Gotta say, that's damned impressive. If I'm running the numbers correctly, you've got well over 1.5 billion worth of assets already. Just goes to show that intelligence and ability still have value ingame.

Also, I think I'd probably laugh myself into the hospital if a non-cashshopping merchant gets a warsoul weapon before any heavy cashshoppers do.

I believe it. Without trying and a 2m coin investment... I ended up making enough coin in 10 days to buy an 8 star orb and two 10 star orbs. If you sit there and merch instead of level and quest, it's easy to make coin.
I post in forums. This one and others. That's why I post.

My body is made of swords.
Iron is my blood, and glass is my heart.
I have overcome countless battlefields undefeated,
    Without once retreating,
    Nor once being understood.
Always alone, intoxicated with victory on the hill of swords.
Therefore, there is no meaning to that life.
Perhaps this body is nothing but a sword itself.

#1 rule: Don't spend all your money (or even most of your money).

Your bank balance isn't like a gas tank, where you use it til almost empty, then go about filling it up again. The amount of available funds you have directly impacts how much money you can make. e.g. If there's a sale on d.orbs, the more cash on hand you have, the more of them you can buy to resell once the sale is over.

I made ~200 mil cat shopping, but one of the recent patches made the client crash 2-3 times a day on my cat shop computer. I'm really starting to empathize with those of you unable to keep a cat shop up.

By the way, if is not crucial private information, I am curious how long did it take you to raise 1st billion worth of itmes?
As a side note, it is hard to aim for 10 billions when all your investment funds are 100 millions. But since you have almost 2 billions it is going to be far easier from here onwards.

If is not a trick of yours (say you didn't charge zen, but you did, or photoshoped the image to look real) then :

I honestly don't understand how you guys can make so much coinage by merchanting. All I see around Arch is people selling stuff at a high price, and buying at low, which would rule out me buying cheap stuff and selling it higher to make a profit. I used to farm TT for mats, then try to sell them by the forges in Arch cheaper than anyone else, but still I am unable to sell them. I am also on a shared computer and am unable to keep a cat shop open unless I am physically at the computer, either in-game or doing something else. Some tips and pointers would be nice.

A big part is taking advantage of gold price fluctuations and the sales. For example, buying Dragon Orbs when they're on sale, and reselling them a few weeks later once prices go back up. Likewise buying Tokens of Luck during the pack sales, and either reselling the tokens later or converting them to items.

Amassing a sufficient amount of seed capital can be difficult, however. The less you have, the less you can make, and the harder it is to recover from a poor decision. I only really managed to get the ball rolling when a failed PKer dropped his +5 Calamity Axes to me.

My first major coin amount was 100 mil and that's mostly from doing TT's when it was still profitable and selling HP/MP potions in the mines. 100 mil was a lot back then. To put it in perspective, gold was hoovering a little above 100k per back then. People started copying my idea of selling HP/MP potions so I left. 50% sale on D-orbs came and I bought 4k orbs and sat on them for a very very very long time until Anni Packs came out (my goal back then was to get enough orbs to +11 a certain TT90 weapon). Had I started thinking like a true merchant back then, I bet I'd have a lot more than what I have now. Anyway, sold my orbs and bought and opened anni packs. Lost money on that. Anni Packs came around the second time, that's when I started merchanting for real. Can't tell you when 1 bil was achieved since I never really bothered counting how much I actually have.

I wasn't always a merchant but I was always cheap. I absolutely won't refine higher than 4 unless we're talking about end game. And end game for me is Nirvana atm.

Its really easy to make money in this game; no lie. All you need is about 5m starting money and you can get to over 1bn without leaving west archo in about 5-7 months. Probably less if you try harder.

Wow... that was a really long time ago. So you held onto them for 5-7 months or so... and your real money wasn't made until the 2nd annipack sale?

Anyway, good job. Makes me want to take merch a bit more seriously tbh.

Back when my cat shop was working, I was actually having more fun playing with pricing and seeing how it affected sales, than i was actually playing the game. It's not simply a matter of making as much money as you can when you resell the items. Time is a factor too. You can sit on 10 mil worth of inventory for 2 months, then sell it for 100% profit. Or you can put that 10 mil into inventory you sell immediately for 10% profit a week. In 8 weeks, that will net you 114% profit, so it's actually better (though it's more work).

A warsoul weapon costs more than a luxury car does. Somehow, I doubt your dad is going to let you just buy one of those.

It sounds like you buy limited time only items in the cash shop, wait for them to leave it, then sell them for a good chunk of change afterwards. Is this way more profitable than buying gold low and selling it high? If you do both, how do you know when to buy and sell items for profit, or buy and sell gold for profit? What about times when nothing is on sale in the boutique? How do you make money? Farming?
