    I find it funny how anyone I tell about MLP outside of PWI/gaming/anime find me to be insane/*** (I'm straight) but almost anyone on PWI is like "o...m...g, ma fellow brony!"

    And it seems like the new MLP movie coming out got its first trailer. The animation seems a bit too jerky and stiff, similar to that of Littlest Pet Shop that recently aired as a new cartoon.

    I actually find it quite interesting xD I'm ok with the whole concept since it's just a movie. It's not completely related to the actual series and if it does turn out to be bad then it can just be forgotten (like the Avatar movie lol) and ignored.

    I do have faith it will be alright though and I usually find situations of characters changing worlds/appearance/bodies to be funny sometimes.

    And I agree Desdi. There's so much drama on the fandom right now because of it XD. The fandom sure has changed. Sure it may sound cheesy (the plot and whatnot), but we all did give MLP: FiM a try, so why not give this a try as well?

    I'm not going to go through the effort of seeking out a movie theater to watch it though, because the closest one is quite far from me actually. :I

    It looks like it f:faint I ended up on the tumblr tag for it today and I decided to browse through it.
    There's a lot of hate going on at the moment and so much drama and panic.

    I can't really blame people for fearing the outcome but I wish they would first watch it before judging. I've read into it a little more today and found the story-plot sounding like not something I'd enjoy but I still want to watch because I say anything.

    ..and like I said. It's just a movie. If it's bad we'll just shove it on the side and pretend it never happened b:avoid

    I'm actually quite disappointed and ashamed of what the brony community has done recently in terms of reacting to EqG. The amount of negativity from them lead to them throwing horrible insults and threatening DHX staff to the point where a few of the cast and crew who make the whole show (MLP: FiM included) are actually considering leaving due to the fact that they cannot handle the negativity, and do not want to deal with it.

    I understand their want to leave because there have been times where I've received negativity on the videos/content I created, and even though it's just a small amount (1-2 people at most for me) of negativity, it's enough to dishearten someone to the point where they don't want to continue what they do. I'm pretty sure that's what's happening to them.

    They've been nervous since day 1 about the reactions that would appear when they release their first trailer of EqG, and the way a lot of bronies reacted... it's shameful as a fandom.

    I'm really looking forward to this movie now though.

    Threatening the staff does seem quite extreme - I mean, even though I hate this with the intensity of 1000 suns I dont think going that far is going to do any good. I guess those who've gone to such lengths have forgotten that we're still not Hasbro's target demographic, despite any recognition they may show to us.

    Haven't paid much attention since the last season finale, to only find out of a movie with a humanized concept of MLP.


    Saw the trailer, and I'll be honest, I cringed. I think its just over doing it at this point, but I assume its canon to the show?

    It's a spin-off and not directly involved/related to the actual MLP series. It does have a connection but it can be viewed a separate thing.

    Keep in mind that Hasbro is a toy company that just wants to sell toys. They figured they can introduce a new series of dolls based on MLP, that turned out to be popular, to make them sell better.

    Overdoing it? Probably but Hasbro just wants to make money by selling toys. For as long as this MLP generation remains popular, they'll try to milk it and then move onto the next MLP generation or who knows what else.

    The crew involved in MLP seemed to be nervous about the reactions to this humanized MLP.

    I noticed synchtube died a while for some reason but alternatives have popped up.

    I've setup a new pwiponies room at http://synchtube.6irc.net/r/pwiponies

    It supports external JS and I ported over almost all the old PWIPonies fun stuff. (PWI emotes etc.) Maybe it will be more successful than the last one!

    I'm starting to have second thoughts on EqG now. It feels like they're really sticking back to the whole stereotype of girls, rather than sticking with Faust's ideals of uni-ism, or whatever it's called where everything is for everyone.

    I'm quite neutral towards EqG.

    I think the designs are cute (keep in mind it's supposed to be for little girls so I understand they are quite simplified/similar whatever) but I have to admit I like the ones in their promo art more (Anthro fan here b:chuckle).The plot..meh. I'm skeptical about it but I'm still curious.

    Overall, I'm excited but my expectations aren't too high.

    It's still quite sad to see what Hasbro is doing though and I've seen some of the things Lauren Faust has been posting on her twitter. Quite sad :/
