  • Veno's ARE intended to be half magic, half melee. I personally dislike the LA build, it does reduce magic as extremely as an HA/AA build does; without adding enough defensive benefit to compensate. The increased crit scares me too - crit's usually a bad thing for me. But I can see it being nice for PVP. Vit hybrid - we get…
  • Worked fine for me. By "In a row" we mean "Click - Life gate - Click - Life gate" A death gate between them shuts it again. It's not good enough to go "Click - Life gate - click - death gate - click life gate again" But if the first thing happens (just luck, life gates do seem to re-randomise each time) and it doesn't…
  • Ok, wow. Just tried it and yep, you're right. Harc can hold off every single Avalanche guy in OVS at once. 30+ mobs, without breaking a sweat. Ok, they don't hit that hard, and I'm not convinced it's a *useful* thing to do. But wow.
  • Evolved the herc; got some crappy PVP thing (unseelctable by players, and reduce damage from players... uh, no. If it's the cople of times a year I'm fighting players, it'll be the nix thanks.) rerolled and got "Raving" L2 craze (2% chance of attack rate buff) L3 demon hunting (+9 slaying levels) Stats: 23/65 27/35 30/40…
  • Well, not a real barb, but. I just evolved the herc (did the nix first) and wow. I'm killing off Blackhole Devourer (BHD) like he's a boss from 59 or something. Three or four spells between heals. Jewelscalen (the pimp dragon. C'mon, he's purple, named jewels, and always has two lady dragons following him) is caker than…
  • Dunno about other servers; but on Dreamweaver pickup squads are usually quite laid back. The one exception seems to be warsong; which no one teaches, and all the calls are always "Require to solo {available pavillion list}" So not gone there in a pickup gruop yet; probably won't.
  • Yeah, can't complain too much - you get most of the tokens even when you fail horribly. It's a shame that it's so hard to tell what the guards are doing, and even harder to make them change to the right thing. Anyway, my score was finally positive! Just. First few waves ok, and kept the foxes and turtles out. But once…
  • Well, to be honest - yeah, it's kinda a sucky requirement. But on the plus side - you do have a new way to level pets now. You can feed them lyceum tokens. You have to get *yourself* to 100, but, well, the same goes for using any other end-game item.
  • JJust checked - and no, it seems that you can't use a tame book to increase the skills you get from mood. Shame. Edit: Ok, one other very nice thing. The evolved nix is a full fledged GROUND pet as well. Mainly that means "Can go into instances" But one thing I think people haven't realised is .. it follows terrain now!…
  • I went with the nix first, as I don't actually tank all that often. And I got "Fierce". 40/72 attack, 3/20 defence, 18/20 HP, 53/90 attack level, 34/50 defence level. The skills are: Mind: Add attack and defence levels (2) and Take less than half damage from players. Buff lasts for a good time (half an hour or more) Craze:…
  • You'll have trouble with phlebo and serious trouble with the dragonny thingy; but they're in "Give it a try" range, then - certainly with a gear bump. I think I started tanking them reliably around level 93 ish. I had a little more channel than you' but not a lot more. TT you're not going to be able to do much of 3-x and…
  • Yeah, I'm not sure WHAT happenned here. My foxform foxform is now "Doesn't drop max mp" but doesn't have the increased accuracy boost. And the pretty form is... identical to that; only pretty. Seems a bit of a waste, really.
  • Yes, he's a stunning surprise. And you either have to finish all the waves; or risk the devastator turning up and blowing you all away when you fail one because you're busying with glutton. Evil birdy boss!
  • Easier to list the few you can't. Polearm in 69. (Ok, he's actually just about possible if you are VERY fast on the 'follow me' button and are willing to kite him every time he lands the debuff axe. But it's not a sane option.) General wurlord TT2-2 and 2-3. The last boss in 2-3 (and, frankly, the penultimate one is just…
  • I'm kinda dissapointed now. I mean, the plot is completely ridiculous - but I'd hoped getting even more ridiculous would redeem it. Boring lazy pandas. Edit: But you must have time travelled, to go back and kill Sanzi. I mean, I was back in the past when I squadded with people to kill him. Wanmei timetravel is odd. (Hey! I…
  • What's the barb story, by the way? I know we fight the same guy at the end; but Venomancers get a long kill+fetch quest back in time to see how Niang-Hu and the Khatru Pup were once tiny and cute, and getting beaten up in FB19. And then the poor puppy had total puppy love for the foxy lady (his joke, not mine) and turned…
  • Yeah, very much mixed feelings about that. I did enjoy when people asked "What level is your pet" and being able to tell them, proudly, that my entire stable was at character level. Flying hercs is going to be very silly. And, practically speaking; I guess brings Jewelscalan, the pimp dragon, into my sights. (Oh, and I…
  • Well, in appreciation: I **** rainbows when I jump now. So yeah, the new foxform is kinda cool.
  • Must be said; they could REALLY use a public test realm. But some of the bugs that slip through do suggest they don't even do a "Ok, I can log my character on; and use a couple of skills" sniff test. The snowmen debacle springs to mind...
  • I've been told that you can do these quests on one character per level range, (per day?) per account.
  • Mmm...no. That would be seriously unfair to all the other classes that can't fight while mounted (and so have to put serious resources in to be able to move at 11m/s while fighting)
  • Ok, thoughts. That's a LOT of fetch quests. I guess they have to justify the huge cash-shop pricetag for the shortcut somehow. Quite an interesting story; though, yes, it uses timetravel AGAIN. Seriously wanmei, stoppit. And then a quite hard fight; with a boss who randomly despawns at about 20% health? That was odd. But…
  • And this will instantly lead to ninja'mc'looter to doing a "drop a single coin, pick it up; and now the mold is mine" tricks. Bad bad idea.
  • Archers are everyone except barbs and maybe a BMs worst nightmare. Massive phsyical damage, from further away than you can shoot back? Not fun.
  • All these complex suggestions on randomising loot is just BEGGING someone to come along and game the system. Random works out fine in the long run. And I agree - no one knows the exact aggro formula; but there's been a fair bit of investigation and work done to reverse engineer it.
  • Each hit generates aggro. As well as the amount of damage. So an AP-spasmo-sin will steal aggro, even if the damage they're doing is pitiful. Drops go to the squad that did the most damage. Not always the same thing. There's also the whole "PWI server hiccoughs and doesn't always give timely results, especially when lag is…
  • I'd also like to point out that if you want herbs for profit; then anything that made them easier to get hold of would reduce demand, and thus the profit.
  • Buy them from other players. That's really the only other option.
  • Frankly; it it's only three levels behind - just use it as your normal everyday pet. It'll catch up pretty quickly.
  • Talk to the elder to upgrade your tradeskills. There's a minimum level requirement, though.
