I've ran some tests with the new class updates, and GF is one of the most broken things I've ever seen in this game. It's similar to the Mod2 Sentinel GWF, but with more damage/stun potential and way more survivability due to the immense HP pool coupled with the BI gears. The shield is really just the icing on the cake.

Don't ever use shield in pvp nor pve. There's plenty of good builds around, just stick to the one which satisfies your playstyle the most, each one of them has a specific powers layout.
