I presume this post will go on the bottom of the page, where no one will notice it, but:

From my point of view, this sale looks like a part of their effort to rebalance the game in the face of 5aps. I do not think that this sale represents all of everything that they are doing, but you might notice:

* 5aps is now cheaper to get, than before, for some assassins and archers, if you cash shop or if you contribute some of your in-game wealth to a cash shopper.
* The really high end gear you can get from this sale makes 5aps not so impressive (not useless by any means, but not always your best option now, in contexts where before it was your best option).
* Cheap rank 8 (and "cheaper than a new car" rank 9) means that some high level barbarians have a much better chance of holding aggro now, than they did before.

(I also get the idea that a bulk of the really unhappy voices here in the forums belong to people that were already exploiting 5aps. But of course, that is impossible to know for sure, and people can and will complain without having used 5aps.)

Anyways, I am betting on them introducing additional changes to make the rest of the game competitive with 5aps (I anticipate that new gear, updated monster AIs, new kinds of monsters, and new skills will all be working to shift 5aps from a dominating tactic to merely one of a variety of viable tactics).

And if they can turn a profit from the transition? Yes, I can actually imagine that they might want to be doing that.

Mobs in PWI dont have AI, they agro based on proximity or attack, and hold that agro on a timer. running mobs run twice based on proximity, and then stand still, unless stunned then run counter resets. phys mag mobs channel magic on a 10 second timer from last cast. bosses use skill based on how much HP they have, alternative timers (3 minute arma timer) or random number generator trigger (3-x beast). there is not intelligence. i cant think of a single mob/boss action that would require more than 1 if-then loop.

exactly this will make 5aps vs rest 'game' even more unbalanced

I farmed and cashshopped my r8 before the update and have high refinenent. I sent a ticket to pwi to reembourse me and my concerns and points were not taken seriously. After I reopened the ticket several times it was finally closed by the respondant with the reference to this thread. Obviously you are being sent in circles as long standing player by pwi so they don't have to take responsibility. If you spend endless farming time & cash like me to get good stuff it becomes worthless over night and you are being sent to the 50th page of an irrelevant thread GMs barely read. Thank you pwi

I think it's hysterically amusing to read all the QQ about the devs changing HH 3.x or sales such as this one making it easier to achieve rank gear without the foresight of 2 new classes with unique skills and abilities coming out let alone new quests and other content for higher level players.

Don't waste your time QQ'ing about what changes or imbalances in the game we have now without at least grasping a concept of the bigger changes coming in the near future.

there's no chance of it being patched, fixed, or anything being added so other players can compete in any part of the code i look at

I don't agree about anything you say 5 aps is not really broken, it works as it should It's harder to achieve than most other goals so it's normal it's a bit OP but only in pve Wish so many R8+10 weapons in game 5 aps in pvp is not really a point (u got a chance of being 1shot before getting in range for 5 aps). This is how game balance, you get good in pve you loose a bit in pvp and vice-versa. Also game needs many 5 aps to have plenty of cheaper mats in market Also everyone is free to make a 5 aps toon for farming, if you don't like it don't blame the game.

Also you dont know much about new classes it seems, both have great skill. Seeker has plenty ranged skills (that helps in pvp), a skill to rush to target like sin one, a aoe skill like archer/wizard, def level buff, sword enhances. Mystic can heal both pets and players, have resurrection buff, also have other buffs. I wont call any of the new classes uselss, probably they will fit well into the game.

They won't remake old content, because this requires effort and money that our lazy, greedy, good for nothing company refuses to give out. Thus, we wait.

And I wouldn't be so bloody excited about the expansion if I were you.

If the Tideborn 'replaced' Blademasters and Wizards, who do you think is 'replacing' Venomancers and Barbarians?
Here's a hint......"Genesis Expansion".

Anybody else find it odd that Assassins and Blademasters share the same stats and basic attacks? (Not to mention 5.0) Or that Psychics and Wizards share the same stats and even some of their magical attacks have similar properties?

You obviously haven't been playing this game very long. Optimism died years ago. The funeral was held after the original developing team left, along with spoons. But, good luck trying to bring it back to life. You can take a ride with Janus, Leader of the "QQstopQQinggameisntdead" mafia if it suits you. If you enjoy trying to act like you're mature about the game, I'd point you in that direction.

If you're so blind and short sighted that you don't think that PWI is just going to make things worse......I feel sorry for you. They've done it for years. I've watched this place rise and fall....and I didn't loose hope completely until just recently, due to this sale. It's pretty obvious now, they only care about their customers, and not their game.

And there is a difference, because Customers just buy things. They keep it afloat. Caring about the game is making sure that things are running smooth....that we're getting quality for all the QUANTITY of money we keep putting into their pockets. And we're not seeing that. We haven't seen anything like that in the longest time.

And that's why this game is on life support. Not DEAD, because I don't agree with the "QQgameisdead" legions.....but it isn't okay. It's far from it.

Please, for the love of gods, go look at the Seeker/Mystic skills and read the impressions from other people. Mystic is a jack of all trades master of none meant to support clerics/venos and Seeker doesn't seem to have even one aggro skill so far.

As much as I enjoy your work Miss Free, I have to point out that there's a flaw in your theory.

Pan Gu's wheel says that there are the following elements, based on the wheel of the genies used in the game. The Five Races theory was cooked up by a bunch of PWI nerds shortly after genies came out.

Fire
Earth
Water
Metal
Wood

Humans represent Fire
Earthguard represent Earth
Tideborn are Water
Winged Elves are Metal
Untamed are Wood due to Venomancers having wood mastery

While it is true that the similarities between Blademasters and Assassins are uncanny, and of course how similar Venomancers are to Mystics, I don't believe that there is a possibility that another race is coming out.

However, there is ONE way.

If you leave the City of the Lost, and continue to travel West, you will come to an area that says "upcoming" which does look like it can be traveled to (It might be the area where the Guild Bases are coming up, idk). In fact, going to most corners edges of the map (except for the northern area) will tell you that there is "upcoming" items. I of course haven't explored them all, having quit the game almost a year from today.

I do believe there is some chance of "non" coming into play, simply because of what you pointed out. Because Humans and Tideborn, Untamed and Earthguards are so similar, it would make sense for a race similar to the Tideborn to come forward. I'm sure there are more prophecies that we've never heard of that PWE can conjure up.

Other than that tidbit, I have to agree with you....this game is pretty close to death. I'm a little shocked and disappointed in Perfect World now....but that's why I have WoW.

it's not balanced you ****ing reject. bm's were NEVER SUPPOSE TO REACH THIS ATTACK SPEED. god damn, 3.33 bm's are ****ing terribly broken as it is with skill-cancel abilities(i'm sure you have no clue). any decent bm is ****ing indestructible 1v1, even with 3.33. but at least with 3.33, everybody else stood a chance.

Like I've said a million times before....it's never a problem until it becomes your problem, and then suddenly, it's a huge problem. The problem with most people in this game is...they don't think it's their problem.
One day, when it DOES become their problem, they'll see that those of us 'complaining' and 'QQing' were complaining for a reason, and that those of you saying that the game is fine and that nothing is going to happen, and telling people to get over it were simply being narrowminded and short sighted.

I didn't say I was bored, I said the new classes are boring. they have very few skills, their skills aren't flashy, their glider-things look stupid, the list is never-ending.
