    Yea, I remember doing that, even I found it funny listening to people in Rad btching about it.

    And to the OP:

    Irregardless of how this may sound, after reading this entire thread I am left with one question...

    What gives anyone with less than average gear the right to **** and complain about how TW is conducted? Seriously, TW is meant to be competitive, if you don't want to be competitive, then don't TW. And, if you do TW, don't complain about being OHKO'd.

    Also, don't declare war on another guild that you know will wipe the fields clean with your bodies. If you do, then you should be prepared to be farmed and slaughtered.

    So, if TW isn't fun for you, either get competitive or stop, no one is destroying the fun except for you.

    Why does it have to be Rad forum, why not decorate your own enrage forum wth carebears?

    Our forum was pink with valentine i believe.

    I've heard that kittykat i think wanted to call Radiance, carebears at first. b:surrender

    But we're not as carebear as people would think. But i'm guessing it's more mature nowadays compared to other guilds, so that comes with respect.

    As for all those smaller factions. If you really enjoy TW's, either leave and join one of the bigger ones, or merge together into one or more factions instead of trying to be proud of a non factor guild.

    Oh...is that why my forum skin suddenly went all weird one day? I think it was never really turned back to the way it was; I hated the different link colors so I took them out, but I thought some of you wanted it so I didn't do anything about it.

    Well, I think that's a long enough break. :P Though it seems like we've gone to random off-topic banter in the meantime...



    There's way too much to reply to, so I won't be quoting anything. A select few of you did actually put some thought into your posts since I left, and I invite you to send me a (forum) PM to continue the discussion (or I may do the same myself). I appreciate those few people taking the time to think about all this, instead of just regurgitating the same old "shape up or ship out" **** that's been present in MMO populations for far too long to still be novel.

    I guess what surprises me the most is the fervor with which people can defend a position that is just plain indefensible. I expected a little bit of agreement, a little bit of thoughtful disagreement, and a few flat-out trolls, and that's what I got. What I didn't expect was for people to actually defend the idea that TW itself needed to be walled off only to those who can expend far too many resources on this game to be considered healthy.

    I get it, okay. You have your little ideal of "competitiveness" and you will defend it to the death, even if the PVP system degrades to the point of total unplayability save for those who personally line PWE execs' pockets. But even you guys know that PVP was far more balanced and respectable before packs came out. It's always your choice on whether you should adapt to it, ignore it, or quit. And if you choose to adapt by way of embracing it, fine... but don't kid yourselves. PVP now is a bloated, overpowered mess in comparison to what it was, and we all know it. I think the smartest among PWI's population were those who quit when they saw that ship sinking.

    A few of you even thought I wanted to be competitive against big factions with ridiculous gear outputs. I guess it doesn't matter what I say, much less actually think... because you guys are going to hear "waah, somebody has better **** than me." But, then, what can I expect? If you can't be bothered to understand what's going on, that's your problem and not mine.

    In the end, all I cared about was a way for smaller facs to be able to fight each other, in some organized fashion, if they so chose. And maybe TW isn't the right system for that. Maybe it's the guild bases (but I'm not holding my breath). But whatever solution does come for us (if one does at all), it still would have nothing to do with the big factions at all. You guys can still sit over on the other side of the map and brag about how you'll faceroll us just as soon as you reach us, if it helps you sleep better at night. We'll stare at you for a moment as you do that rant, and then we'll go back to our business. Nobody cares if you have the shiniest shovel in the sandbox as long as you're not interfering with others' enjoyment of it. But then, maybe that's the point... some people just do not have fun unless it's at the expense of others. And that position is indefensible.

    Which brings me to Enrage. Look, bullying and killfarming and all that stuff is deplorable regardless of what person or faction it comes from. And of course, I still do have a couple friends in Enrage (despite everything). Obviously only an idiot would judge a member based on their faction, or an entire faction on a few select members. But there's a line to be drawn in that, and those Enrage members (however numerous they may be) like to hide behind this defense and pretend it gives them carte blanche to do what they do.



    But I digress. A few people should be mentioned before I leave, in no particular order (most of the others, either I know personally or they just presented variations on the above):

    Anneliesse: I can think of quite a few colorful analogies for being Enrage's "PR Department," but to your credit, you at least seemed to bring up arguments with some manner of maturity... which is more than I can say for your, *cough* "superior." To say Eva partakes of the "sarcasm" you describe is one thing, but it's awfully convenient how people can hide behind "sarcasm" as an excuse for trolling, and poor trolling at that.

