I graduated Starfleet Academy in Dec 2010. My captain handles himself just like Kirk. So, as Im down on Starbases, I imagine my Captain hooking up with various women I encounter, in true Kirk style. I took pictures of the first time we meet, before I put on the Kirk charm, and scored with these ladies in a private suite on the starbase.
STO is my first MMO, so in the first few months I naively thought all these women were actual women. Fortunately I never actually talked to any of them. Just walked up to them, posed, snapped the picture, and went on my way. Even after I was informed 99% of "women" in the game were men behind the keyboard, I kept up the tradition just for fun. So these pictures are part of my career photo album, and when I look back and see these pictures as they pop up in my screensaver, my captain says to himself, yeah, I had her.
I didnt realize how many pictures I had taken till I added them all up in a file to upload.
So, since the forums are all sad and doom and gloom lately, I figured we could have a laugh at the expense of my STO imagination.
Viewing Rules:
1. If there is a male character close by, thats just coincidental, thats NOT my bag baby.
2. If you see more than one woman close by, then I believe its pronounced menage a trois.
3. Yeah, I scored with a few NPC too. What can I say, my captain is a Mimbo.

and i remember reading an article not long ago, don't remember the site, that it's currently closer to 50% because more games being designed to be more gender-neutral in game play and wider degrees of character costumization, to get away from the disproportioned "Amazon Barbie".

That's been my experience, anyway.
Personally, I don't really give a TRIBBLE what someone is, but my social interaction in this game is pretty much limited to STFs and trolling on DS9.
It's also been my experience that the people who really care about whether a player is male or female are in fact foreveralone basement dwellers, hoping to find the girl of their dreams on whatever nerdy game they're playing.
Just sayin'
Edit: Personally, I'm disappointed that I wasn't in any of those pictures. I would've found it pretty funny.
