoded forget the cultural context that gave birth to it: Star Trek was not a manifestation of optimism when optimism was easy. Star Trek declared a hope for a future that nobody stuck in the present could believe in. For all our struggles today, we haven’t outgrown the need for stories like Star Trek. We need tales of optimism, of heroes, of courage and goodness now as much as we’ve ever needed them." -Thomas Marrone
That app would still have to interface with the game servers
But +1 on everything else you said, if you have been around PC gaming long enough and you still get angry over bugs and patch downtimes it's really time to grow up.
Er, in which part of my post did I say I get angry with bugs and patches.

I believe arcademaster was agreeing with you when you said, "... but it still makes me chuckle when some bang their fists and demand it now, but require it to have no bugs what so ever."
The Timezone thing says 4:00pm for Toronto, but the patch has already started?
Yup its 1 hours cooldown on each STF, my team ran through all 3 STFs back to back in under 30 minutes...then it was a boring 30 min wait for Cure to be available again.

Ok i hope someone can help me on this, i have asked a lot of people and no one could ever give a straight answear, With Season 6 coming out, Does that mean there's also new Episodes to play as well?

Aint there only 6 STF's and all have 1 hour cooldown ? think u can be happy if u get around 21. Seeing that STF's are made for 30 min play timeish.
While you are correct, you can however average an STF normal in 10-15 mins and an Elite in 20 mins. A good group could do an Elite in 13-15 mins.
However doing 35-40 in 7 hrs is possible if you mixed it between ground and space, but highly doubtful. You would need to average every one of them in around 10-11 mins doing 6 an hour. IMO to many variables and random crits to see that happening.

No new episodes - if you mean story episodes - have been announced as definite
there is a new ground Tholin invasion thing going on
There will be a old featured episode avail starting at 9pm for the Fri the 13th - running until Sat
Ok thank you so much for answearing that for me, I am a little bummed though cause i was hoping for some new story lines to follow, But i'm sure what ever new content we get it will be worth the wait.
I did play the Tholian mission on the Tribble test server, I thought it was pretty fun, Maybe some new STF's would be nice also!!;)
I will arrive home from work @ 3:45 pm EST, will fire up launcher and start the 1+GB download. The server will come up about 4:10pm EST, and I will play for about 90 mins until the major server crash and 5 hour Emergency maint. <Just Sayin'>

Unless of course the poster is that hacker who folks have complained about being able to one shot everything.

If you join a fleet, there are five new 5-man events and one 15-20 fleet action. there is the tholian event as mentioned asw ell. (note - you dont have to play with fleet mates to play any of these, just be in any fleet to get access to the mission).
each event is about 15 minutes long and have to fighting random enemy groups on the ground or space, often while protecting something. they are not stf's but they are somewhat similar.
i think a couple can be played while not in a fleet and you dont want to join any at all.
Huh, I wasn't around for the launch of the last seasons. Does Cryptic have a history of not telling anyone about when they're launching their equivalent of an expansion until they're in the process of launching said expansion? I read the post from dastahl that made it sound like it's something they might do if there's time with this account services update though to me it just seems strange to take a content package of this magnitude (for STO) so glibly. Is it just me?

My average would be about 35-40 stfs in that time period... Might need find some better teams
No this is not possible - definitely impossible for elite STF
Assuming that you mixed ground and space - one toon could do 6 in a hour max - of course you could switch to alts
The problem is that while 5 STF elites in 1 hour (35 in 7hr) is theoretically possible - everything - with every player would have to go right for 7 hrs straight - but in all practical senses no
even if it was the same elite group of players - the laws of human nature and the abilities of your body - would cause more and more errors/mistakes to be made as time went on - your hand/finger/eyes and even brain would begin to shut down or not respond the way they did at the beginning - so in human terms it is impossible
Really, I think someones nose is growing longer and longer!
Ignorance is bliss although just because you might not be able to do it as quickly as I can/people I normally team with there is an automatic assumption that it is impossible.

If you only play STF's on one character you would be correct but I have 15 and some others not many have a lot more than I do. Not all the time if you pug or do not have static groups will you have a full team of elite players... If they are really all synced up on knowing strategies and no breaks could do a possible 4 stfs in the time it takes you to do one if you are taking 30 minutes to do one. You can use multiple characters so over 7 hours if you have a really good static team its doable to do 5-6 per hour and then over 7 hours that is 35-40 stf's over that amount of time.
Honestly a really good Elite Team on normal mode can probally complete any STF within 5 minutes. Elite I would estimate between 8-12 minutes. It all comes down to how you spec, what combination of powers you are using, and the cohesion of the team you are on. Just one green person to STF's can result in a drastic outcome versus a full team of *True* Elite players. If they are taking you 30 minutes to do you still have some learning to do.
To be honest i think 7 hours is pretty short to be adding new content, If people arn't complaining about the down time it's about the C points to Zen conversion, I love the game i love spending time with the people i see everyday.
We all should be happy that STO is a MMO if it were a single player game it would sit in the pile of games i have now!;)
I love MMO players who want the best but ask for the least downtime possible.
You guys have NO understanding of how a game works.
We will ALL see what the patch is today when it is over. To complain and guess is... illogical.
No, but then neither again are consumers supposed to have an intimate understanding of the whiz-bang technology they consume. I'm going to say you probably don't have much of a comprehension (as most people don't) how your phone, tv, internet, power grid, sewage system, or anything else which you haven't personally involved yourself in the building and intimate working there of works. It's not your responsibility, niether is it the player's to want anything but what they want. Better content, less inconvenience, neither of which is illogical because there are always better, more reliable methods and technologies that cryptic could be using even if said technology and methods do not exist yet.
That's the cause of human technological innovation, and to complain that people want it is illogical.

It's really sad when the norm is all MMOs release major updates with a ton of known bugs
This is something that can't be help. You will NEVER be perfect, even if you stay in permanent beta status, because there are just some things that can ONLY be resolved under real-world circumstances.

That's the estimated end of the downtime. There's two timezone links in the first post. You clicked on the second one.
It said 9am for Toronto for me, and that's when it started.
Thank you!
No there won't be new episodes.
