I don't know quite how many is many to you, but the vast majority of both professional and public literature on the subject disagrees. Go to nearly any site and everybody seem to think that its a "true" MMO. As I have no idea how much of the game you have played, and I can't rate your experiences by my own, but if you…
Of your points, I only agree with the first. The number of powers is ok, more is not always better, and the environments look good so far. From what I can tell, Paragon Paths are now talent trees. This is a disappointment to me personally, but this seems to be where much of the character diversity will come from. Paragon…
A great weapon fighter is a class as long as it has a distinct mechanic. Even in terms of the average MMO. You seem to be mired in 4e rules. Though this is based on 4e it is not 4e. So far we have seen that the Guardian Fighter has a blocking mechanic and will fill the "tank" role of the group. I have not seen anything on…
Are you sure you know what a "class" is? Each if these.....character types will have a distinct playstyle, with distinct mechanics. You can call them whatever you like. In 4e they were builds as they had the same class mechanics. Here they do not.
...with one exception Dailies are powered by "Action Points" These are gained by a class specific actions, generally attacking enemies. There are not only on a prolonged cooldown.
The idea that its not an MMO because its action oriented is just the kind of thinking that cranks out cookie cutter games. Yes this has a different feel. Are you telling me that standard MMO autoattacks look more interesting than aiming shots? You want a more traditional MMO in the D&D universe. Fine. I don't. I like…
Just keeping it to allowing character to choose other Paragon Paths with the appropriate feat would allow for staggering multiclass opportunities. This would be such a great feature.
I did not know how you earned the ability to activate through class specific actions. That seems interesting, although it sounds more like they used the term rather than adapted the mechanic. Still, perhaps Paragon paths could offer alternate means to generate action points?
Indeed, as stated, in 4e Warlords were a core class. I can understand why they don't what to try it first, its based on re-positioning enemies and buffing allies. Those would be difficult to implement. Its just one of my favorite classes, as re-positioning and buffing are my personal cup of tea.
If threads like this didn't bury threads with real game questions, I wouldn't care. For every question on class or progression, there is one on these "OMG $200" threads. Enough is enough.
In what way? Are you worried that they will start selling things that are mandatory for the game because the have a $200 founders pack? I mean, Im thinking about the $60 version, and I would not pay $200, but Im grateful to all thoes Heroes of the North who did. They are funding most of my fun.
Dear lord. Why does everyone have such a problem with this? If you don't think its worth it, don't buy it. What do you care if other people do find the package worth it?
You're quite right. I am speaking of taking the Paragon Path of another class rather than fuseing two classes with the Paragon Path. Confusing I know. I know its a lot to ask for, but seeing as many folks are concerned with the, seemingly, narrow choices for class, this would be a fantastic way to encourage character…
Honestly, I would love to see the Paragon Multiclassing system from 4e. I dont know if you will have a limited selection of paragon classes, but I hope to fashion my own classes with the Paragon system.
This argument has been thin for quite some time. Your not paying for beta. You just want in the beta and this is the only surefire way. Assuming they did not offer a "founders" package, you would have to rely on chance, or some other giveaway. I, for one, am thrilled I have a way to get into the beta if I so desire it. I…
