Ok I'll try my best to post what happened w/out breaking any forum rules...
Recently our EX-guild leader and a select few officers (amongst others) decided amongst themselves that this weekend we should defend all tws, have some silly guild event on sunday, pass out everything that Tao owns, demote every officer, and pass Edya lead. Our ex leader had mentioned this POSSIBILITY to my wife yesterday but somehow it had gotten decided late last night to go forward w/ it. She CLAIMED ALL officers were privvy to this but they were not. I logged into vent today and was told by an officer they were trying to get ppl to stay etc. I asked why and she told me our ex leader had decided to go through w/ this and already had a group of ppl all lined up to goto Radiance. Moments later our exleader logged onto vent and I drug her into the room w/ us and confronted her about this situation. Needless to say myself and others were livid. She claimed she was going to announce in b4 tws friday and wanted a nice guild event on sunday blah blah. She couldn't handle us going off on her for this so she logged off vent (we were telling her this was 100% bs; just pass lead to someone/anyone and be honorable and leave if you must). Moments later we started letting the guild know in gc what has transpired. After heated arguments she demoted every officer and passed lead to Edya before leaving the guild. Her ingame husband then logs into vent (who has access to Edya's acct.) and the guild asked for roughly 2 hrs for him to pass lead to the person who said they'd do it (most ppl online atm said they'd follow him and he then said in vent he would do it). He refused to pass it to him (rumors of him stealing money f/ some girls account) or anyone else until Ararat finally convinced him to temporarily pass it to him. Ararat then promoted some temporary officers and decided Tao will decide tomorrow what to do.
The summary is our exleader decided to blow up the ship she was lead of while she (and others who prearranged a deal to goto Radiance) had a nice golden parachute to fall back on. Supposedly her hubby claimed in gc (before he left) that it was wrong how she did it but it wasn't her decision to go back on, they had decided amongst themselves (the close to original members of Tao since not 1 original member was there for quite a while now) that Tao should die w/ Edya as lead. She also claimed she had discussed this w/ every officer but as I said, 4 officers were in vent who did not know. One of them found out f/ someone in Radiance when she tried to get her to come when they all do.
Basically who knows where Tao goes f/ here. Many want to stay and some have left. Some who are contemplating going elsewhere are 100% livid w/ our exleader and think it was a 100% spineless decision on her part (thus don't wish to be in any guild w/ her and are SHOCKED Radiance would allow someone who did that to Tao in there). Oh and the guy who wanted lead (and alot wanted him also) 10 minutes after accepting an officer position and 20 minutes saying he'd be lead of Tao, left to join Radiance.
Now I have purposely left out all names (except Tao's temporary leader; Ararat) so as to not break any forum rules. Feel free to msg me if anyone wishes to know more. Me personally...idfk wth I'm gonna do. I won't be anywhere that my wife (LadyofReal), Ararat, and BirchTree can't be together (Rat/Birch married ingame). Still kind of numb to all of this after pouring my soul into Tao only to see it tarnished like this. Rebuild? Go elsewhere? Quit the game? Who effing knows....[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

Well...kinda bummed out by this.....means Rad is pretty much next to fall....still dont think they can 1v1 Enrage and win with what...10+ ppl Rad gain?
Many hoped for a TE, Rad, Tao gank on Enrage, but that pretty much fails now. lol
Let see what happens in Rad.....can they handle this "merge" (for lack of a better word)? :O[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Wow... im shocked... history repeats itself .. thas my 1st reaction. Tao, ever since Edya officially passed lead was doomed to leadership drama. I have a deja-vu feeling regarding the events from Jan 2010 when Ese, Hoshi, Yunahh and hate left then another 20-30 Taos to Enrage.
IMO: rebuild is not an option. Why? Simple... the name. Tao will always mean in HT: Edya, Ese, Lypi, Disa as leadership point of view and a huge power at one point, which no matter how hard you or any1 else would try - even Edya - wont be able to completly rebuild Tao anywhere close to what it used to be.
Well.. i guess is time to say it... R.I.P. Tao. Im not sure im happy or sad at this point.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
Well, I probably would've done the same thing simply because the name Tao has so much luggage attached to it anyways.
Then start up a new faction and transfer as much people as possible? On the other hand, I doubt that's what DisaX had in mind.

Disa, you have done the RIGHT thing. finally, someone has had the guts to do what has been needed. tao has not existed for months. this slow, pathetic death is, and was, never what tao was about.
just let this once brilliant faction finally lay to rest.
if u dont like it, make ur own damn faction, but do not continue to drag Tao's name through the muck.

