  • @l3xi55: I used both builds, and as I was saying: if your group clears trash fast enough to hardly ever use more than one rotation of your encounters, use Stox' build.
  • Not particularly, e. g. if you use something like Stox' build, you would use Magic Missle, as you focus on not having chill.
  • The OP was explicitly asking about the final boss fights in MC and VT, therefore anything regarding trash is void.
  • I have a third CW, I used to level to try out Master of the Flame first, before I decided to change one of my two main CW's. Yes, leveling was faster--but that could also be related to the experience I've with playing CW's ;) In regards to finishing the bosses of the daily instances in Dread Ring, I didn't notice any…
  • That is quite obvious. Grimah's more aimed for sustained damage and Stox' is for burst damage. It is even explained in Stox posting. If your group is clearing trash so fast, that you rarely need to use your encounters twice, go with Stox', else use Girmah's.
  • You can always use your At-Will powers. Just keep your mouse button pressed. The casting will interrupt shortly if you use an encounter and continue directly after. Therefore not using At-Wills, is a waste of damage.
  • I have two L60 CW's--one is Spellstorm and one is Master of the Flame. I've run all T2 and above dungeons with both in different group setups. In dungeons with add-heavy boss fights--like e. g. CN or ToS--the Master of the Flame is very good, but in pure single target fights--like MC or VT--the Spellstorm outperforms the…
  • If you're using Stox's build: you always use Arcane Missle, if you're using Grimah's build: stick with Chilling Cloud.
  • Read this Guide: Grimah's Comprehensive Wizard Guide it contains all the important information about the CW--and it is still up-to-date.
  • If you're Spellstorm--what I would asume--you can drop Crit to 1,500 to 2,000. If you have Silvery enchantments, drop them. Go for Power.
  • Just for the sake of clarity: HV lowers "Defense" (aka Damage increase), where ArP lowers "Armor" -- two totally different things.
  • This is no build, it is a comprehensive guide--and current and viable as that.
  • Care to elaborate on that, please? Honestly, I just started playing NWO 2 weeks back. Also I do not have tested a couple of sets myself. But still, do us all a favor and explain how did you test out the clear time and what did you do with the target limit?
  • Ok, thank you for proofing, that you have no clue about how the HV debuff works. You will never ever see/have a better position in "Paingiver" with the HV set, because the total amount damage you can do in a certain dungeon is fixed. Therefore a damage buff for the whole group will never increase that fixed amount of…
  • You helped him getting on that place by using HV. If you and the SW guy would also have used 2+2 you may have even out. But HV means the complete group does more damage (faster), therefore I will always ever wear my HV set with both my CWs. Also you need to consider that the one, who initiates a fight/pull will always be…
  • No, absolutely not. The benefit of HV is damage gain for the whole party. Champion Mage is even inferior to the Archmage set--especially if you're talking about "1sec faster cooldown is gaining a lot of damage". a) one CW with HV cannot instantly apply all 3 debuffs to all targets, b) neither HV nor Bronzewood or…
  • You should read: Grimah's Comprehensive Wizard Guide
  • Honestly, please first read Grimah's comprehensive Wizards guide for the young and old before you start posting quarter-truth in the forum.
  • The Control Wizard basically is a close-combat (around 20-30 feet) AoE Control and Damage Dealer. If that is not your playstyle, the CW can be played completely different--but I guess you would need a group to support that. That happens to all of us, when we started using the shard. Trust me, you get used to it.
  • Thank you very much for the information. Name-calling isn't allowed in the forum, but I think turning yourself in is.
  • Yes, it is. Thank you very much for the info.
  • What helm is this, please?
  • They don't stack anymore, but one CW will never be able to get the debuff on all MOBs, therefore I rearranged your posting, that it actually makes sense: Up to at least two CW's in party: use HV, if more than 2 the 3rd may use other, the 4th definitely should use something else.
  • Use a Soulforged armor enchantment for PvE.
  • As you're saying "they", I consider myself included. And as I've played Spellstorm CW's in different setups since May, tested them thoroughly and used them in all available content, I do not consider myself one to "not understand Spellstorm CW's". My two CW's are still not BiS equipped (having only rank 8's), but still my…
  • Then you may care to explain to me, why my MoF CW still does more damage (at least in add heavy boss fights) as my nearly same equipped CW's I usually run with? My SS CW does slightly more damage as my MoF, but not two times that much.
  • Ok, let me do an example: Go to VT, gather all the trash up to the ones above the stairs. * try using Arcane Singularity --> you will (probably) die * try using Oppressive Force --> you will live And btw, I wasn't writing anything about not using encounter powers after Oppressive, of course you do. Therefore a more…
  • No, it is the perfect start of a big trash pull, because it immediately stuns all the targets (no target limit) and provides time for the 2nd CW to pull them back together (if they are still standing).
  • The "Smiting Beserker Belt" has +110 Power, +133 Critical Strike and +133 Armor Penetration as well as an Offensive Slot (there are two variants of "Smiting Beserker Belt"). Depending on the stats you need for your character, that is a very good choice. Especially as all epics belts only have an Defensive Slot.
  • ... in individual damage.