    Kiyoshi: You, sir, are an enigma. How anyone can maintain an opinion like yours and not be an elaborate troll just blows my mind. Whether you really believe the things you say or not, I think you can do a hell of a lot better with your free time (especially since you claim to have quit).

    Saeidon: I admit I was glad to see frankie's post, and my reaction to such was not 100% in sync with what I meant to say. I'm sorry you took it the way you did. All I can say is that I make no claims to my posts being perfect (nor should anyone). If you want to continue to discuss that, I would welcome a PM.

    Momento: Your posts are probably the most disappointing thing in this thread, in a way. At one point there you were making actual arguments, and starting to branch out into concepts that no one else was discussing (even though you felt the need to punctuate them with incendiary comments). And then all that got replaced by useless, blatantly offensive one-liners leading up to my last post on page 12 (I'd look at them again, but they seem to have been deleted or moderated out since I last posted). In 10+ years posting on various forums, I don't think I've ever seen someone shoot themselves in the foot quite like that.

    Knownase: Your contributions managed to be interesting while remaining mostly neutral, but that was probably by design. In a sense, you managed to do what Anne did with even less of the "sarcasm." Good show. Now get back to WC, there's a distinct lack of techno rave flowers. ;[

    Ahira: I like your suggestion... tiered TW maps are something I never thought of. I think the critical flaw in it would be deciding what makes up the tier differences, as there would be at least a dozen factors involved and at least half of them would be subjective, by nature. But things like this are what I like to see - not agreement per se, but constructive ideas. I notice also that you are (were?) in Conquerer, by your sig. I only wish Enrage had done what you guys did.

I needed a new heel for my shoe, so, I decided to go to Morganville, which is what they called Shelbyville in those days. So I tied an onion to my belt, which was the style at the time. Now, to take the ferry cost a nickel, and in those days, nickels had pictures of bumblebees on 'em. Give me five bees for a quarter, you'd say.

    Now where were we? Oh yeah: the important thing was I had an onion on my belt, which was the style at the time. They didn't have white onions because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big yellow ones...

    the tier idea: has been an idea i thought about long ago. it would be great except for one thing: whats to stop a guild from keeping within the lvl cap of a certain tier just so they could dominate it? in all honesty i could see a alt guilds being built exactly for this purpose. sorry, but its true and we all know it. perhaps you are correct, the smart ones got out when they saw the ship sinking with the very first pack sale. perhaps so, but i like this ship...and i'll probably sink with it

    Had sorta that problem in the last game I played ( Sash knows which ) .
    They made some PK arena's lvl based. All people did was make alt > level them to the cap > pimp them out in best gear > own the arena

    Well... if you or anyone else haven't notice yet. I only post during weekdays... and only during work hours. Kind of hard to do anything with my 10 minute of free time here in the office. To short to go anywhere worth while. On the other hand... its not like my gears is going to go obsolete (at this rate) anytime soon. So I can still enjoy logging on to one of the two dozen (are we at two dozen yet?) archers with 20k+ bow damage on HT. That and I solo frost for free for my friends... when they can convince me to get online.

    @Miugre : i usually do not read any of the pwe forums as it is always filled with full of non-making-sense comments coming from the usual trolls (except for some quality info i have been looking for) but i quite actually enjoyed your comments with proper english and reasonable answers and i do not shy to admit, i have become a fan of yours.

    @To all,
    If there are new chars being introduced, then there is a need to do quarterly map resets as everyone with new chars will be able to enjoy the tw fun. Old high players are the usual ones who makes this new toon along with some new ones who has recenlty joined in. Dont you think that your new toon also needs to show his/her strength in the endgame competition.
    Everyone will be benefited by this...old chars, who are generally equipped with ultra gears, can use their new char to fight other tw factions( with not-so-good set compared to yours), New players can have refreshing TW experience, Developers can gain some more money, and other factions can have chance to compete with par factions.

    All in all, it is quite refreshing to have a map reset and i can say that after i returned to play pwi after 5 months.

    flamers can flame on me but lol who on the green-white inked earth cares.b:cute

    you know, in the old days of pwi, your arguement would almost have merit. However, when a person can take a new class and lvl from 1-80 in just a couple short hours, and the gear for those characters are already readily available due to it being able to use the same gear as other classes, there really is no need to baby the server because of new classes.
