If it's like CO is then the answer to that is yes. Since you are a lifer you're considered to be subscribed all the time, so just like your veteran status (and rewards) continue to accrue even if you don't log in, so will your c-store stipend.
So, If I already made a foundry mission and published it, and I later decided to become a silver member, does that mean my mission that I published previously will no longer be available (unless I become a gold member)?
1) The KDF faction unlocking at level 25 at the release of F2P is I assume to, resolve, the issue they have of non-pvp story related missions, until it is actually resolved with the addition of more story content, at which time that unlock level will lower again, maybe yes? maybe no?
That is exactly how I read it. The impression I get (and this is an impression, not fact) is that Perfect World didn't like the lack of KDF PVE content, and so they pushed for this as a temporary measure until the KDF are brought in line.
Now, how long will that take? Who knows.
4) Only 1 extra character slot for monthly and lifetime subbers? I think 3 extra, minimum would be appropriate, since that's what you currently give subscribers IIRC, 5 by default.
Nope; subs get 3.
8) Will the Captain's Table get some love out of this? As in will become a more, exclusive and usable, hangout once again? i.e full sets of vendors, tailors, other Spacedock amenities?
1) I understand the reason for limiting the chat privilages for silver players, however, The zone/fleet chat is what keeps STO players connected. Would restricting that hinder the STO community?
2) Since STO FTP will be free even to download, Will there be any pluses for those who purchased the game?
Maybe someone that plays CO can answer this question:
Will i get the monthly stipend, regardless if i log in to play?
Say, real life has me not being allowed to play for 3 months.
In that three months, will 1200 C-Points have been added to my account or did i need to login monthly to collect the 400 monthly stipend?
If it's like CO is then the answer to that is yes. Since you are a lifer you're considered to be subscribed all the time, so just like your veteran status (and rewards) continue to accrue even if you don't log in, so will your c-store stipend.
I can confirm what Protector said. I've got a CO LTS, and recently went about 2 months without logging in. When I did I had 800 CO C-Points waiting for me and had got my 100 day Vet Reward (not to mention a handful of expired Auction House e-mails, lol).

Well silver players can unlock full chat just by playing for 20 hours (or buying something), so IMO it won't be a big deal. This really is to prevent an influx of gold spammers.
Economy: I don't think the economy will be successful in its current state.
Given there are few in game currency sinks are there any plans to add some to increase it's value relative to C-Store currency? Are there any plans to change rate of USD to C-Store point convertion within the next 6 months, a year? If so will the stipend be adjusted accordingly?
End Game Content: I don't think we have any and would like some for having provided a life time sub for a game which hasn't developed any in a year and a half. I know that may come across as harsh, but it's a reality to me.
What are the plans to develop end game content it has been a year and a half? What if any end game exploration content is going to be developed in the near future? What if any end game PvP content is going to be developed in the near future? Are there any plans to allow players to make PvP foundry missions? What if any are the expected time tables for new F.E. releases? What are the plans for player owned stations OPvP Sector space/Exploration Space? Are STFs all we should expect for end game (imo they shouldn't count as they have finite replayability factor)?

