I enjoyed Starblazers, but I gotta say, the original Japanese version of the theme (link) (and it's the original opening set to the new animated Yamato film that was released last December) has always been one of my favorites.
To be honest, those versions I have on my iPod, as well as the American version from Season 1.
How about all those John Hughes movies in the 80s?
Dear Mr. Vernon:
We accept the fact that we had to sacrifice a whole Saturday in detention for whatever it was we did wrong. But we think you're crazy to make us write an essay telling you who we think we are. You see us as you want to see us: in the simplest terms and the most convenient definitions. But what we found out is that each one of us is a brain
and an athlete
and a basket case
a princess
and a criminal.
Does that answer your question?
Sincerely yours,
the Breakfast Club
I didn't get to watch all the shows that were out there, only a few cartoons were ever shown on Dutch tv.....the rest I watched on Belgian,British and German channels,so I missed out on quite a few.
Man.....Sky Channel's Fun Factory made my weekends in those days.:D
See..You have to be careful about some things that showed up on TV from maybe the 50s to the mid 80s and into the 90s.....There are several shows that were local market only.
Like if I talk about Captain Noah, or Starstuff....Few people would recognize them...but they shaped my interests in the early 80s.
I was a TV kid from the late 70s until I graduated high school in 92...so I know a lot of shows....some I missed...and some were just not broadcast anywhere in the Philadelphia area....
One of my favorite things to watch was USA Cartoon Express...Exposed me to a LOT of older cartoons, like Hair Bear Bunch, Devlin, The Great Grape Ape....and others.

Yeah, I do have to wonder how wide spread stuff like Silverhawks was. Most people I talk to about old cartoons don't even recognize it. Or maybe it just wasn't as popular? I dunno.

I never saw it. I don't know where it aired...but I know I never saw it in Philly.
In the 80's... i was but a wee lad, an 86'er I am. But I do recall the joys of the 80's from my youth when they were replayed to me by my parents.
On a side note. Mr. Hravik. You continue a tradition for which I intend to continue upon my Engineer reaching Rear Admiral. After all were ever there is an Enterprise, there need be a North Carolina to provide cover fire.

I am still waiting for Netflix to upload those. Born in '82 myself.
Which begs the question, why does every cartoon group need a Gorilla sidekick?
Who says the Gorilla is the sidekick....:D
Don't you have a gorilla sidekick? Everyone I know has one. What's wrong with YOU?
How about all those John Hughes movies in the 80s?
Sixteen Candles
The Breakfast Club
Weird Science
Pretty in Pink
Ferris Bueller's Day Off
Some King of Wonderful
To name a few.
Only to lead to the dark roads traveled by Jay and Silent Bob (See Dogma for an explanation)
No! I was given a freaking chimp. Who do I file a complaint with?
I had that movie recorded on tape the summer I turned eight. By the time I turned nine, I had worn the tape out watching it.

Definately remember The Littles and Heathcliff.
I vaguely remember The Littles, definitely Heathcliff.
So I don't exist? If that's true, why haven't I vanished yet?
I also remember when someone in Chicago used him to interrupt local TV, including an episode of Doctor Who
I miss the Thundercats. Seen Bravestarr once while we were on vacation in TN. Transformers is on Hub here now.

Voltron
G.I. JOE
Bah....Vehicle Force Voltron sucked.....GO LIONS! (And not of the Detroit variety)
(Yes, the Indiana Jones, Star Wars, and Star Trek movies are a given)
The Pirate Movie (1982)
Krull (1983)
The Ice Pirates (1984)
Dune (1984)
The Last Starfighter (1984)
Enemy Mine (1985)
Again, these are just a few.
I freely admit that is one musical I love to watch.
