Great feedback, guys. Some of this stuff is already in the system, in fact. Some would probably work better as full missions in their own right, to be honest.
Oh, also, I thought I'd give you guys a friendly word of caution for when the system goes live...be very, very careful about leaving Baked Tribble or Tribble Kebabs alone in your inventory with regular tribbles...

Just saying. Don't anyone say I didn't warn you.
 I'm going to have to do just that.
Cannibal tribbles? Ship-based tribble extermination mission against insane carnivorous tribbles?

Oh you've warned me, but not away from doing so. I MUST see what happens.

Now I have to decide who I will tell to put the Baked Tribble with a regular tribble in the inventory to get a purple tribble that grants +10% damage output.

This may sound stupid but what are Baked Tribble or Tribble Kebabs?
ps: I never quite understood the whole tribble breeding i just colected the ones people said were good to hold on to and use.

One of the screenshots I posted a week or so back had a Klingon duty officer assignment requiring a chef to make "Baked Tribbles" for your captain. The successful result of the assignment is food that gives a tribble-like buff.
Tribbles eat food in your inventory; since the above assignment is making a couple of new types of food, it naturally raised the question of what happens when a tribble eats...tribble...

The holo boff has a holo emitter, when he gets 'knocked out' it falls to the ground instead of a body.
I'll take your word on it and will adjust my perception accordingly (even if it changes nothing on my thoughts regarding the creation of a plothole). Thanks guys.

The funny thing is that the 'tuffli' tribble variant is heretic's personal tribble. And yours truly may or may not have jumpstarted that bake the tuffli assignment by threatening to torture said tribbles earlier.
I had another Doff mission idea: Funeral ceremony. Like in Wrath of KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN (I think it was) where they buried Spock at (in?) space. It could come up after you get defeated in space combat or something.

We can't really specifically trigger assignments based off of a recently-occurring combat, unfortunately, though a funeral assignment could happen more randomly.

Are you able to track DOff assignment success, and assign new DOff assignments based on success or failure or previous assignments? i.e. Could a 'Funeral' DOff assignment be triggered by a 'disaster' DOff assignment failure?

Yes...sort of.
So, we could have it automatically start a new funeral assignment, but the only way that would work is if the chance of death was 100% on disaster, and we don't normally let green/blue/purple quality duty officers die in assignments, just go to sick bay, so we'd have to require that you put a white quality duty officer on it or let you risk killing a higher quality duty officer.
We can also have an assignment require another assignment to have been completed before the second assignment can appear, but that could be days or even weeks later.
In other words, there is a possibility of doing this or something like it, but it would definitely be a different classification of assignment type, and would require some careful setup work.

Its really pretty simple. Store a tribble in a container (either your main inventory or your character's equipment slots) with the right food, and eventually the food will turn into a new tribble. STO wiki has a handy guide here that shows you what food to feed to what tribble.
Just be careful you only have one food and one tribble there, as otherwise the wrong tribble may eat the wrong food!
Here's a question for all of you: If there was one kind of assignment that you would like to see in the game, what would it be?
I have two for you that I have previously mentioned and described how they would work in the "Fleet Starbase Summary Concept Beta" thread in my sig, although these are for mid term implementation rather than short term.
Retrieve scientific research data from an enemy Fleet Starbase.
Intelligence has identified a Fleet Starbase in enemy territory which is significantly advancing their research far beyond our own. Infiltrate the Fleet Starbase, secure the research data and then wipe their system memory banks.
Time to completion 1d
Reward EC, merits, badges, etc. and research points towards upgrading your own fleet starbase.
Requires TBD
Sabotage structures aboard an enemy Fleet Starbase.
Intelligence has identified a Fleet Starbase in enemy territory which has fabricated a significant amount of structures and are advancing their production output far beyond our own. Infiltrate the Fleet Starbase, and sabotages primary structures disrupting their production output.
Time to completion 1d
Reward EC, merits, badges, etc. and possibly territory control points or intelligence points and most definitely an increase in your own Fleet Starbase morale.
my girlfriend badly wants one of these, but they're practically non-existent. With STO going f2p I'm hoping sh'll be happy with just Tribbles though if this assignment Heretic's mention were to create a new breed of Tribble similar to a Critter she would be ecstatic! LoL

Would it be possible to trigger it off of the death penalty system?
If I have a damaged system I've obviously gotten blown up in battle. So if I have a damaged system present on my ship perhaps that could unlock this as a shipboard assignment?

Does that mean the Vulcan Love Slave HoloBOff is already a DOff thing, or that you're going to escalate it to the full-blown mission folks?

I love a bit of risk Some high-risk espionage assignments that have high rewards at possibly a high price (death a green/blue/purple) would be awesome.

One more reason for the KDF to fight this menace.
At the very least, this might mean that the great songs sung in honour of glorious battle against the tribble threat might finally be justified

Ah the tribble mutation known as Krites. Let the great tribble hunt begin.

Watched all four of those movies recently, had to because my gf had never even heard of them! I love them and have done since I was a kid.
