The IP address is not something meant to be public.
Only those who need it should have access to your IP, and those people are not players who may start searching where you live and gain some personal info via facebook and start contacting you irl.

Example: When you search the IPs of your contacts in Skype and MSN, you will reach to their ISP only. Further info will not be allowed.

Um, they can't start contacting you RL with an IP unless they have a legal reason to, like for instance, you're trying to **** a server or file sharing copyrighted material, where they take a cease and desist/john doe lawsuit to your ISP who by law must fork over the information. Nextly, concerning this feature, the red message showing your last login info is only displayed to you. Why the word "public" was even mentioned, I have no idea, because it's either completely incorrect (depending on the context you used, if it was implied that the red msg entering the game is displayed to everyone instead of just the person logging into the game via your account), or it's simply irrelevant to this situation.

As a sidenote, it's incredibly easy to get someone's IP address anyways, plus, if someone had my IP, they take it to dnsstuff.com and they would get "Toronto, Canada", however, I live in GTA (Greater Toronto Area) in a town with over 600,000 people. Even if they have the town I live in, they need more specific info than that or else they are going to be looking for years. Having an IP address really isn't going to do much and those who are smart enough to brute force someone's machine by having an IP would find it anyways by port scanning IP ranges, and certainly would not give a flying **** about your pixel junk in a F2P MMO.
