I've had a lot of fun with the mini-quests, & I got the mantle & a dye pack on the first day in far less than 100 gift boxes -- more like 20-25 or so total to get both items. Having said this, I agree with those who are mostly let down. I would have preferred something actually challenging, something worthy of the GODS…
The bank slots I'm considering. The Honey Badger is cute, but there are other companions I'd rather buy first. I doubt I would ever need to expand my idle companion slots.
I got the cloak a few minutes ago. It's nice enough -- looks better in-game than it does in the character sheet display -- but, honestly, it's a bit on the "warm & pastel" side, for a Selune-worshipper. I figured it might turn black, or at least a very dark blue, but no: it's sort of a pale yellow-&-brown affair. Looks…
I got 3 quests in about 15 minutes. Failed the first, easily completed the next two. Got a minor haul of nice enchantments & runestones for my troubles, which I immediately fed into my artifact. It's free, it's random, you get what you get ... roll your dice, move your mice, drive on. Besides, you've got a whole weekend to…
I'd love an auto-loot option, but it needs to be customizable so that it doesn't pick up various types of loots, or so you can have it auto-turn-off in groups, or so on.
To me, this game is very similar to Diablo 3; as such, it's worth about $30 to me, & that's as much as I anticipate spending. If the Devs eventually decide to expand it beyond what it is now, I'll spend accordingly.
My CW is only level 35, so I can't fully comment. I've mostly used the Swashbuckler companion though, & it's been quite effective tanking for me since I got it, some 20 levels ago. But as for group action, or my own personal effectiveness ... well, I don't have issues on either my 35 CW, or my 60 TR, but neither of them is…
Um ... just so everyone knows ... this thread is not about players or their characters. At all. This thread is about my dislike of the writer, R.A. Salvatore, & one of his particular characters. Only that. Nothing more. Let's not read what isn't into it.
For a wide variety of reasons, I have very sincere doubts that this suggestion will ever be considered. Not saying it's a bad idea; I like it a lot, & would love to see it happen. But I've a feeling that this suggestion is asking for Neverwinter to be turned into a "real" MMO, when it's simply not & likely never will be.
Well, if they're less than 9k they shouldn't be appearing in Castle Never anyway ;) As for Karrundax & Spellplague, the minimum GS is 8300. If that's not sufficient for the last boss fights, then perhaps the developers need to rethink either that minimum GS, or the dungeon -- because one of those things is not tuned for…
Yes, but in terms of actual MMOs, those aspects are wildly *unpopular.* Why? Because I guarantee you that replacing all of your gear in EQ2 & WoW, etc., is a very different thing from replacing it all in Minecraft or Day-Z. In a real MMO, you could be talking about days or even WEEKS of play time to replace that stuff; in…
Yes, EQ1 did that, & for the most part, players hated it; that's why it's no longer used in modern MMOs. I think it's even less possible to compare a real MMO to console games like Demon Soul & Dark Souls, than it is to compare Neverwinter to a real MMO.
This. The first time I did the Storm The Keep CTA, my CW was level 12, & everyone else was level 60. I was like "OMG this isn't gonna work I'm sooo hosed here" & next I know ... I'm nuking away, Entangling mobs, occasionally hitting Ice Storm when necessary, & having a grand ol' time. After that I just threw caution to the…
I've never seen a MMO in which people didn't complain bitterly about the PvP. This is why I've generally boycotted PvP since my early days on Rallos Zek. I think that unless you develop your game *for PvP from the ground up* & *then* balance for PvE, you might as well forget PvP entirely, because what you turn out will be…
You do that, simply by leveling. Getting to max level doesn't change that reality. I'm not sure I fully understand your point here, though. After all, nothing stops a level 60 player from doing normal Cloak Tower ... I see level 60s regularly offering to help lower level players through dungeons, so it would seem that…
I think that if they put the respawn point for the boss fight even halfway through the skirmish zone, that would cut down on the tedium of death recovery. But putting it all the way back at the beginning is simply wrong, & should be changed.
I was the TR, & did my best to stick on the boss, but I think maybe the rest of the group didn't focus the adds. Thanx much for the advice from both of you, I'll try it again & see what happens :)
It's a lot of fun, but if you think of it as another WoW or EQ2, you will likely be disappointed. Think of it, instead, as Diablo 3 with 4E D&D rules. You'll get farther with your expectations, that way.
Exactly: that's why, while I sympathize with the OP, I don't think you can really make the argument she's making. If this game had a REAL "open world" feel like EQ2, DAoC, WoW, etc., then I'd pretty much agree with the OP entirely, but it's not that way. It's more of Diablo 3, with 4E D&D rules.
Is that content accessible before level 60? No. Does that fact disprove the OP's statement? Yes. You can argue all you want about how *much* additional content is available at 60. You can not argue, as the OP did, that reaching 60 means you "run out of content," & I can't think of a single MMO of which that's actually…