When the Emblems are converted into the new Dilithium does that make the "retrofit" ships such as the Galaxy W/ saucer seperation purchasable with Dilithium?
I ask because im close to having enough emblems to earn it-i just need to know if I should spend my emblems on something else before the conversion, or if I can continue as planned.
I've been a CO Lifer and a STO Lifer since beta of both games. I have a decent C-Point total on CO which cannot used with STO.
Since both Cryptic games will be F2P, can you merge C-Point Totals from both games so they can be used on either?
I think your Dual Gold Members would love that as they would be getting 800 points per month to spend on either game. And if Neverwinter or your 4th Unannounced Title launches with F2P it would be awesome to subscribe and get even more stipends to be used on any of your titles.
1. How will recruit-a-friend rewards work now? Will they be removed, or will we only earn the rewards if/when our recruit buys a Gold subscription?
2. It was previously mentioned that different types of members will be able to convert cpoints for dilithium and vice versa, and that different ships may be available in different ways for the two types of subscribers. Could you clarify more about this? Are more Premium ships slated to be purchasable via dilithium earned in-game?
3. When the various races mentioned in the FAQ become free, will there be any kind of compensation given to accounts that already paid to unlock them?
2. If there is a cap on character slots and say for instance I have 13-14 slots right now and say I need to use the money for something else for that month will any of my characters be deleted, or will I be stuck with only being able to play a few select characters that the system allows me too?
too your 2nd question here is an answer
Characters will remain when switching from Gold to Silver. However, players will not be able to play them until either they re-upgrade to Gold or convert them individually into Silver characters in-game. The exact conversion process is still being determined. Please note that we never delete character data. If a Gold Member cancels his or her subscription and decides to restart it at a later date, all of that Member's characters and associated items will be intact.
people really need to read this FAQ better, asking questions that are already answered in the FAQ gets a bit annoying.
Instead of receiving free ship tokens, players will now receive Dilithium through natural play which can be used to purchase ships and gear.
We used to get a free ship per tier, will we get enough dilithium when we tier up to get that 1 free ship, or will we be stuck either grinding for dilithium, or buying all our ships?
I am completely miffed! In Champions Online, Gold members get access to premium archetypes and costumes for FREE! Why aren't we afforded the same with regards to ships and races HERE?!
I've still got 2 out of the 3 "Guest Passes" I earned for buying the Collector's edition to STO and now they are no longer necessary to invite a guest into the game. Will there be any ways I or another player can use the codes on the remaining 2 Guest Passes?

Now to my question
My concern would be when F2P goes live. Will Cryptic be ready to handle the increase in server traffic in the 1st few weeks to avoid lag and disconnects?
How will the featured episodes work in free to play? Will it be open to all members on day one? And how will Cryptic handle the traffic if or when we get new featured episodes? As it stands now we get lag and disconnects just from the current members we have now.
a) perfect world are pros at this stuff - if you check out their site, they have quite a few MMOs running
b) the season 4 "code merge" was a huge performance upgrade to our core server technology
c) more hardware is on the way
The stipend has to be raised, 400 points is nothing when you compare the cstore costs of CO and STO items.
The character slots have to be increased, 5 is the minimum for subscribers.
There has to be more incentives for subscriptions, based on their matrix, why would someone want to pay?
On the flip side:
How about limiting costume slots for silver and not inventory space? Inventory is pretty necessary to play. Please don't make this a F2P but Pay to Enjoy game.
That announcement was a big let down. I was actually kind of excited about what Cryptic might do, but was left with an even more sour taste in my mouth than before.
Cryptic is lying to us about klingon content, again! Instead of fixing things like they have been promising since launch, they are condensing the faction to make the experience less horrible, while promising to do real work on it at some far flung future time. At this point, anyone with half a brain should see the likelyhood of that ever happening is astronomically low.
They lied to us about 600 day rewards, waiting until the day those rewards should have gone out to let us know about it. Instead of having the decency to come out and say it they made it a foot-note in the announcement.
Far too little difference between gold and silver players. One would be much better off with a silver account spending $15 dollars a month in the blasted C-store!
No method to the madness behind tier x.5, both Gold and Silver players will need to shell out serious money to remain competitive
It's a little thing, but not being able to use the STO stiped towards CO and vice-versa is hands down TRIBBLE. Are they trying to limit the number of people who might subscribe to both games?!
Who is responsible for all of these terrible decisions of late? Dsthal? I seriously wish I never bought a LTS more than I ever have before!:mad::mad:
If I decide to change to a silver account can I unlock my other toon by buying an additional character slot? Or will I have to keep a gold account to be able to play the extra toon I got? I have 3 now but silver accounts only allow 2 toons. So will I be able to unlock that character by buying a character slot?
Another one I thought of whilst awaiting the sexy Venture and Vor'Kang, Dstahl mentioned that he forsaw C-Store prices dropping, is that going to be future implemented if it comes through? Or are prices going to retroactively drop for previously released products as well as future C-Store releases?
Will life time subscribers lose their unique liberated Borg captains once STO goes FTP? I have heard people mention that it will be placed in the C store as a species purchase.

Ah. Thanks for the clarification.
I ask because im close to having enough emblems to earn it-i just need to know if I should spend my emblems on something else before the conversion, or if I can continue as planned.
Lifetimers had access to 2 extra ones (5).
One is given as part of vet rewards.
Will lifers get to keep their 5 slots and not the 3 listed under gold currently?
Or do/should I spend them before the conversion to Dilithium?
