  • It took two tries but the second time I forced a file check and a re-patch worked to fix the issue. I'm guessing it was a bad patch initially. Strangely, the patch let me play for a day before I started seeing this constant "server not responding" error.
  • Visit the Rewards/Claims agent. He'll have the account-wide legendary mounts you've already opened available for each character in your account to "buy" for free.
  • Oh, and I forgot to add that just as often, the client would disconnect dropping back into the login screen. Is that an eyeball? A black hole amid a swirling hurricane sucking out what's left of any enjoyment from the game?
  • Statistics and probabilities should be required subjects for all gamers, even more so for D&D players. Here's an exercise. Find 5d6. Roll them. When you get all 1s, you win a legendary. Go on. How long are you willing to roll those dice until you get all 1s? Oh, by the way, you must pay 1 lockbox key for each roll. The…
  • It's been over two days since my last disconnects. Thanks for fixing the servers, Cryptic.
  • I would suspect that but all my other online games are working fine. I've pinged servers in Northern California where Cryptic is located and all returned signals. Calls to my IP confirm the service is up and running with no problems.
  • But seriously, is there something happening with the server? Even before this last patch, I've been seeing "server not responding" messages and then disconnects that push me back to the login screen. Once or twice a night I can stand (and almost expect...thank you, Cryptic, for such a fine example of network management!…
  • Whatever happened to punctuation? But seriously, is there something happening with the server? Even before this Wednesday patch, I've been seeing "server not responding" messages and then disconnects that push me back to the login screen. Once or twice a night I can stand (and almost expect...thank you, Cryptic!) but…
  • The game has been nice and stable for weeks (read: I only see 1-2 disconnects a night) but now I'm seeing 1-4 an hour! I think the server hamster is tired. Will we be getting a new, more energetic server hamster soon?
  • Come and listen to a story of a game we play with Arc A wonky login server took away the player's spark So away to the forums everyone began to bark Unleashing all the trolls with predictable snark ...can't log in ...can't authenticate Well the first thing you know the admins got in high gear Looking for solutions be they…
  • Red light. Green light. Regardless, still can't log in. Super annoying, these first world problems. Meanwhile other parts of the planet are struggling to get water and electricity after storms. Just sayin'.
  • Yup. Still can't log in. Red status dot. Message: Unable to authenticate: Connection to the account server timed out.
  • Best. Patchnotes. Evah.
  • And neither am I. I do realize that as the story progresses and more detailed scenes emerge, I will most likely deviate from and contradict canon. I do not mean to do it deliberately, and I certainly do not mean to disrespect any work that has gone before. Instead, I'll sheepishly admit that any deviation from canon is…
  • What Needs Done, Part I (continued) Dagult Neverember brought his fists out from under the table and slammed them down in front of him. The plates and cutlery set in front of him clattered noisily. The silver goblet tripped and fell spilling its contents. A red stain trailed away looking like blood in the chamber’s dim…
  • Again, thank you. I'm glad these stories continue to entertain you. I hope to pick up the pace between each installment. Thank you for thinking enough of these stories to recommend them to others.
  • What Needs Done, Part I Lord Dagult Neverember, Open Lord of Waterdeep and Lord Protector of Neverwinter of the Sword Coast sat fuming while seated at the apex of the horseshoe-shaped table of The Council of Thirteen in a stone vaulted chamber high above the Hall of Justice. Seated on ornate chairs along the outside wings…
  • The elven battle master bounced the leather purses briefly in his palm having been deposited there by the dwarven battle maid, Grendel. "A most generous amount," the elf thought as he envisioned the number of coins hinted at by the sound and heft. "This will definitely let me replenish the training mannequins that the…
  • ...and this is why we can't have nice things.
  • First time back in months eager to pick up where I left off only to comeback to this. Disappointing.
  • Zedrashiraxx glances back over his broad shoulders as he made his way out through the thick double-doors of the Trade of Blades. He knows his companion will be busy enough for the time being. She always seems happiest when her blade is smashing into something, whether into demons from the far hells or something simple like…
  • I appreciate the very detailed letter discussing the state of the game. As I read on, and on, and on, I could not help but think if this is just "too little, too late." I'm very glad that there seems to be a plan in place to address longstanding issues. There was a time when I would have been more excited, or interested,…
  • I have three, with the last (a TR) being added last fall. A DC (2 yrs) and a GF (2.5+ yrs, which I consider my main, although I barely play this character as I'm gearing the TR) round out the rest. All are 70 geared from 2.4k to 2.7k...not BiS by any means but good enough to do well in dungeons. I have a free slot in case…
  • General Bharash stared with interest at the Dragonborn rogue standing in front of him. The metal studs and rings that are part of the rogue’s dark leather armor reflected the burning braziers on either side of the pavilion making the armor appear to twinkle. The Dragonborn general leans back against the map table and folds…
  • If only the RP amounts needed to level the items were adjusted to be in line with the current abilities players can generate AD. You wouldn't need 2xRP. Otherwise, learn to plan better and keep in mind that prices follow demand.
  • The Dragonborn rogue wiped the trail of sweat off his cheek frills with the back of his hand. The last hour had been a good workout to test the latest refinements he had made to his blue-hued blades. He glances casually at his companion who at the moment is chatting with the battle master by the far corner of the training…
  • The meetings with Harper Boward and the rogue are now a regular occurrence. After each mission against the cultists, they would confer as he reports the the results of the latest efforts. Boward’s expression is always serious. She would often greet the rogue earnestly after fixing him with an intense stare. “Can the…
  • Grendel’s exasperation was obvious. “Why are we not fighting yet,” she muttered under her breath for the tenth time in as many minutes. Her thick bladed two-handed sword gleamed dully in the moonlight as it rested on her lap. She glanced up at her employer, her "boss" as she likes to refer to him, crouching next to her…
