Who would win in a single-class TW?

The Scenario:
In some fictitious future event, PWI sets up an interserver TW tournament. There are 8 teams and the format is round robin with each team facing off against every other. Only there is a catch! Each of the 8 teams is composed of the top members of a single class picked from across all servers.

All buffs are wiped at the start of TW so classes only get to use their self buffs. Everything else is fair game.

Which team will emerge the victor?

Although I'm biased, I really think Team Archer has a good chance to win. Despite low self-buffed survivability, archers would be really good at assist attacking and being able to switch targets quickly. We'd also have massive barrages going left and right.

I'm a little worried about 80 archers vs 80 barb but given lots of barrages I think the barbs will drop fast enough. Maybe 80 nix venos could be a problem to unbuffed archers... still veno attacks are fairly short range.


Who do you guys think would win? Which match-up are you most worried about? Which matchup are you most confident about?

    Veno is the most versatile of any teams, you can have HA and AA venos working well together against all sorts of opponents. Bramble would also neuter any melee team seriously while phoenixes would be good against other self-buffed robe/LAs

    Team Veno vs. Any Melee would win IMO

    Team Archer vs Team Wizard is bleak. Wizards are much more mobile with their distance shrink, much better with disables with instant channel sleep and fast seals (AOE for Sage). Archers have like 1 disable and that's it. The wizards would have to be very badly organized to lose this one.

    I'd say either Team Archer or Team Wizard because they are the long range hard hitters of the game. I cannot decide which of the two would be the ultimate winner though, as neither team would be very good at pulling catapults. I MIIIIGHT give the catapult pulling edge to archers because of their ability to use ironguards without being stunned. And I do believe in TW, BoA is superior to DB due to its farther range.

    team sin of course.. just sit in stealth the whole time and only come out to kill something when its an immediate threat. they'd do that for 3 hours and it'd be a draw. same like they do at pk tourney. whoever said cowards never win must have never played pwi b:surrender

    Team Archer ftw, though it would probably be a very close fight vs Team Sin and Team Wizzy. 80 stealth ganks or 80 BIDS O.o Would pretty much be a "Kill them before they kill you" style match.

    oh yea..also..you will get spammed by 80 x 38 secs sleep and 19 secs paralizeb:dirty (if they all got sage debuffsb:surrender)

    I bet magic defense charms would be very effective against team wizard since wizards don't fire attacks as frequently as other classes... its alot harder to defend against consistent attacks from other classes.

    I'm actually leaning towards Archers or Blademasters now. Those AoE stuns and debuffs are certainly annoying and they are better at pulling catapults. All the same, their lack of sustained AoEs for zone control as well as being melee are significant weaknesses when it comes to simply dropping enemy units.

    its hard to say tbh. team cleric can constantly heal each other disable others and even put bbs up if they wanted. team bm can have a few axe and the rest fisters and 5aps/zerk everyone to oblivion. team archer could assist practically 1 shot before you have a chance to react, team wizzy could drop 80 ults to make the server crash, the list goes on XD

    but for archers sake, im saying archers. we simply pwn b:victory

    Bm's could and can cause an awful mess if get in amongst them ( Bodhi/IG trick ) stuns, hf ... But got to assume the range classes wouldnt all stand in one group and would have staggered DD lines. So I think lack of range would let us down ... Hard to run to HF when your legs have been blown off b:chuckle

    only 4 catapults per team on a normal lvl3 tw (6 in a lvl 2 and 8 in a lvl1b:surrender for the attacker)

    I voted cleric but then I started to think about it a little more. Let's say it was set up like a single elimination tourney. Also each race fought each other 1st in the 1st round. So it would be clerics vs archers etc. So in that scenario...clerics would be screwed w/ so many zhens set up even though it'd be a fun fight. Not sure how archers would manage to stay alive long enough w/ no buffs on the crystal but meh. Now Barbs vs Veno's....veno's win. Wizzy vs Bm...wizzies. Psy vs Sin probably sins. Now it would be how the 2nd round lined up out of those 4. Obviously some of those would work better then others. Don't forget ppl that you ONLY have your own buffs so you magic users have lost alot of dd power.

    A more interesting idea would be take 20 sage and 20 demon archers along w/ 20 sage/demon clerics along w/ the same setup vs the other races. Now that would be interesting....especially humans and elves. You'd have 40 bms protecting 40 wizzies. Or 40 clerics rezzing/dding/buffing everywhere while archers barrage/snipe everything:) Ultimately I'd like the elves chances hehe as we are the only race that both classes have long range dd power w/ the versatility of magic and physical attacks.
