I don't know if this is a coincidence but I'm in Australia and the game has been completely laggy and unplayable for me the last 4 days. All other online games are normal. Well I'm at the point where I am 2 wins and 47 losses vs Tiamat. Both wins came in my first 3 battles. Needless to say my confidence in this being viable or worth my time is thoroughly destroyed. I've not even seen a third head taken down during the course of my last 25 battles. I appreciate setting the bar high in a game…

UPDATE: I finally got the gloves to drop on Bear Rider Roundup two nights ago. In between now and my post above I got a 2nd MH and 3 useless items for another class which I couldn't sell or move to another character. I had to salvage them. Drops are rare enough, having that happen makes you want to damage your hardware LOL.

I (fiiiiiiiiiiinallly) got the gloves to drop from Bear Rider Roundup the other night.

The lesson I've learned for this is to never again try for equipment sets that have a "drop only" component. I'll just farm the boons and be done with it.

I've done well over 350 battles in IWD. I've gotten my GF all the way through IWD with no drops at all. Gave up. I've gotten my CW 85% of the way through with no drops at all. Gave up. I've gotten my GWF 95% through and one MH drop from a beholder. I guess I'll casually try off & on for the gloves but really don't hold out…

You are correct sir. They are not linked. However, if everyone stops buying them maybe they will get the hint that this whole drop thing is a very bad idea.

Don't buy the Runeforge Kit. Don't buy Black Ice Shaping Booster Pack. Don't waste time or AD upgrading BI profession.

So for the black ice gauntlets the only way to get them is pure luck? There's no shop where you can buy them like the other gear? Is it the same for swords & such?
