Tara M: Hey Samana what are you cooking? *Walks into the kitchen* Is it Serah's favorite? I think she could use a pick me up.

Tara M: I guess I can. Look did you apologize?

    Serah: Sort of.

Tara M: Well maybe if you go and try again she'll forgive you.

Serah: Should I go try right now?

Tara M: Maybe just wait till you see her again.

OoC: A lot of people forget that that saying is meant to warn that curiosity is dangerous but rewarding. Oh and are there any small ponds near the school?

    OOC: Probably. Why?

OoC: I was going to have Serah go skip rocks across one later.

Samana: It seems pretty good. There are even standard curriculum classes for the younger students.

I just can't help feeling a little worried about the lack of any space defences... If I were still with the syndicate, this would be a latinum opportunity. Slave markets pay a fortune for twilight-users nowadays.

Tara M: Don't talk like that. But... I agree that does worry me. Maybe they can't afford them?

Samana: That usually doesn't stop slave cartels from trying. Even if they have to keep the twilight users in their holds for years, they think it's worth it if they make a profit in the end.

*She checks on Serah in the other room before coming back.*

*Serah is playing a game on her padd waiting for dinner. She still looks down*

Tara M: No I meant maybe the school can't afford the planetary defenses. But don't lots of people know about this place? Wouldn't the cartels know?

Tara M: After dinner I'll go talk with my sisters about it. Or should I go now?

Samara: Well, one of us has to have a brain. *Smiles teasingly.*

*Meanwhile, Zoe is in her quarters studying the artefact. As she touches one of the channels, her finger glows red slightly, as she feels a surge power.*

    Zoe: Woah...

*Tara B senses the odd power surge but thinks nothing of it. Instead she continues playing with illusions*

    ****

Serah: Hey Mom I'm going to go play outside until dinner is ready okay?

Tara M: I dunno about that... How much longer till the food is done?

Serah: Awesome my favorite. I guess I can wait then. *gets a plate and sits down*

Tara M: Don't rush or you'll choke. *Gets her plate* I got the dishes after we finish eating. *looks at Serah and looks thoughtful * I worry about her sometimes.

Donavan: OK mister ugly let's tango. Roland now

He fires a much larger repulsor blast from the chest emitter as he follows it with a barrage of micro torpedoes. As he fires Coulson and a member of the tactical team both fire their launches at the robot as the other two and fury fore away with there weapons.

Tara M: Well I know she is doing fine but I'm worried about her being far behind the other kids. You saw Zoe beating her.

Samana: We spoke about this earlier - she just needs training. And we can do that for her before she starts with the other kids.

Donavan: OK so are we knocking on the door nicely or blowing it up?

OoC: I kinda figure that she would be mad at Samana for leaving the cartel behind but in the end once Serah and her brother were born she'd get over it. Or at least get over it enough to want to see them. And just over the years she'd visit occasionally to check up on the kids.

Serah: I finished my food can I go outside now? *looks at Samana*

OoC: Oh and Serah is still the same age as the other kids she just acts very childish.

OOC: Oops! Sorry, I misread that as 'Serah and her mom'. In any case, Tara Tr'ian would actually probably be glad Samana left the Syndicate. Tara Tr'ian basically ended the practice of slavery in her cartel and restricted its activities to smuggling, whereas Samana based the entire economy of her cartel upon the slave trade. Samana's mother also didn't approve of her vendetta against Tara (Forrester), so her leaving the syndicate and letting all that baggage go would have pleased her mother.

*Samana looks at her with a poker face for a few moments.*

    Samana: What's the magic word?
