We've just tested the BOFFs and had no issues with claiming, discharging and reclaiming. If we had a Android BOFF already, whether commissioned or not, we discharged it and were able to pick up another of any of the other varieties.

Were these steps followed, and you are sure that you don't have a single Android BOFF in the candidate roster or assigned to active duty?

    Cheers,

Multiple toons on same account? As some of my toons don't have an Android BOFF AT ALL...

I discharged my old commissioned male engineer android BOFF, and went to the special BOFF requisition officer on ESD. They have the new variants available, but I can't claim any of them - if I click on an android to buy one, I get a message that 'I do not have room for that'. Nor do I have a starfleet merit with which to buy one. I've triple-checked and do not have an android on my crew.

To be precise my crew has: Liberated Borg male, Andorian Female, Photonic male, Breen male, Jem'Hadar male, Borg Female, Orion female, Nausicaan male, and Reman male. It used to also have a male Engineer Android. Since discharging that android I have 4 free BOFF slots.

I tried on one of my KDF characters who never even claimed the original male engineering android, and they get the same errors.

If you're willing and able, can you try dismissing another BOFF in your candidate roster that you don't need and don't mind loosing and then try claiming the an Android BOFF again?

Alternatively, can't he move it to his regular inventory so as not to lose the candidate? I seem to recall there being an option to do that...

I dismissed another BOFF and tried to reclaim a new Android, but still no luck.

You don't need to discharge one from there. you need to have enough space in your "candidate roster" since that's the place the android is going to be dropped in first.

I think I see the issue, you don't have the token required for the 700-day Androids.

I'm a little concerned about this, as my first character (my main) also did not have this token when I copied it to the TRIBBLE test shard to test these a few days ago. The only way I could get a token was to take a toon that had already claimed the original Android way back when (since I never claimed the male eng Android on my main), dismiss that BOff, and then claim a new one. Hopefully I'll be able to check this on my main toon later this afternoon.

I remember that a month or so ago, I had similar issues... all my BOff slots were full, so I decommissioned one of them then immediately tried to claim the android... no-go. I waited a day and tried again... then it worked.

Although, Branflakes testing seems to contradict this but the servers may need time to propagate the changes to fully realize the a BOff slot is open before trying to fill it again.

EDIT: My candidate list was never full either.

My primary character never received it's android token, but on tribble was able to get the Android without any fuss.

Alternatively, can't he move it to his regular inventory so as not to lose the candidate? I seem to recall there being an option to do that...

You can put it up on the exchange, and if the candidate roster is full,* wait for the sale to expire, then it gets returned in the mail and from there to the inventory (unless you've cleared the roster a bit).

*If the roster is full, it seems you can't take a BO sale off the exchange (unless that's changed recently).

Other than exchange gimmicks, I've never been able to move BOs to or from my inventory. You can't even move them around within your inventory for some reason.

There's no token for purchasing an android BOFF; they simply have a cost of 0 EC in the BOFF store.

If we update the diplomatic/marauding exchange BOFFs, they will work the same way: no token to purchase them, you simply must have the appropriate level of commendation XP and you can only have one (of the very rare ones) at a time.

I am uncertain as to why anyone would keep so many "extra" unused BOFFs. I have... Three? One of each, in case I need to train a skill suddenly.

Situation comes up so rarely I don't have to worry about keeping multiples on-hand.

I've lost track, but I think I've got about 15 Purples in the mail to myself.

Every once in awhile, I go through and combine them into groups of Five.

Any chance we can get the two Tac Gorns to not be dups on the Feddie side? Looks like we have two copies of ranged and no bite.

I think I have around 20 in the mail. Cannot bring myself to get rid of them as they all have very rare skills.... ;)

Well, I'd like to see special projects that consume special BOffs too. And allowing people to keep more encourages BOff slot sales.

The last 4 Toons I started all left Spacedock with all Purple BOffs. I mail a set of 3, then have them claim the Android.

Are they going to make the fully customizable Android Boff in Tac and Sci and Eng? Also Male and Female?

I'd want a female Tac or Sci.

They're already out. You can have one android. If you have one, you need to dismiss it to get one of the others.

I collect BOFFs and a lot on my candidat elist have very rare skills (TSS3, Aux to SIF 3) etc, not selling them until the exchange gets fixxed.

I really appreciate that the Android has finally been updated. However, while you are talking about Diplomatic/Marauding BOFFs I am not sure if it is just me or not, but I have been unable to edit the appearance of my KDF BOFF since I received it.

In addition, is there any possibility to make the Photonic Science Officer and the Borg Science Officer from the STF Khitomer Accord appearances customizable? I was able to do this by accident just not able to make it permanent. I am not asking to give them a sex change or profession swap just a customizable appearance. ;) thx.....
