Change the rules for INI edits

And yes, when I said your suggestion was more Ideal, that meant that if PW was the kind of company to do things because we want them to, then I'd like that to be implemented over this rule change.
But a rule change is more realistic. Much more realistic.

Agreed on the ideal vs realistic bits. The devs arent going to make anything new for us, but it is fully within the GMs rights to change the rules regarding ini edits for our version.

OKAY, I saw that barb preset, and I just have to say, that makes me wonder all the more how and why INI edits aren't yet allowed.

This is carelessness and if an INI edited preset exists who are they to tell us we can't do it?

Come on PWI have some sense and fairness this battle is getting ridiculous

Indeed, but how many people will create such tiger barbs and truly work on them? That is the question. Myself I could not... I cannot look at them without laughing.
Besides, I do have a lv 50 tiger barb, but I'll keep him as he is right now. b:laugh

A month or so back, my in game husband went panda barb to prank me because he knows how much I hate the look of panda barbs. I think they look stupid, and ironically every time I've squadded with a panda barb he has been fail.

I commented one day "no husband of mine is gonna be a panda barb >:O" when he asked what I'd do if he was a panda.

....a few days later he told me he had a surprise for me and his former wolfness had been replaced with pandaness and that was the "surprise" D,:.

But yesterday I saw that hilarious preset...and I finally got him back

Anyway, this new preset makes me think this INI edit thing really is a joke to them. Frankie did say it was technichally not an INI edit because the devs did it but something about this just doesnt feel consistent. Im lost really. The reaction to this barb preset has been overwhelmingly positive, how much longer will it make sense to them to keep INI edits banned?

I haven't seen any negative responses on the barb, also a lot more customization options became unlocked for them.

As long as the system won't be abused (stickfigures ._.) I don't see a point in not allowing it. Hell, they would have some extra time on their hands in the offices, they won't have to sort out who to ban anymore since it's completely random or something...

I decided to look around in sanc and see how much people have EG eyes on their chars... Just randomly clicking around... a LOT of people have them... I'm seriously tempted to just put them on my veno too...

I did try to explain why these matters didn't need to be treated as competitors after her comments; "this deserves more attention than that" and "support this over that". In the end it began to dawn on me the futility of my efforts, as her major rebuttal to one of the pressing concerns we wish to be handled with fairness by changing INI edit rules was literally the word "blah" accompanied by some trivial jibberings pertaining to her personal taste.

I find it would be best to leave that one alone at this moment and just try to focus on gaining more attention here. Many people, MANY people support this, but haven't shown their support here. We should try to get more voiced opinions

...Instead of having to rearrange the files to get the hair/eyes you want...why can't it just be available when you're creating a person. I mean, the first 3 races all shared the same. Why cant all 5 share them and nobody has to even touch the files.

This would be ideal, but the fact of the matter is that it is far less likely than a rule change, considering the fact that no version has implemented an actual change like this(while they all allow ini edits).

Changing the rules is far simpler, and far more likely. I myself cant think of a good reason why they would make race specific hair, or make a full color spectrum but only allow us to use certain dimensions of it. But that's how it was made, the best we can do for ourselves at this point would be to try to get the rules changed.

Almost everyone is a little stick with big heads in PW CN....why can't PWI have the same ability to edit .ini files. Even the creepieshly thin things are easily clicked on (the feet stay huge no matter what). If the original game allows it, PWI should allow it as well. Nothing harmful comes from doing so. It's not some sort of '**** of the game' it's nothing that affects the server side in a bad way, nothing that can allow you to have a advantage over another player, you can't make your character as fat as a house can only go so far in being thin/fat with the edits. It gives the game more 'creativity and difference'. What led me to play PWI instead of another MMO was mainly for the fact that you can customize your character (unlike other MMOs where everyone looks alike).

Just let us have more fun customizing our characters. I see some blood red sins/archer on my server at times i think they look interesting as well as full black characters.
