Ahh the 80's! How much I miss your Casey Kasem's top 40's, your golden age of awesome cartoons, the Breakfast Club, and your Weird Science!
Man those were some awesome days! Days that were chock full of Thundercats, GI Joe, Transformers, The Centurions, M.A.S.K., and lets not forget the poor mans Transformers, The Go Bots!
Man I'm getting all nostalgic here! Where did I put my Atari 2800, NES, and Commodore 64? Time to crank up Joan Jett and the Blackhearts on my iPod!
Everybody else does too, except for maybe Yoko Ono
I put the blame where it lies...John Lennon. He is the one that married Yoko. He is the one that decided to become a goofball hippie. He is the one that broke up the group. He couldn't make music worth a darn without the rest of the Beatles.
Hey Shark, how about this Transformers Theme from 1986, done by the group Lion?
<adopts best Comic Book Guy voice> They were called White Lion (at least they were according the label on the Transformers the Movie soundtrack on cassette, which I rescued from the bin when my college roommate tossed all his cassettes in favor of CDs. I also got the soundtrack from Dan Ackroyd's 'Dragnet' and two of the Indiana Jones movie soundtracks, among others).

Thank you sir for that correction. I didn't think LION was right, but White Lion definately sounds right.
Talk about memory lane......I remember every show and cartoon mentioned within this thread with the exception of Star Lost. I don't remember that one.:)
Starlost TV series opening (link)
(Yes, it was bad - and 100% shot on 1 inck videotape. Walter Keonig had a recurring role (well two episodes as an alien who found the Ark)
I got to thinking about this. There are some people who weren't born or grew up in the 80's. So, for those of us who think this stuff is great and are going down memory lane, we have to learn to look at it through this younger generation's eyes on how they see it. If you click on the above link, it takes you to a vid of Men Without Hat's Safety Dance. Now, under the video, to the right, you will notice a button that says "1911". If you click on this, it makes the video look like it was produced in 1911. This is how the younger generation looks at the stuff we love from the 80's.
Too bad, because they are really missing out on some good stuff.
I enjoyed Starblazers, but I gotta say, the original Japanese version of the theme (link) (and it's the original opening set to the new animated Yamato film that was released last December) has always been one of my favorites.
"Funky Town" by Lipps Inc. Even if you weren't there in the 80s, you've probably heard it somewhere else. It has been in a lot of commercials, documentaries, and various movies.

I think we need to strap you down and force you to listen to everything in the 80's until you change your mind!
i didn't say it was all bad, just 90% of it, and 99% of disco

You know, ever since I first saw this back in the 80's I always hear Come On Feel The Noize at the start of that song. :P
Edit: The forum sensors the proper spelling of the song. >.<

That's ok Raven, just keep up with this thread, and you, too, can become a child of the '80s.

Already read the entire Bloom County series. What else is there to know?
Well there was a Flock of Seagulls and a gas crisis.

Couldn't get away.
