I can sort of understand the reasoning for shutting down the Gateway. But a little green companion as compensation? That feels like a cheap cop out. Granted, the description of it calls back to the humor of the Caterday stuff. But the Gateway was a major feature.
Hearing that there was stuff in the works to make crafting have items that are of actual worth made me start considering pushing on my crafting skills again. Seeing that my small guild ain't EVER going to have a chance to get in on that action just killed that notion.
I've recently noticed it follows when you are first creating the history. Try editing an existing history on the character, that's where I see it not follow. I believe the HTML tags stopped working when they made it put line breaks where you started new paragraphs. Before if you wanted a line break, you had to use the HTML…
From my experience with enchanting process, if you place more points than are needed for the next rank, the extra will carry over into the next rank when you do rank it up.
Worrying about it flooding the markets? Really? This is something you have to have been actively logging in and invoking at least once a day for almost a year. I'm betting the average player has not done so. I know I'm not even close to having enough AC on my oldest character (who started in open beta). And then, when you…
Going with the logic of high gear score helping to make players more effective; as they win more because of the higher gear score they will be matched with higher ELO ranked opponents. In the end, the ELO should level the playing field.
Gods and background both. There's little point to them beyond RP. At the very least, I was hoping that Foundry missions could use either for dialog/action choices like classes can (race choices would have been nice too).
I've done this on multiple classes. I had the hardest time with my TR (who had just hit 60 at the time) and my DC (who was at level 37, I think). I remember being extremely frustrated when I was doing the quest with my DC. But those were the first two times I did the quest too. Had an easier time with my HR (at level…
What's funny is that there is still a ton of spam in Zone (especially in PE Zone chat) for people looking for groups and trades. I'll admit LFG and Trade cut down on it some, but certainly not as much as people hoped for I'm sure.
Why does the "preferred" class change like the flavor of the month at Baskin Robbins? Because we have constant adjustments for balance reasons. And your min/max power-gamer players like to go with the most powerful so they'll shift their preferences accordingly. My suggestion: Try out each of the classes, at least through…
No, that's a bad analogy. I admit that I was hoping for more out of this event, but I wouldn't equate the event to being stabbed in the leg. A better analogy would be going into a restaurant hoping for a nice steak but getting a plain burger instead.
I agree with the outlook the OP is coming from here. I'm a roleplayer too. I just look at SCA as more of an OOC thing, especially since you can't do SCA with others.
*insert cackle here* Not that I cared who won, but man what a stomping... It's not necessarily that the minmax/hardcore player will ruin your game or vice versa. If the game is too easy for the hard core player, he'll complain that the game isn't challenging him. If you make the game too hard for the casual/roleplaying…
It's not 100% accurate to the rulebooks, no. There's liberties taken simply because it's a different medium than PnP. I've yet to see a computer game be 100% accurate to it's PnP counterpart. Personally, that's the way it should be.
The Dread Ring campaign progression does seem to move slower than Sharandar. I've actually not done any of the dungeon delves in either campaign yet, only the quests, lairs, and skirmishes.
The CO "Trade" channel is also unaffected by console commands. Also to note, I don't want to leave the CO "Trade" channel. I know I could just go into CO and leave the channel from in there. The problem is that I play on CO as well as NW, so I want the CO "Trade" channel when I'm playing CO. However, it would be nice for…
I've noticed with NPC lunge attacks that put a small red circle underneath you, you need to move away at least another three feet from the edge of the circle or else you WILL be slammed. This has been so since the beta days. It's probably more pronounced with the HR since their dodge power moves the HR a shorter distance…
I usually have a ton of ID scrolls from mob drops and will ID any blues and usually vendor trash them after IDing. Greens I rarely pick up anymore, because my inventory space is too tight. After I recently hit 60, I've been working on the two campaigns. There's some good items to be found, and the boons are certainly worth…
Not that I like bumping up threads, but I was doing some RP in the Mask today and I had a hell of a time trying to follow the conversation because I the CO "trade" channel was spammy. Devs, please give us a way to turn off the player made "trade" channel while in NW. Pleeeeeease.
