Carrier Suggestion / Idea

Just a suggestion from a new carrier owner... When I launch my fighters (especially in the 15 person events on tribble), I have no idea if my fighters are still up or destroyed. What I would suggest (and like to see) is a small little box on either side of my monitor telling me how many fighters I have deployed and how many are still flying and how many have been destroyed (not cumulative but out of the six i'm able to have out a a time, how many are left).

I would love for this as well, a counter or having players names under the ship name, similar to how player ships display the player name, fleet and vessel name.

I've got the Atrox Carrier and the Heavy Escort Carrier. And yes i agree that a small Box showing some info on the deployed hangar crafts would be a good idea.
    It could look like this

    Hangar 1: 5/6
    Hangar 2: 2/4
So basicly showing the amount of craft deployed per hangarbay.

And perhaps a icon or a box around our hangar crafts. So that i know wich ones are mine.
Cause sometimes you might be grouped with multiple carriers and then it's definatly usefull to know wich ones are yours and how many you've got left.

Instead of a icon or box we could also perhaps be given the Option to Name our HangarBay Crafts so that in general we could name them Red Wing and then for every deployement of 2 or 3 crafts it would gain a Number 1 or 2.
Then the Box with the info could look like

    Red Wing 1: 2/3
    Red Wing 2: 1/3
    Blue Wing 1: 1/2
    Blue Wing 2: 2/2

It would definatly help . And make it a little easier to track our hangarcrafts so that we don't lose damage by over deploying wings . Since it takes sometime for fresh crafts to engage in combat when their being launched out of the bay.

This part is on Tribble right now... you can turn off friendly mines and fighters (along with the enemy ones, although that would be dumb) and you can have it so the target box only shows around your own mines and fighters.

I do agree, that a small info box (or an overlay on the launch icon that say x/max # (eg 3/6)) would be great.

i would also love it if say you have both hangers the same launcahble. IE both have Advance runabouts. and one squadron has 4, the other 4 were destroyed, is if when both hangers are the same it would pool the launcahbles meaning you could launch eaqch hanger once to bring yourself back upto full strength instead of launching hanger 2, wait for the cool down and launch it again.

I myself am new to the whole fighter carrier thing and second the motion of having a fighter count somewhere on the HUD to help us keep track of how many we have so we can keep up the pressure.

This is a great idea. It should also apply to pets that detache from the ship like saucer sections and aquarious escorts. We shouldn't have to swivel the camera all around to see if they are still alive or not.

They need to give us a real pet interface in space. I would like to be able to monitor the health of small craft, but I also want to be able to monitor the health of deployed craft, saucers, etc. and photonic fleet and fleet support vessels. more importantly, We need to be able to command all of our pets, not just what launches from the hangar.

Okay the fed are staring to catch up to the KDF in carriers. still missing 2 a dilithium carrier and an engineer carrier. My suggestion it the dilithium be an Ambassador variant and Engineer maybe a another Galaxy use, (please fix the neck on your model is off) or create your own design, please do a good job on that some of your design are TRIBBLE.

I think they need to do this since its very confusing if there is another carrier using the same fighters as you in the group, you can't tell if you need to launch more or not.

Fed Pets need an HP Decrease to match the KDF Pets first. Not Counting Bops and Frigates.

what are you talking about? Fed fighters have as much HP as Klingon fighters. the Shuttles have more HP than fighters becasue they are a stepping stone from the 3/wave fighters and the 1/wave bops/frigates.

    Hi,

Please put 3 launch bays on all fed ships. No nerfs to the ships. Maybe a 10k hull buff.

    Thanks Cryptic .

    Love you bunches,
    Your Feddie Cash Cow.

To expand on this, there are several options for the name plates from none to only while targeted to always on. There is also an option to turn on a health bar under the name plate, which makes it easier to keep track of the health of your fighters. Unfortunately, each of these options are for "fighters and mines," so it turns them on for both your fighters and mines. There is not currently a way to turn it on for just one or the other.

note this topic is about interface changes, not ship or fighter changes themselves (plenty of pro and against threads out there for that) so please stick to the topic ;)

As a carrier fan I support having an additional section detailing wings' status. Perhaps they could do it in the same fashion as the extra buttons for the EV suit, where it adds a little bump to the top of your action tray, in which the details could be displayed: Hangar1: 0/X ( Hanger2: 2/X if present)

This way it wouldnt clutter the interface too much more than it is now and it easily visible.

I would agree with the need for a way to tell how many fighters are deployed. They also need to work on the logic of how it replaces ships when you deploy new wings. Logically, if you have a single hanger, such as with the Armitage, deploying that hanger twice should replace all the fighters you have deployed. The same would be true of the Atrox if you had two different types of hangers equipped. Deploying from one hanger twice should replace both wings of that type of fighter. If you have both hangers of the Atrox deploying the same type of fighter, then deploying each hanger twice should replace all fighters deployed.

However, I have noted that I can deploy both wings from a single hanger (or single hanger type) or deploy both hangers twice when they have the same fighters, and I can still have damaged fighters deployed. That should not be happening. If I deploy a hanger twice, all the fighters spawned by that hanger should be at 100%, but that simply is not always the case.

Why do feds need more carriers? You already got more bloody ships than we do and odds are that you will see more new ones than we will in the future. Are you so damn greedy that you need matches to all of our ships we have and then need all of your own unique ships that we will never see variants of?

I'm not a Star Trek Loremaster or anything and i haven't watched all episodes yet. Buuuut i think We got more ships cause there is more stuff known and seen about Federation compared to whats been seen from klingon or read. Hey i'd love to see some Stronger ships on KDF and more ships. But as it is i just can't bring myself to play KDF space stuff. it's just so annoying being blasted apart so much cause my ship isn't as good as the ships i had on Fed.:) anyways that asside what's your opinion on the OP's Post?
