Lost your old avatar/signature and don't have backup?

Go to Google - enter the following in the search box

site:startrekonline.com liath

replace liath with your own old cryptic username and hit go.

when the results come up, find a post you made a few days ago and hover over the preview arrows to the right hand side. when the preview appears you can click on the cached link and this will open the forum as it looked when google did it's crawl.

see screenshot here for what I mean http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i161/HunkMccoy/sto/stocache.jpg

with any luck you will find your old signature and avatar image there and can save them down to your pc.

hope this helps those feeling like they have lost their identity in the new pwe forums.

Star Trek declared a hope for a future that nobody stuck in the present could believe in. For all our struggles today, we haven’t outgrown the need for stories like Star Trek. We need tales of optimism, of heroes, of courage and goodness now as much as we’ve ever needed them."

You can also remember your join date via this method. I had to do it with mine.

Are you sure? Have you checked your name on your undies? :)

Oh Firefox recognizes undies but doesn't recognize Romulan in its dictionary.

try going back to an old post from last week/pre server change over and see if that helps you may need to scroll down a few pages in google depending how prolific a poster you were (remember to use your old cryptic name. i.e your @name without the @ sign

edit: ignore that. looks like the cache has begun clearing images or cryptic has removed the original source image from their web sever. sorry folks if you havent used this already, then you may have missed out. My sig image is still showing but I realised that is cos I was linking it from my photobucket previously and it is still there.
