    *Starbase 41*
    Ryan: Status?

    Ops lt.: Still on course.

Ryan: Alright. Red Alert, all stations, General Quarters. Arm the defence grid.

Tactical Officer: Phasers charged, torpedoes armed.

Ryan: Raise shields! Time to impact?

Wenj: Approximately 10 hours. She'll be in weapons range before we can stop her.

Ryan: Da**it! Starbase 41 to U.S.S. Victorious and U.S.S. Darwin, new orders! Re-position yourselves to intercept the Sao Paulo *OCC: It IS spelt Sao Paulo, Allen. It's not a typo.* before she can hit the station. If she can't be stopped, we have to destroy her. Allington out.

Wenj, get a status report from Allen's Officers. I'd rather give them every possible second to get that crew off.

    Wenj: Aye, sir.

Ryan: All stations, Condition: Blue! Immediate Evacuation of all non-essential Personnel! This is NOT a drill! Repeat, this is NO drill!

    *The Evacuation Alarm sounds.*

Wenj: Ryan, even with the Victorious and Darwin, there's no way we can evacuate 3000 people in 10 hours.

Ryan: I know. But if this doesn't work, I want to get as many people off station as possible. Start with the Civilian Maintenance Crews.

Wenj: Aye, sir. All Civilian crewmen, report to Docking Bays 1-15 and nearest transporters, shuttlebays or Runabout pads. Starfleet personnel, stand by for evacuation. Civilian personnel take priority.

    *USS Dogos Gear*

Engineer: Sir we are ready to initiate the microburst that will terminate the bombs. As far as interfering with the ship... No chance.

Derek Ross: *sighs* Do it we have no time. I want the transporter rooms to be ready to beam people aboard and move them to cargo bays 1 and 2. When we have them, begin to attack the ship, with everything we have.

    Ops: Aye.

    Derek Ross: 3

    engage.

    Ops: Engaging burst...

*Dexter on the ship* Dexter: Excellent, alright folks take them off , Dogos Gear start beaming us out now. Spatial Charges are set.

Derek Ross: Get them out of there as fast as you can.

Transporter CHief: Sir there are around 50 people on that ship...

Derek Ross: Do it chief there isn't any time.

Chief: Aye. Transporters are a go.

    *Evacuation is proceeding.*

    * Minutes later *

Ops: We have all of them sir.

Derek Ross: Charge phasers and fire at the shield array. Then ready the Tricobalt device maximum yield.

    Tactical: Firing now.

*Phasers are striking the shield array and knock it out within 2 minutes.*

Ops: The shields are down. We are getting closer to Starbase 41 sir.

Derek Ross: Fire the device and enter warps one after wards. Do it ...

*The Dogos Gear fires the tricobalt device at the vessel and enters warp. With the shields down the device hits the ship and soon destroys the vessel completely.*

Tactical and Ops: Target is destroyed.

soon with the threat gone cole returns to vanguard to oversee some business. as he sits in his office in the dim lighting of the late hours a man enters quitly and stops at coles desk.

cole: i hope you have good new for me

man: yes sir dimitry sent the romulan file you wanted it is here on the padd

cole trns in his chair and takes the padd

cole: very well go i will contact you again when i need you.

as the man leaves the head of naval inteligence walks in from a side passage

Admiral Yurali : if i may be so bold i thought that package was to be delivered by dimitry himself when he returned

cole: it was and i want you to go over it to make sure it is all real.

admiral yulari takes the padd and makes his way out leaving cole alone as cole walks around the chamber looking over the many weapons he has on the walls ranging from ancient steel swords to modern weapons. cole gets the feeling of being watched and as we turns drawing his balistics side arm he sees the room is empty not knowing he is still being watched by a demon he doesnt know is there.

    *Rator III*

Soval: Thank you, Admiral. How long until the Odyssey arrives?

Tomalon: A few hours, Admiral. Before you leave, Commander Terik would like to speak to you.

    Soval: Who?

Tomalon: The Romulan Commander who brought you here.

    Soval: Very well.

*Admiral Tomalon leaves the room as another Romulan Officer enters.*

    Soval: Jolan'tru Commander.

Terik: Live Long and Prosper. Tell me, Admiral, do you think the Iconians are behind the rebellion?

Soval: It's hard to say. The Iconians are in conflict with the VGI, but we've not seen them with Romulan Vessels yet. I have no doubt that Taris is behind the rebellion, but, where she is concerned, nothing is certain. She could still be an Iconian puppet, or she could be working on her own to re-elevate herself to the top of your Government.

Terik: A year ago, I'd have called you mad. That was before I learned that she orchestrated the Hobus Disaster. For her sake, I hope you catch her first.

    Soval: Oh?

Terik: If we capture her, she wouldn't survive the night. Good day, Vice Admiral. *walks out of the room.*

*Admiral Soval walks back to the desk in his guest quarters.*

Soval: Computer, seal chamber doors. Open a communications channel to Starbase 41.

*Channel opens as the face of the Starbase's communications officer takes the screen.*

Soval: Request to be patched in to Commander T'las, please.

