Had some idiot this morning in his OP Scimitar in ISE just going after generators and ignoring cubes. Once we had failed the optional he bailed. ****ing troll.
Playing STFs has been **** lately. I think I'll just play in a Space Battlezone, no one can TRIBBLE that up.
On that note, pugged an ISE the other day and had one guy go and blow one of the right generators immediately after we took the left ones out, so we were contending with spheres going in both directions at once. Was pretty fun, taking out the left side's remains and keeping the constantly spawning right side's off the transformer at the same time. Team took out the right cube and remaining gens while I blasted away at those spheres, got optional no problem. It was definitely the most interesting ISE I ever remember playing.

I just had one that I think put the "Special" in Special Task Force tonight.
I was doing KASE in my Oddy along with a T'Varo, a Dyson, a Sovereign, and a Vanguard. After the tac cube was destroyed, I went to take the probes on the right side. The Dyson, Sovereign, and Vanguard followed me over and proceeded to work on the generators, leaving the T'Varo on his own on the left side. At this point of playing ESTFs, I realize that trying to advise a group on how to do these things was pointless because you're always in the wrong in their eyes. Anyways, I jumped over to the left to help the T'Varo. It was then that the other three spawned both right side cubes. The T'Varo was also dealing with a cube on his side. The Sovereign and the Vanguard then proceeded to the left side to tackle more generators while the Dyson stayed on the right and worked on a a transformer.
By this point, the only two people that were keeping an eye on probes were myself and the T'Varo. While we were dealing with probes and dodging three cubes, the probes started getting through. At this point I decided to be a jerk and fly around the cubes and even attempted to lure them to Three Stooges so they could have a headache. I continued to concentrate on the probes. The Three eventually got the hint and took out the cubes (by that point the fourth one was spawned). By that point, seven probes got through. The T'Varo and I continued to work on probes while the rest worked on the transformers and gates, which took forever. We managed to get through the first half.
Next came the Valdore! The Three Stooges apparently didn't understand the idea of staying 5k away from her, as she continuously cloaked and then fired her Thalaron Pulse. The T'Varo and I ran hit and run tactics on the Valdore. Between the hit and run and the cloak spam, I think it took 20 minutes just to get her down to 60%. The Three Stooges had enough damage amongst themselves to make this even more painfully long. Eventually, we finished and I had three new people to add to my ignore list.
Sometimes I wonder if Starfleet Academy has a short-shuttle that is piloted by a Pakled.

I've seen a match lasting 90mins (just on the Endboss) because those morons weren't aware of the 5km range and just ignored advises. Needless to say they were poor on DMG as well.
It's the reason I don't play KASE anymore then is necessary to get the Optional.
I'm tired of telling other players to watch the distance and to hear a lot of backchat about how that rule doesn't count etc.
And I don't bother notifying them anymore, if they fail to destroy the Scimitar in time, I just leave.
What really amazes me is they're telling me this with a straight face as Donatra is cloaking all the time!

Starfleet Academy in this game IS a short-shuttle piloted by a Pakled. No offense to Pakleds.
"Luckily", season 9.5 has "fixed" Donatra, and now she is like that carrier from Cure. Slaughtered, barely noticeable speedbump.
May 2013, automatic permanent ban for mentioning gold-seller sites pwebranflakes: this system is currently in place and working the way it should. moradum: I got banned for saying "I started my day with cutting off 3 MM off of the bottom of my cabinet"
Worst WTF ever, its easy, anything since the patch, bunches of ******* in every Elite STF, last one had a guy with no less than 9 damaged systems and another who cant even kill a borg probe, best just to leave the STF's till the muppet crafter rush has ended

Decided to do a breech elite this evening. Ended up with 4 Klingon vorcha variants who skipped out of the "heal your injuries 101"class. Next time i see someone ranting about Klingon Elitism i'll remember this match.
Luckily i had my trusted Intrepid which does CC and hazards like no other. With it i can actually solo Breech elite. When i want to solo it though i create a private match.
When i enter an Elite STF is it too much to ask that the participants at least know their basics?
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

Actually, I have wondered about this too.
I think the record I've seen is 15 injuries, half of them critical.
That ship popped like a ballon every shot from the enemy.
The only time it was excusable was with a new player who didn't know the mechanic existed, but when I explained it and gave them some regenerators, they picked up the concept fast.
Now, for the rest of the class skippers, how do they justify not healing up either during or after the mission?
The only thing I can think of is they're too tight with the virtual currency wallet to want to buy regenerators.
Bees like honey, they don't like vinegar.

The problem is there are too many people with enough DPS to compensate for several persons doing squat. It's simply the new style of leeching.

