  • That's pretty HAMSTER, I used to have some fun in pre 60 PvP sometimes. When I was playing before I'd never seen bots in PvP before.
  • My concern is they're putting yet more stuff in that doesn't actually fix the game's problems: no new content, endless grind.
  • VIP isn't great value really. Saying 'it pays for itself in keys' might be true, but it's a completely flawed argument. Cryptic created the lootbox RNG and massive refinement grind, and they sell a solution to it. That doesn't make great value, just as someone repeatedly punching you in the face and then selling you a…
  • They're still dropping, but the rate is broken. I should get about 10% drops with all my enchants, but it's considerably less. They're also capped *very* quickly -- when I log in each day I get a quite a few, after a couple of minutes I get almost none. I think they drop it to 1% maximum once you've had a few drops. As for…
  • Prices of R5 stacks are up more than 10x, peridots and minor resonance stones more than 5x. RP requirements are just increasing. This is obviously not sustainable. The R5 drop rate may have increased, but not enough to be noticeable. I've played through several zones and dungeons and have not seen any real increase. This…
  • A very insightful post. It's unfortunate, as the game started out very differently - superb levelling zones, great combat, lots of dungeons, a focus on the foundry. Since then it has been creeping along and really only adding more and more grind, and new gear and boons are added to support more grind, with no regard to…
  • I queue to PvP but I only do it if the AD reward is available, since 90% of the time I'm matched against 4k premades. Since most matches are standing around waiting for the end, the only incentive is the AD. I think removing AD from PvP in its current state would kill it off completely.
  • There's no real justification that you should get a massive competitive advantage in PvP for stuff other people have done. Join a guild, instant massive bonus against others, no work. It's just not right.
  • Yup, unfortunately that is precisely it. There's no sensible reason to grind in IWD and end game is all about grind. People used to go there to farm peridots, now they don't. It doesn't help that none of the end game zones have been properly updated for the current game. Once you finish the campaign (which is purely for…
  • The problem is the enormous gear gap at end game, and that when R5s were introduced, none of the current system existed. You now need so many thousands of them to refine a single item, and you need to refine almost everything, that grind has got out of hand. One thing is obvious though: R5s are aimed at levels 50-60, not…
  • Fixing scaling is much more difficult than just splitting the queues between people doing it at level and those above it. On top of that obviously scaling needs some work, as like you say anything below 60 requires no effort whatsoever. I doubt anyone levelling up enjoys running any of the dungeons because they'll be…
  • This is the problem - end game progression is completely reliant on grind and RNG, and that causes the demand for bots. Cryptic won't target the actual source of the botting problem (too much grind) and instead does stuff that only hurts real players, and just causes a massive hit on the economy while the bots raise their…
  • They should probably separate the queue for people who are within 5-10 levels of the dungeon's intended level and people who are higher so that the people doing the dungeons at level have a better chance of not being pulled into farming speed runs. The scaling is obviously a total joke, lvl 70s can almost one shot the…
  • I think once a player reaches 600 score they shouldn't be able to be kicked. It's being abused as usual, mostly by the same couple of pvp guilds that abuse everything in the game.
  • The entire economy is based on bots. Any changes they make that affects bots will cause extra massive grind for genuine players until the bots find an alternative.
  • At level cap you still get a full AD reward for running low level dungeons, which despite 'scaling' are a total face roll and can be done in 5 minutes. By doing the epic ones you get up to 2-3 equipment drops that can be salvaged, and you can send these to alts if you're at the RAD cap. Ones with two chests at the end are…
  • I wasn't throwing my hands in the air, rather saying far more than something like this is needed to address PvP. You can guarantee that people will abuse a system if it lets them because of the supreme grind of the game, and being able to set up private PvP queues would make it incredibly easy for everyone. That's not to…
  • It's pretty well established that the demand for bots comes from excessive grind. The harder the grind, the bigger the demand for bots. Stripping out rewards has next to no effect on bots, that's also well established. They can get around it. It affects players though by increasing the grind even more. That's when they…
  • Full control over PvP queues would mean it'd get abused just for AD/Glory/etc. Just as some people abused syncing in GG and SH siege to build up all they needed. Something does need to be done, but it's going to be a massive job to fix this broken mess. There can't be any serious PvP element in the game when there's so…
  • It'll massively drive up the price (as is happening), meaning people will need to put more AD into Zen, or buy Zen directly. It's pretty transparent. RP requirements are already stupidly high, and after stripping wards out of the bar store (to push Zen up again) it's made the game much more of a grind.
  • Now the instance is being grinded so much, a few people have started joining and doing absolutely nothing to help for the bulk of it (the gas and the gnomes), and only joining in at the end after everybody else has done all the work. There's no option to kick people from this instance either.
  • This will have no impact on the economy, as everyone has said, these very rare tasks aren't run by bots and grant hardly anything. It's just making what they've already made a mostly useless profession now even more useless. Most of the current rare tasks take much longer than the regular tasks, require more rare items,…
  • PVP's in a far worse state in terms of balance, broken gear, etc than it was when NCL was on - and it was a mess back then too.
  • A couple of hours of content of lair quests, mostly from existing maps and pretty much all existing assets, time gated by some of the most tedious dailies so far. If that's the best they've done for a long time it says a lot. Some of the actual new content was nice for what it was, but this should be on top of a new zone…
  • I like the way they've improved PVP in mod 9 by introducing a great enchant that grants invisibility and immunity and an even better artifact set that one shots everything in the game. It makes farming for AD by trading caps even quicker.
  • Most dom matches now end in a 'gg' and people trading caps until it's over because of the stupid imbalance between teams. I'd say about 90% of the ones I do.
  • Coalescent wards should be about 150-200 Zen each. Preservation wards should be removed from the Zen store and put back into the bar store. Given the near endless amount of refining needed, plus the huge amount of RNG involved, it's no fun for anybody the way things are. People don't enjoy grinding to do something so…
  • As things stand PVP is pretty much entirely about gear at level cap. People with maxed out everything (including boons and mount bonuses) barely have to do anything to kill people and be unkillable. I don't think Cryptic will ever do it in a free to play title but I'd like to see equalised gear, at least partially,…