Comm. Officer: Sorry, Admiral Soval. She's currently in the infirmary. Should I patch you into her there?

Soval: Negative. It's nothing that urgent.

Comm. Officer: Aye, sir. Would you like to leave a message?

Soval: Negative, I'll tell her in person. Soval out. *Closes the channel.*

Derek Ross: You are sure there has been no word from my sister?

Shelana: Yes Admiral, but from reports given from the area she has been fine just very busy. On a personal note Admiral you should relax, she will contact you when she can, my sisters do the same with me and of course I understand your worry.

Derek Ross: Of course Captain. How long will you be away?

Shelana: I don't know for certain, this ship is pretty much in a constant state of busy.

Derek Ross: I understand. Keep safe will you?

    Shelana: Is that an order?

Derek Ross: Yes and a personal favor. And tell the Fleet Admiral to watch his backside, and marry Kara.

Shelana: *laughs* Of course and if I know those 2 which I do quite well they will do it in their time when there is nothing trying to kill everyone. Goodbye Vice Admiral Ross and take yourself.

    Derek Ross: Of course.

    *ends transmission*

*Derek Ross chooses to leave the ship along with some of his crew for some very needed R &R there is quite a fair amount of cheering when the crew steps out.*

As cole is walking through the streets of vanguard he notices a man rushs by him in a hurry at first he thinks nothing of it but as he turns to look at the man he notices a symbol on his sleeve as cole turns around the man is gone and a moment later a building nearby explodes sending debris in all derections. Cole arc armor activates immediatly surronding him. And helps to dampen the impact. As he taps into the comm system to find out what happens he hears a voice and knows it isnt human.

Voice" until the vgi surrenders to us we will continue to attack and destroy your cities ships and bases. Surrender now for the good of your people."

Then the comms are filled with calls for help and security trying to find out what went wrong.

Admiral Soval, I do have news for you about your crew. A lot of it is good news and some of it is bad. The crew of the Sao Paulo are all alive and well, but a few of them are badly wounded from what we suspect is interrogation injuries.

    *Hands him the datapad.*

One of them is someone you know well. I will escort you to your temporary quarters so you may rest. We will keep a comm open with the Romulans and see if we can help each other since we and the Klingon Empire have been dragged into this conflict. By the way the Klingon front is going well.

    *Hands him another datapad.*

It also seems the VGI has been suffering from terrorist attacks and hit and run attacks from unknown vessels.

As cole sits in a briefing with the military commanders of the vgi he sits listening as well as looking over intel reports and for the first time in awhile is happy when he sees admiral allen and soval are both leaving romulan space. But is quickly occupied again.

Gen mortin: all ground forces are currently ready should we be attacked. We have forces everywhere.

Admiral tali: the fleet is also fully mobilized and is doubling up on patrols although i must inform you that the tholians have been testing our borders. Looks like our treaty with them is over.

Cole: very well. We will continue with our current plan and will modify it as needed.

As the military officers salute and leave one remains.

Cole: admiral yikovy you are to begin again finding shedai artifacts. When the iconians return we will need every advantage we can get. Also has our diplomat to the dominion reported in yet.

Admiral yikovy : no he hasnt sir.

Cole : very well those are your orders.computer raise admiral allen inform him i am going to leave the tempest and templar both stationed at ds9 the rest of the vgi ships will return to our space. Also seeif he still wishes for our ships to remain at starbase 41 and starbase 39.

    *USS Odyssey*

Starbase 41 this is USS Odyssey we are requesting docking. We have come home. Admiral Soval is on board safe and sound.

    *Starbase 41*
Ryan: Stand-by, Odyssey. There's a priority Medical Ship ahead of you.

U.S.S. Pasteur, this is Starbase 41, you are cleared to dock at Bay 12. U.S.S. Odyssey, you are cleared to dock at Bay 7. I.K.S. Rotarran, continue to hold. *Closes Channel*

Contact the Shipyard, see when the DeForest Kelley will be ready for action again.

Wenj: Aye, sir. Sir, why is Doctor Pulaski coming here all the way from Starfleet Medical?

Ryan: Pulaski? Get some bureaucracy and delay the Pasteur while I get into dress uniform and greet Doctor Pulaski aboard! I want a full Honour Guard present! Make sur--

Wenj: Sir, the orders say she's here on Medical Priority One.

Ryan: Oh, then beam her straight to the infirmary. And...

Wenj: Disregard the Honour Guard order?

Ryan: Yes, disregard the Honour Guard.

Wenj: What Honour Guard? Beaming Doctor Pulaski to the Infirmary now.

    *Docking Bay 7*
Soval: Thank you for the lift, Admiral. Now, if you'll excuse me... *Enters Turbolift* Level 5: Infirmary.

    *Infirmary*

Pulaski: How much do you know about Torik's Syndrome?

    Doctor: Never heard of it.

Soval: It's a biological disorder that affects 1 in 1000 Vulcan-Human hybrids and 1 in 100000 normal Vulcans. It's brought on when the victim reaches the approximate age of 20-25. The first Symptom is a heightened pulse rate, followed by a fever and--

Doctor: And then a shut down of all autonomic functions! That's almost exactly what the Sao Paulo's CMO reported! The next stage would be complete Cordical shutdown, correct?