Nothing that bad about this one, but was an Awesome and memorable one though
I recently had a Cure Ground Elite that was awesome. It started well as usual and I was on my Fed Sci Caitian so I was handineling the planting the bombs being a Kitty who can just jump over the shields, but that besides the point. First group of Devices and Turrets we ended up being a little slow and the reset on us having to do them again, but its seem having them reset gave us all a second wind as we just wiped the map so fast and efficently we even still got the optional as well, though it was under 20 second left. Everyone was celebrating the Optional save there.
That defentally will be a Cure Ground Elite I'll remember and ended up a lot more fun than usual as well.
soo.... my worst run of Undine Infiltration elite ever... It actually went reasonably smoothly, until we got to the caves part. During the caves part, two players disappeared leaving us with a team of three. Which made things a bit harder, but by no means impossible. It did lead to the first time I ever had to respawn in this mission though. the funny part? that was when it was time to fight the boss. The other two remaining players went over to the hole and stood there like they were waiting. So I jumped down the hole and started fighting. The Boss went down to 25% reasonably fast then I got mobbed by all the undine that spawned and had to respawn. then I looked at chat and realized that the other two hadn't even jumped down the hole. They'd been asking about whether it was a good idea to fight the boss while down two players... lol. so I tell them to just keep going without them and we finish almost as easily as if we had a full team... haha..
Well, its been nearly half a year or so, but I had a good HSE then. I pug HSE relatively often, depending on time and mood 3 times a week (and I think that is pugging a lot regarding HSE-fails).
Now, since HSE has ridiculous amounts of one-hit-possibilities, and shieldstrips, I usually take a cruiser, vesta, recluse or scimi for it, usually with beam, though sometimes i forget to switch and just use NWS-Loadouts. It is a very good flightstyle practice, and I even discard valdor-console sometimes (the only times i consider using it is hse, for the rest its not needed, and doesnt give dps ).
Now, usually you go in there, and come out with 11-13mio Dmg and 4pugs with 1-2k dps, and I tend to make a sarcastic comment in such a case. Sometimes you get good pugs, some I even consider worth healing (usually those who can either take aggro decently, dps decently, or healed me previously, so to make it short: I only heal the useful teammates (which usually means I would heal myself, but sometimes I dont have aggro, hence no heal needed^^)).
Well on one occasion I joint with my MVAM. Now, even with crf you cant be sure that you dont draw to much attention (in comparasion to dps-chan and fleet-stfs, were you get cover fire from beam boats while killing spheres). So I flew a more defensive way then usual, however, the second cube carried me down to heal with its WC. So I had a bit time to check combatlog and, as usually, I was in lead, and the rest was <3k. At this point, I prepared for the worst, but after that one explosion I had 4 healers, as everyone was throwing heals on me and thus, that was the only time I died. One even got a good timed subnuke on a Unimatrix. Even though the whole encounter took 15minutes (pretty long even for fleet-only-standards), I only died once, and the highest killcount was 3 (also quite low for a pug), and we didnt have any problems taking down Unimatrix ships and queen.
That was one of the few times I was able to "gg" my team in HSE, as usually its a oneplayerwithpets vs. the borg armada. (other times I gg are pugs taking less then 5min in ISE, or when I dont have to do the left spawns in CSE. Seems strict, but here I can gg fairly often).
Now, long story short: Use Combatlogparser (like combatlogreader), and support the DD (if you aint it). Thats teamplay some desire so much. (and the reason why I pug everytime I think "well, i could make a full healboat", to remind me that its not worth lowering my dps so much, as usually nobody fills the gap...even my CC/Drain-Torpedoattrox parses 12k min.)
So I ended up in a match of Khitomer in Stasis Elite and right away some guy asks if anyone is new at this. At first you think he's just being friendly and wanting too teach, but he sits there and keeps asking if anyone's a noob ("Seriously guys I need to know. I don't play with noobs.").
He's asking this as we are racing through the Borg and he's too busy asking us to move. By the time he moves we already are in the room with the forcefield just before the room with the IMRs. We never see him while clearing this room and he keeps dying. We don't see him until we get too the boss room and by that time he has several Critical Injuries.
So all that time worrying about playing with noobs and he turns out to be the noob.
My Fleetmate and I were doing ICE the other night. Have one player who went after one of sides by himself. And while he did manage to do it by himself. We lost the optional which is ok. It was a pug, things don't always go according to plan. What really annoyed me though is that I told him to stop. And after we get done I realize he is talking to me. Telling me I am a bad player, that I don't know what I am doing. That my DPS is too low and that I should uninstall. The sad thing is I could probably tank his alpha strike, my shields don't go down that much. At least not on ICE or any of the borg STFs. And it is true I don't do that much DPS. I am however a eng. officer and Tanking is what I am supposed to be doing.

