Is this a Known AH Bug? And is there a Workaround?

Hello, hoping someone can help me out here...
Lately the AH has been doing this to me about 50% of the time:
- I have previously been outbid on an item, and I return to catch the end of the auction to rebid. The problem is, I cant rebid, the "Place a Bid" button just stays greyed out, regardless of how much money I try to bid. Its not because someone else placed a higher bid, because I will refresh and nothing has changed, and the current bid amount will stay the same until the bid period expires. Its almost like someone put a lock on it so nobody else can bid. I tried obscenely higher numbers just to test it, and it still stayed grey.
Yes, its extremely annoying at the time, but I'm refraining from posting a scathing review of my experience out of respect for the mods here, I know they have a hard enough job even when things are going smoothly here. Honestly, I'm just hoping someone knows a workaround to this so I can try it next time, and hopefully have better luck. Thanks.

It doesn't hurt have the devs look into it.
oh, this wasn't the gateway, it was from direct in-game. Maybe I should try the gateway? hmmm...

Have never experienced this issue within the game but I also have not tried to snipe any auctions recently.

There is a certain time that bids will essentially be "locked in". Its always done that, so if it is a bug, its been there since I've started playing.
hmm, that's interesting, I suspected that, but I was also getting my winning bids taken out from under me in the final second or 2, so I ruled it out. So I wonder if its that last 60 seconds that's the lock?
I guess I need to try the gateway as suggested and see if things go more, "as expected".

For me, its ~47s. Its different for each person, I think. I have no idea what decides the time
Allow me to clarify:
If you want to bid on something costing 100AD and bid 75AD, you now have 25AD in your wallet because the 75AD was removed.
If you are outbid, your original bid is returned to you (75AD) - however, you still only have 25AD in your inventory wallet and cannot bid on that item again. You must go to a mailbox and reclaim the refunded Astral Diamonds by taking them back into your wallet (they are attached to the email). Then your wallet balance will return to the 100AD you had before, and now you can bid again (up to 100AD of course).
I apologize if I am insulting your intellect (if you have done all this already) - but it seems to be a common boo-boo many people make and since it wash;t mentioned here, I thought I'd bring it up.