Pulaski: Yes, resulting in death. I treated Commander T'las for the condition 2 years ago, while the U.S.S. Scott was at Earth Spacedock. We'd seemed to have eradicated the condition from her system, but not without fear of relapse. The relapse can be brought on by extreme electrical charges, amplified by Vulcan Copper-based blood, which T'las, unfortunately, has. The reason I was able to help her last time was because we caught it quickly enough, I'd like to make that clear, Admiral. It may already be too late.

Soval: Do what you can, Admiral.

Pulaski: "Doctor" will do fine, Soval.

    *Meanwhile, in the infirmary*
Pulaski: This is one stubborn microbe. It's still moving into the brain. We can't risk another dose of Cordrazine unless we have to. Let's narrow the pattern as far as it'll go. There. Look, it's working! The microbes are starting to-- *Brain activity flatlines*

She's going into Cortical failure! It's the memories, we're forcing her brain to produce endorphins related to emotions like pain while her mind's extremely weak! She's giving in! Cortical Stimulator!

If the endorphins can hurt the virus back to here *points to a spot on the diagram just below the spinal column* I can remove it by stimulating the nerve with protons.

    Doctor: How would that help?

Pulaski: The nervous system uses bio-electricity to control nerve functions, the same way as how the Brain operates. Electricity is just the collection of electrons into a steady current, so by pumping protons into that nerve, which are oppositely charged to electrons, we'll make the are more inhospitably to the microbe.

Doctor: And since it needs brain endorphins to survive, and seeing how poisoned food is still food.

Pulaski: It'll work it's way back up towards the spinal column.

Doctor: Where the endorphins will kill it! Brilliant!

Pulaski: Consider ourselves lucky that this is a smarter microbe than those on some planets. Of course, there's some risk. The proton count needs to be exact or we risk destroying the nerve the microbe's inhabiting.

    Doctor: On it!

Pulaski: The meld is letting Soval be in her mind while she's experiencing the memories! He's aiding T'las through them!

Doctor: But, if she dies, during the meld...

Pulaski: There's too much at stake to just break the meld. Cortical Stimulator. *She places one stimulator on Soval's forehead, and one on T'las'* If her vitals completely fail, we'll have to terminate the meld. *She moves back to the piece of equipment she was using to control the neural stimulation (OOC: If you want a partial understanding of what's remotely happening, I suggest you watch TNG: Shades of Grey) and examines the readout.* Good. *raises a hand up* Please Rear Admiral at ease.

How is the front doing so far? Any unusual activity? My vessel detected nothing.

How is the front doing so far? Any unusual activity? My vessel detected nothing.

Ryan: Nothing, sir. We've pushed the Romulan rebels back to the Neutral Zone Border. Admiral Benteen's fleet is--

Ops lieutenant: Sir, incoming Romulan and Breen Warp Signatures!

Ryan: Oh, hell! Red Alert! All hands, Battle Stations!

*The Red Alert Klaxon sounds through all decks*

*The Infirmary, now at Red Alert*

Pulaski: Almost have it. There! We've eradicated the infection!

*The Mind Meld between Admiral Soval and Commander T'las breaks*

Pulaski: We eradicated the infection, Admiral. You won't have any more relapses Commander.

Soval: Then, I'd better get up to Ops. and see what's happening.

Doctor: Oh, no, you don't! I still have a dozen tests to run, on both of you. Doctor Pulaski, given the situation, if you could remain here and help with Medical emergencies...

    Pulaski: Of course.

    *Ops*

    Wenj: Incoming Breen ships!

Ryan: U.S.S. Victorious, U.S.S. Darwin and U.S.S. Hornet, assume defensive positions around the station. U.S.S. Pasteur will be on stand-by for Medical Assistance. This is Starbase 41 to any Federation Vessels in range, we are under attack! Repeat, we are under attack!

Wenj: Breen ships are firing! Romulan Vessels now dropping out of warp and joining the Breen Formation! Markings match rebel ships!

Ryan: All weapons, fire at will! Launch all Runabouts and Fighters!

*As the station's defence grid fires in the background, a mix of Danube and Yellowstone Runabouts, as well as Peregrine Fighters, launch from the Starbase's Shuttlebays and Runabout Pads.*

Wenj: Runabouts and Fighters away, sir! *Ops rumbles as enemy weapons fire hits the shields* Shields at 86% and holding, for now.

Ryan: Admiral Allen, the Odyssey is still docked here. If you could take command and join the defence, we'd appreciate it.

    But of course.

*taps his com badge.* Odyssey recall all crew members to the ship and proceed with a site to site transport. We need to defend this area. I have a couple surprises for the Romulans.

    *Once on board.*

What are the Romulan situation and how many vessels are there.

Tactical Ensign: There are around 40 Romulan vessels all bearing that strange radiation signature.

The there is also a strange vessel at the front of the incoming fleet.

Hmm its making it appearance now. Alright proceed with this plan and I want constant feeds on all battle groups.