Not that I want to defend its behaviour (he went to far), however, there is some error in your statement: Tanking doesnt mean that you are undestroyable, thats only part of it. It means you can hold aggro from most/all enemies. The last part requires dps, even with threatcontrol skilled and consoles implemented, if you dont do enough dps you will lose aggro to someone with high-dps. If that happens, you are not a tank, but only a low-dps-player, hence your addition to the team gets nearly totally lost.
Aside from that fact, DPS and Tanking arent exclusive, with any Cruiser at Odyssey Level or better (even with Gal-X, which is weaker then an Ody), it is possible to play the indestructible Fortress while dpsing over 10k. Especially on a Engineer char.

I think I was in that game, I was the weaksauce scimitar. Was he posting combat logs and bragging you had no right to tell him to stop? Regardless of whether you are "better" than him or not he only had himself to blame...
No a bad experience this but just an epic run on KSE.
We failed the optional because everyone who was probe guarding left side suddenly swapped to right whilst i was juggling with a cube and one slipped through. Was too bad though as I had to solo that side from then onwards in my Risian Corvette.
It was not too hard, just kept moving and only parked up to hit the probes if out of range of the gate.
Then when Donatra appears i notice another corvette so we "team-up" doing straffing and bombing runs on her whilst everyone else takes the agro and drops grav wells and viral matrix on her.
She went down pretty easily once the shields were knocked out on one side as the corvettes were speedy enough to exploit and gaps in her shields.
Found using enhanced bio-torps on HY3 is excellent for one-shotting things.

Shocking
I've actually seen similar. People with the 700 day vet thingy usually do it. I had one guy get bored halfway through the Cure Ground and wander away to shoot at nothing important. Same thing -- he kept dying and amassing injuries. We killed the final boss without him, though. Probably got all the rewards, sadly.
Another time there was a guy in the Cure Space sitting mostly idle. He was only hitting spacebar and deploying fighters and they were destroyed. I asked him what his problem was and why he didn't move his ship (and kept getting destroyed). He said he was crafting. IN THE INSTANCE. Yeah, like we didn't know the new system was an issue -- people are saving time doing STFs and crafting at THE SAME TIME.
Anyway, yeah. PUGs suck.
My Old Blog about things that could and should have been added when I wrote it. Not sure what I want to do with it now. I'll just keep it available now that most of it is outdated.
Just did CGE today. Public EliteSTF channel premade team.
We go in, I say that I need the accolade. We move like lightning, one melee, two sniper two pulsewave. Rip the Borg apart.
I'm in Adapted KHG set with KHG pulsewave spare, shooting the Borg left and right. Optional finished with 2 minutes on the clock, like 3 deaths among the whole team. Armak goes down in maybe 1 minute? Tops?
Beautiful run, got the accolade for Omega Force Shadow Operative and Honor Guard Elite Commander, too. Thanks, guys!
Flying around in that busted POS miranda class with three boff/console slots. I actually quit playing this game and didn't come back to it for over a year because of how boring it was flying that miranda class in battle.
If they had just let me preview a high end ship at the beginning of the game, I would have stuck around and would have spent more money on zen by now
TL:DR ****ty new player experience drove me off from playing for over a year.
I wonder how many other people didn't give this game a chance because of how NOT-FUN low level combat ships are.
Actually, I have been wondering who those guys are.
A friend of mine asked me why some STFers were getting snotty and the only thing I could think of was to say maybe they were being elitist because they were from the 10k club (that's my name for them).
I don't really understand the principle of the 10k club, but I think it means you do 10k total DPS during an STF.
If anyone can define it more precisely, I'd appreciate the explanation.
Regardless, I don't like those kind of people, I'm not tolerant of any group or individual that forces you to adopt a specific build setup regardless of what you may want to do.
I've seen this kindof behavior in so many mmos (do it our way. you aren't doing it our way? flamewar on!), my response is to instantly get annoyed with these people.
Bees like honey, they don't like vinegar.

Most of the time it's not "Do our way" but still "Do your own way but still be useful". If you have thoughtful build you can contribute to team as heal, CC or tank (if you can keep aggro). But sorry if someone goes for Elite missions, for example KASE and can't kill or any other way stop single probe from entering the Vortex then something is wrong with him/her.

You have misunderstood : tilarta is talking about the 10k channel and yes, you should be able and sure to parse 10k in an STF if you x there.
Or you might get kicked out if some admin catches you underperforming in ISE and CSE.
I actually got scolded by a guy when I joined a few stfs with them on a fresh char on mine. I thought I could go with any toon of mine : i was wrong.
Anyway, if you know the basics and you don't feel like risking, there's still PublicEliteSTF.
I repped up quite a few chars of mine fast running dailies with them and they don't suck : often the runs are quite smooth because in general they are people who know what they are doing and wabt to improve themselves.

Shocking
I am ROTFLMFAO SO hard at both of these...
PUGs suck.
Everytime someone makes a character that is an copy of an existing superhuman, Creativity is sad
