Sure an companion can draw the mark - but with no companions, one of the players will be marked. 90% of the players don't survive the incoming attack, so the aoe wipes everyone else, just like it would happen with companions. Well, it is player driven for sure. We are the players, we drive. The devs just make the streets - and since some weeks, there is only "one way": If u wanna get more IL, give us ur cash. As I said earlier, many players now drive without paying anything or just "leave the Country".
