At least it is one thread instead of a couple hundred, just keep it all in here, and maybe, just maybe Cryptic will keep a eye on some of the really valid reasons for and against( im for though). If it gets big enough maybe they will say " hey, lets speed this up or decide against so this thread/issue dies.

    It comes down to:

    Want ! vs. Don´t want !

Both sides (as if it would be so easy to say there are just two sides) can argue as much as they want, but none of them can ultimately proof that they´re right. I have seen anything from logical deduction to stubborn quote wars on this matter, and at this point i go with "let the Devs decide". :)

such negativity, cant we all just get along? we are the Federation, well except for the discontents/Klingons.
This is suppose to be a little levity, hope no one is offended.

In all honesty, i could care less about the title, it just seems this is getting the most replies so may as well be the one that everyone uses, as long as we can keep it civil, and have a genuine discourse( didn't use argument because most think its a bad thing) it will benefit the game.

The Devs will look at the C-Store $ to be made by simply taking the tier 2 Connie and adding some weapon slots and some BO chairs and poof - Tier 5 Connie. I think even the Don't-Wants know they are going to lose this one. :D

Thats the thing; they already have. These ships are already in game, and there are already two T5 ships whose design dates back 129 years before STO's time period(T5 Excelsior and BOP). The discussion is really moot, but it makes some people feel better to complain about something that has already been decided and isnt going to change. So let them. Its great entertainment :o

I agree with you (far too often actually, it´s creepy). So for my personal delight, please continue posting. :D

Actually of the three major threads this one is the smallest, and is only getting bigger because more and ore people are arguing and bickering (which apparently was the purpose of the thread) and the Dev's probably are not going to respond to a thread with a very antagonistic title and only a bunch of arguing posts (unless of course to close it).

As a whole i think the thread has been quite civil, except for the few individual posts.

I'd have to disagree. This thread has been far from civil.

Really? Everyone has been pretty polite to me. Maybe its just you? :D

Aside from the people agreeing with each other, people have have not been very kind, pardon me. :D

Seems like maybe a perception issue. You may be percieving the negativity to your point of view as negativity directed at you. I'm sure you are an absolutely fine human being that the majority of us just disagree with.

(humor...just kidding.....I'm not even sure what side of the fence you are on in this issue anymore):D

Sorry, i couldn´t hear you over the sound of exploding Sovereigns, while i have tea and snacks on my T5 Connie bridge. :D

Anyway, the Connie is obviously a cruiser. What would you like to see, a more tactical or a more scientific leaning ? Or even an escort with a cruiser leaning ? Special power (500% dmg against Sovereigns) or no special power ?

Apart from the silly parts, i´m actually serious, i swear. :o

Between bickering, name calling, repeating the same arguments over and over again. I wouldn't call this polite.

But I'm sure you will all attack me for this or mock me or something like that. :D

Your the one doing the bickering, no one else. There are some valid things in here, jsut like in the other thread, which you seem to think your the police of. You intentionally trying to in flame a issue, while i jsut had a simple reply and question. Try to keep it in one or the other, but don't derail each thread.

Don't forget the D'kyr and Marauder! Both are from the 2150s and at T5!

Okay...question for the pro/anti/don't-care groups. If Cryptic made a T5 TOS Connie that was only purchasable from the C-Store how many people would by it for 1,200 Atari Tokens? *edit* How many sales would be made

Just take a guess cause there is no right or wrong answer. I just want your opinion.

Seeing as cruisers in STO tend to lean towards a Engineering style of play, keep it in line with that. Has nothing to do with wanting to kill any other cruiser of same tier( in the regards to this thread).

I think all anyone wants is more options and more ship diversity as the game progresses. If some want a Tier 5 Connie, so be it, is they want a Tier 5 Miranda, i say so be it. It would all have the benefit of making the game more enticing to new or returning players. Isn't that what we all want?

I probably wouldn´t because the ship looks too old for my tastes, but hey, who am i to tell others what they can like/buy. :)

Usually the people crying about this are just ****y about "canon violations".

    1. It's a game.

    2. In terms of canon, Star Trek has itself has more canon violations than STO does. But they can't deal with it, so they complain.

Well yah it;s a game, but that doesn't mean it can't try it's hardest to stick to canon.

And while it does have some that AGAIN is no reason to throw canon out the window. 5 tv shows 11 movies lots of different writers, yah there is gonna be some continuity errors. BUT it still holds up better than some movies hold up on there own! :p

And being so hostile is a good way to get an infraction and your post edited, thus nullifying your point.

Now I have actually been called a canon TRIBBLE, and a purist and all that, but I actually support the idea of crafting your ships up to the mythical tier 6. ships can be upgraded, I think it makes sense. But, It should a whole HECK of a lot more difficult you make a Miranda fight at that level (Nearly impossible) than a Tier 5 cruiser. Ya know, like TONS of anomlies required and maybe even like a time thing. Like it takes 1 actual day to upgrade on tier. (Way shorter than it ACTUALLY should)

So I think, even though I am a canon purist , if they do it the right way, then yes it should be in the game.

That doesn´t factor in for me, if i wanted it, i would pay for it. I really don´t expect anymore free ships to be released anyway. :)
