After seeing this I'm starting to seriously doubt that allowing character modification was the right decision. :s Some of these hairs aren't even supposed to be released yet. Btw, does it only work on barbs or can other classes exploit this as well?

this only works on barbs, no other classes can use them it wont work on them, i have tried lol

<_< But the second we mess with their cash shop, everything may come to a screeching halt.

I would only do this if I'd bought the hair first and equipped it, which barbs can do anyway it just normally doesn't show up. Good to hear it doesn't work on other classes, though.

Unless it is private server, even if you have codes of hair fash from boutique, its not gonna work.

I'm not sure if those are entirely legal. I mean to even get the codes requires going outside the character creation screen and that always been not allowed. We'll need GM clarification on this I think. Especially since it seems to be some kind of exploit since it doesn't work on all classes. :P

To tell the truth it's not really harmful if it's barb only. Barbs can't equip hair fashion so there is no lost revenue.

True, it's still raising red flags for me though. But as long as it's only for barbs, I'm fine with it I suppose.

    Hey folks,

Just letting everyone know that we're going to be reviewing the situation to see whether giving hats to barbarians falls under the modified INI rules.

I apologize for not already having a clear rule on this point, but the PWI team will need to give this serious consideration, and I want to make sure there's no confusion moving forward.

I should have an answer to this question some time early next week.

Again, I apologize for this confusion, and I hope you'll forgive me for not already having an answer. b:thanks

First of all, thanks ever so much for this detailed guide Venus, it's amazing!

I was just wondering, when using the male hairstyles on female characters, is it possible to change the size of the hair in any way? It's the first time I'm trying this, and I've found that the size of the hair is way too big to fit on the female head. It's like it's floating above and around my character's head, and it's not attached at the forehead, so it looks kind of silly. I've only tried with a female archer so far, so I don't know if it's just with that preset or what, but I was hoping you'd know more about it.

I attached an image of it, to make it a bit clearer, though it's still hard to see since you can't actually rotate the image yourself.

The dir files aren't the ini files and those aren't the ones we've been allowed to edit. :P If you have no customization data in there that means you don't have any saved presets in the saved presets box. Just open the client and save your venomancers preset to get a file generated there.

Did you make your venomancer on a different computer. That may be why it wasn't saved.

The Veno i want to edit is on my wifes computer, but, i think that from the start i missunderstood wich files there was the target for the new codes, being the copy of a saved preset and not the files in userdata/character/characterXX (XX=class/gender number)

As I understand it now, all editing is:
    /userdata/character/customize/<folder name>/<name of preset copy>

Yeah I noticed the same thing. Seems like male models got bigger head. I don't think there's anything that can be done, they should adjust male/female heads to same base size.

Not sure if this is well known, or even helpful but I'll put this here anyway. There's always those who might not know.

ini changes are dynamic. This allows for easy tweaking without burning through makeovers. You can keep your char creation window open and not confirm or anything yet. Just save the ini, and then reselect the preset and the new changes will update.

For me, the best way is to save it (like you said), then go back out to create new character part. Make a new character, edit it there, and when you are satify, save and go back on your main and select that preset. No matter what you won't waste an scroll + time (scrolls have 30min CD if you dunno yet).

Also for people like me that actually give a damn about how the mini pic looks like, I can edit as many time I want and see how it looks like before I change the actual toon. Yeah, I don't care how pretty the toon look, ugly display pic is ugly.
