The anniversary, last week's featured episode, now this week's...VERY embarrassing for Cryptic
Also this is why I don't even bother on Saturdays anymore. I think I'm gonna focus my weekends in STO around making sure all my junk is up on the Exchange so it can be bought by the folks who are in-world, assuming they can get online...
It's been an hour lol. I know I know that was expected time.
Log back in in a few hours, this was to be expected, Cryptic has never really solved the problem with client overload (just put band-aids in place). While the root of the problem is that it runs not only this game (holodeck) but also tribble and another completely different game and who knows what else. It could also run there espresso machines in the lobby and the heating coil's in there office chairs.

It will be more than an hour
Is it to be expected then, your going to post this SAME exact post every other page or so?
While the downtime is a slight inconvenience, I do have to agree with some of the other posters that have said this is a definite sign that STO has arrived. Nice to see the amount of player base growth and demand that's there for the game now. At least we know for sure that it will be around for a good while, and we also know Cryptic will be looking into purchasing some bigger servers...lol
Actually ... I'm not so sure this is the case.
I'm afraid that STO has more folks that only log in for the weekly episodes, than they have that play daily.(I have no proof of this, but just the feeling I get on saturdays .... that the population MORE than doubles).
That isn't necessarily a good thing for an MMO because eventually, people decide that one day a week, and only when a new series is being released, isn't enough to keep paying the monthly fee.
yes cool good come back... but if you released it to tribble first it would crash that then we would not get this TRIBBLE every week
lol
It isnt the mission or any other software related issue that is the problem, its the load on the servers, you will never get the same amount of ppl on a test server as on a live server to test it and even if you could its not the same hardware as the live one therefore this problem cant be found and fixed anywhere but on live.
The mission has no problems with it, it isnt bugged, the server and the load balancer are overloaded
you guys might want to call it "Standard Saturday Afternoon Maintenance Downtime" instead of emergency maintenance since last week you had the same thing happen :-)
They clearly fix something when they take the servers down, so why not make it a permanent fix? Or do it automatically as part of the FE release process?
hmmm what about career officers? Atari Tokens pleeeeze
QFE. I'd love to get compensation. Especially since this is primetime for me. I'd like at least 500 atari tokens/cryptic points for everyone (career officer or regular subscriber) or some form of compensation.

.....OR just MAYBE they can fix it so it doesn't happen weekly.
I think an additional 5 day account extension is warrented for all the aggravation though.

Cryptic time is a lot like valve time, except slower.

It's all that travelling at light speed - time slows down for them, but we're still sat here like chumps.
We demand it!

Hey, Cryptic is a good role model, they do the same thing every day (Copy & Paste), It is a virtual your screwed measure or VYSM for short....
Wonder what Evil Kirk & Spock do during downtime there?