I guess what Rawthorne said coincides with what Jess was telling me.
In one way I agree with what Jess did, but in another, I can't help but think "What right is it of hers to do this?"
Since I left, I've seen Tao going down hill - in fact even before I left it wasn't at its best.
It's come as a shock for me to see all of this happen to my beloved home where I spent 13 months of my PWI career there, but everthing has an end.
RIP Tao, let's just hope this is good for the server. Hopefully the quality Tao players left (there are so few) can go on and make the server more balanced.~Almost original Tao member~

As a former original Tao (think original if you consider the break off of Evolution as still "original"), gotta say that was where I revived my PWI career. After leaving Evolution and before I joined Tao, was a huge guild hopper having short stays in Caesar, Triad, and Radiance watching their rise and fall personally. However, had my best TW's and improved my skill set a lot during the rise and stagnant periods. Personally, when Edya and Esemeli left as leader, I didn't see Tao ever coming back to its #1 power. Didn't see anyone with the right kind of swagger to push everybody like they did.
As for Tao's downfall, we all know what happened and what's done is done. As it seems, Radiance is probably the last guild to have the potential to become a #2 guild that can actually give Enrage a fight. However, as long as it takes Radiance more than 30 minutes (by whatever reason) to take us down at TheEmpire, I don't expect much out of them.
However, who knows. Maybe after Enrage takes the entire map, will Radiance still be trying? Will TheEmpire still exist as a non-serious TW guild once their is no one really left to fight? All I know is, pie is sexy.Whatever, I do what I want0 -
it is kinda sad to see a once super power die, but i'm hoping some good comes of it. most of the major players on the map are near capacity, so now we have nearly 200 people that want to tw and need a place to do it... perhaps there might be a new guild to come from this? someone who can build up strength and give enrage a real fight? one can always hope...*insert awesome siggy here*0

Tao wasnt the same guild I left when I join it in May 2009......
I am actually happy for it to more or less die.. Tao was supposed to be an upcoming TW faction to challenge Enrage, its not that anymore, and will never be that again - so to the respect of Tao I would rather see it empty then as a low lvl family guild / small TW faction.
It also helps Radiance get reinforcements to give Enrage a better challenge.. So im looking forward to a lot of fun TWs when it comes to Enrage being strongest, Radiance with new reinforcements.. TE is TE, Invidia, Drakon and Dominus are more fresh new TW factions that can make an impact on ganks, making it more difficult for Enrage to defend..
I foresee much fun and R.I.P Tao - was a pleasure being there the first 6-7 months. b:bye[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC] OH really? What a surprise.0 -
i miss the 3 hr Tao fights.. going to tw not knowing if we were gonna win or lose...
im with Ann ... so many of you out there still want to fight to have fun so do it regroup or reinforce other factions that have a drive to get on the map.
Dont look at Enrage with most of the map or the whole map in what 9 weeks and say there's no one to fight. Look at Enrage the ever constant foe and fight us.... the best tws are the hard ones. We cant give land away, thats bannable but YOU CAN come together and give us a fight and maybe even win eventually. All we really want is a good fight. b:pleased
so let Tao RIP leave that name and all its baggage behind and either go to one of the factions seriously fighting for a place on the map or come together with a new name.0 -

Confronted - This from you and a few others is why the event occurred at all, because everything that you or they decided on your own, or disagreed with, became an argument. It was never a possibility for you to leave well enough alone, every decision made you had to voice an opinion, and if a decision was made you didn't like, you'd confront many of those involved in the decision for days on end until either it was changed or you threw in the proverbial towel.
Refused - I did not refuse, I walked away and considered the options, settling on Ararat as the only individual with the strength of voice and general character to hold to what Tao has meant to many of its members over time, and parts of the server during that time.

As I said it was not her decision alone, she agreed with the suggestion as the only outcomes we and others leaving could forsee would be a destruction of what Tao is and stood for. After seeing the immediate result of my decision to grant 'rat the leadership of him simply seeking to pass it off and the only forseeable options that have been there long enough for the guild to have some sort of faith in, those vocal and commanding enough, are part of the cause for the events occurring at all, I only hope that if the guild decides upon a leader, they agree with what I saw as the only option, or that if he is not the option, remaining Tao members show some faith in the recently merged former Bloodrayn so that the Tao that I knew will have the opportunity to continue on as what it once was. The surprise here to me is that you fail to see. Many of the myriad of former Tao members across the server thanked her for having the strength to take the action she did and giving Tao a greater probability of keeping some of the prestige associated with the name. Maybe it can still, maybe it won't, I will always love the Tao that was.
As I said in my final message in guild chat, and was speaking for the body that has followed or has intent to follow to our new home. We are sorry for the end result, but saw no other way that would keep true what we held dear, please understand and forgive.Main:

but give lead to Edya and let it rest. A large protion of the sever viewed Tao as dead long before this just let it go.0
