hey kyna. yeah the lines of the assasin one especialy got ****ed up i didnt extract it properly

What program are you using? If you're using photoshop, just copy the first layer when you open the lineart (since it's usually locked.) set the layer propterties to multiply, make a layer with your background color on it, and do all your colors between your background layer and your lines.

im using Gimp. i also know how to layer on gimp (althoguh it took a long while to figure it out). the reason the lines arent all sharp is not because i havnt figured out how to layer, its partly because in some places (like the skin of the legs etc) i have purposefully gone over the pencil lines with a lighter colour but following the same pattern cause it looked really harsh and grey when i layered the pencil lines over the top as a top layer. the outer lines of the assasin i have no excuse for though lol i just did a bad job at transfering her onto a background.
ALSO i have a question now i have foudn you online. currently i am colouring using just a laptop. i dont even have a mouse im using a touchpad. i need yoru advice about buying a graphics tablet but i couldnt find any reviews with examples of work any advice?

Well I'd always go with WACOM. The bamboo, at least the model I had was only 80 bucks ^^ and it's awesome, the best 80 I could have spent. I've tried other tablets and while the bamboo has a smaller surface area than some cheaper brands, the pen is much better as is the software. The pen requires no batteries, so it's light, and it also has an eraser on the other end! ^^

Fael i LOVED the Catshop pic so i had to colour it. hope i did it justice xd dw bout teh darkness i upped the contrast. i would recommend Gimp its free to download and it was real quick to sort out the contrast etc. keep the pics coming

would you like something to practice colouring on? here i bequeeth you one of my precious sketches xd its of My archer Dorset. first right click and save to file this image.click on File (in gimp when its open) and open this sketch. then click Layer, Transparency, Colour to alpha then click ok. this makes the image transparent. then click on file again and then Open as Layer, then click on teh sketch again and then ok. then click on Layer , stack, and layer to bottom. this puts the sketch with the white background on the BOTTOM with the lines layed over the top. this means that you can colour almost without touching the lines (because you will me colouring under them) heres a tip. for SHADING use the tool that looks like a spray pen. this lays on less paint than the simple paint tool. please try and avoid using the fill tool. it murders the lines. hope you give it a go. have fun xd

First time trying to actually color an image on the computer. Used GIMP and, well, figured out I don't have steady hands at all.

Any tips/pointers on how to...um...how do you put it? Make it not as flat, I guess? XD

P.S. Used ivory on the wings, but you can't really see it that well. ~.~

it looks nice could use some extra shading but otherwise you did a good job. Grippie xd you doing better it shows. ill try teach you how to shade at some point in teh next couple of days.

What would you recommend to do shading with in GIMP? I assume the burn and dodge tool, right?
