Clearly PWI is gonna lose a lot on that change cuz many ppl will simply stop charging zen, 20% increase(when u compare EUR to USD) is quite a lot and many ppl just won't do it.

    THIS ^^

It won't take long and then its bye bye eurpean servers because they won't have any income anymore.

I just googled EU VAT and read the policies from the union's site. PWI has to charge the fees because they are considered to be an import service, and in the name of local competition, the union imposed higher fees on import services/goods. If, you are being charged by your credit card companies, that is a separate charge as it is coming from the credit card companies VAT fees for your use of that good as well. This is not PWI's fault, this one is the world economies fault, give Frankie and them a break. I am sure Frankie will start burning the midnight oil to try and pass on your concerns, but face it, this is to be expected with so many countries going broke from the massive social programs everyone has. Want to rage at anyone about taxes, rage at your local representation and countries leadership. Frankie can not do squat about the world's economy, he is a community manager in a video game, not the president of a country =\

I don't know why so much people get mad. It is not a PWE controled issue, it's a economical one. Yes, in the short or long run, they will lose money. But I do have to say something..

Ain't the game free and cashopping a OPTION ?

Yes the company did **** up at some point by putting GEAR in boutique (well in packs), it lead to people spedning more and become somewhat more lazy. In a way it is understandable that not everyone has 12 hours per day to farm for a certain piece and want a "reward" for their hard working real life hours but still..

I think that if boutique would have stayed focused on "esthetic" stuff (mounts, flyers, fash, charms, and few random stuff), the game would have indeed receive less money from loyal players. But in a way, it would have seen a somewhat brighter future where not everyone puts their week's salary into gambling for packs (or on charms for TW/PvP)

The raise is sad for those living in those countries, but do people have to really get that mad cause they can't/won't put as much cash as they would have wanted in a F2P game ?
Proud supporter of the new expansion. Sure it has it's share of bugs, like any games. But for a pure farmer/grinder, that's a whole lot of new mobs to go beat up b:chuckle

Well thats the end of PWI for me i am not paying and extra 20% for the gold. I live in Britain and we opted out of using the euro and it seems now many of the other member states are talking of pulling out of the euro to. I am not playing on a eauropean server but on the american ones so the EU rules don't apply. i am not importing anything so duty is not applocable. I suspect this is just another ploy by PWI to make more money so i will investigate the so called tules further.

Oh wow. What a shame, I did always like getting a nice value from the GBP - USD conversion rate... this is now too much. Why don't you just give a 20% free bonus zen offer to users paying in the EU, to even out the costs?

Too many posts so I apologise if someone said what I'm about to say.

Okay everyone being regarded by this new law involving purchases with Euro might be affected (I will not however). Those that do not charge Zen will not be affected.

Let's say PWi was paying 20% VAT on every purchase that was made, now let's assume that 20% of all of those charging Zen with Euro get angry and Ragequit or refuse to charge Zen. Guess what?

If it comes down to 20% less purchases, PWi isn't losing, nor gaining anything.

Continue being stubborn because you feel like you're being ripped off, but in reality (Aka the real world, where you can purchase useful things that you can touch, see & even smell), you were being ripped off in the beginning for virtual property, you lost the game before it started.

That's only half true. This will surely affect gold prices (if less people charge, the demand for gold in boutique tends to raise, and the offer to lower. Some quite obvious thing is supposed to happen there - I'm not an economist, though, so I might be missing something there).

Well, that all depends if you thought the fun and entertainment you were paying for was was worth the cost. Also, people saying that a lack of charging zen wont effect PWE are pretty much missing the point, the increase is actually way out of alignment (theyre asking for more Euros than the VAT would require).

    1. My country doesnt use Euros, so we are not effected by this law.

    2. We actively opted out of the Euro currency, so again as above.

    3. Even in Euros, we are paying much much more than before (What I once payed 31 GBP for now costs 39, that is more than a 20% increase in cost).

Okay so you's are paying more, so what?
Before the U.S's economy shat a brick, charging AUD was considerably more expensive then what the Euro-USD rate is now.

Wages earned in Europe also equivilate to roughly the same earnings in the U.S & Australia (figure-wise, not post currency difference), if anything Europe is still getting a better deal then anyone else.

lucky me i don't charge zen anymore.

Also it's a bit ridiculous for those who charge zen. Because the difference is so huge now. First with dollars you basically paid something like 145 euro for 200 zen. Now it's 180...

I don't see the problem. The Euro is sinking faster than a rock, down 0.17 in 4 months! At this rate soon it'll be US players complaining the european players are getting cheaper zen, PWE is just about 1 year ahead of the times. And people really wonder why these new policies/laws are imposed.

Okay... so this makes no sense.
You're paying more with any payment method even though you should should get more since dollars are less in euro...

And wtf is up with prepaid cards. 9euro for 1000 zhen. How the heck does that work? << Those cards come as 10, 20 or 50 cards. Where's the other 1 euro gone that should be on them...?

Too bad this isn't working. Even on the prepaid $ cards they charge 45 euro ($63) for 5300 zen. Just tried it.

    Description Unit price Qty Amount
    OffGamers
    Item# US$10 RixtyCode $10.00 USD 1 $10.00 USD
    Subtotal $10.00 USD
    Total $10.00 USD
    Payment $10.00 USD

    works for me.
if ur credit card account is based on EU then it will always convert $ payment to euro. i have an american express card with a $ account
Forgot to mention that even if my country is in EU it is not in EuroZone. We dont pay in euro. Thats maybe involved in the matter.

Still costs $13 when you go to checkout so the change has also reflected the price of the gamecards.
