Weaken the broken Astral Shield. Increase the broken (self) heal to 100 % again. A cleric in need of potions almost like everybody else ? That is preposterous.
From what I have read so far, the classes are reasonably balanced at level 60 for team play. So do not expect to win easily. Especially not if you play against a better team.
I am sorry not being the one with experience. Besides, would you believe someone with another opinion ? There are countless threads about any combination of who vs who. No need for waiting.
I do not know what you mean by new content. But classes (= RPG and gameplay options) lack severely. Besides, creating new content and fixing classes is probably done by different teams. One team can not replace the other.
Yes it is but not just a bit. I do not know how restricting E4 is compared to the predecessors; at least as far as a video game without DM is concerned. But E4 offers the stuff you expect and more.
There is nothing wrong with what I said. Like you said, the sub options are just archetype suggestions but remain without strict meaning. The powers have the same name and maybe a similar behavior (I have not checked). The paragon path is much too important in this game as well and do not mirror the E4 stuff. So much…
There is much that can not be understood. Except when you accept that this game should be a copy of other MMO with D&D label: - the same basic classes like other MMO - PvE and PvP The class system is very different from the D&D E4 basics: - Crazy gear restrictions - No common feats. - The options like Devoted Cleric are…
You do not have to tell me. Cryptic is extremely frugal with regard to D&D and will try to satisfy player demands with as few effort and as soon as possible.
DnD E4 player handbook proposes these paladin RPG archetype guidelines: - Avenging paladin: great weapon (sword or axe) - Protecting paladin: sword / hammer + shield Cryptic will add paladins to complete the base classes and to give clerics their melee version although few clerics will be satisfied with this solution.…
I know that the devil lies in the details. Things like the mount issue can happen. What is not allowed to happen are things like bugged skills. There are not millions of them. If DnD players around the world can compute rules correctly, then a game developer should be able to do the same with minimal unit testing. Game…
Maybe. But then again, they have created that game already. Fixes seem like peanuts in comparison. The devs or someone comparable should come to the forum and proove complainers wrong. The silence or response delay from the maker side is the breeding ground for stupid "fanboy" and "hater" accusations and frustrated hate…
True and well said. My opinion on that matter: 1) Developers should create and release content now. Fix and balance later. 2) If the forum cries with one voice, then fix in frequent but small steps. Like 1 - 3 % changes. Nodobdy asks perfection from the devs. But everybody wants a plausible response as soon as possible. 3)…
I do not know what you have played. The 4th edition seems very good after reading the player's handbook. Much better than the stuff we have in this game. There are these alignments in 4e: god, lawful good, evil, chaotic evil, unaligned
100% agreed. NWO does not respect the fundamentals of D&D 4e at all. 4e is about versatile and open minded base classes. Like the versions before. Concepts like Battle Cleric or Devoted Cleric are just nonbinding options or titles without any strict meaning. And paragon paths determine maybe 10 % or less of the choices…
I do not know what Cryptic is planning. But I have opened a related thread with response from Community Moderators. http://nw-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?239381-Cryptic-inform-and-educate-us-players
That is worth to be tried out. But special powers should have cooldown. Otherwise there might be no tactics but only random dying until the boss is dead. Besides, cooldown and time to recover might be more interesting than only "fair" boss strikes that can be easily avoided.
Another problem is the overspecialization of classes and equipment. A Control Wizard should not be a requirement. And GF is a defender, forget the classic "I tank the boss" role.
Most want to pay for what seems to be resonable effort. This is not easy with a F2P strategy. But we want have reasonable prices. Like pay 10 € for infinite respec. Or 2 € per bag. I paid 48 € for Guild Wars 2. I paid 25 € for The Secret World. What do I have to pay for reasonable comfort and basic features in this game ?
Agree. Classes are much too specialized as well. Even much more than D&D 4e. The gear restrictions are crazy. If you want to play differently, then pay or roll a new character. Motivation is probably the stupid game press: 1) Less players complaining about end game. Many players will try another class. 2) Many player…
Do you mean the devtracker ? This is a useless mess of a single thread. I mean one thread per topic. Like: Our view on the cash shop Like: Our view on the cleric aggro Like: Our view on the lack of classes Like: Our view on the TR. It is not OP. Whatever they do to bring sanity to the forum, it does not work. More effort…
I understood from your last post that you are not happy because your playstyle does not work and there is no other way then playing like a rogue with shield to be useful. I have checked the forums (full of complaints anyway) and many GF players evoke these points: - not robust enough. GWF, Rogue and Cleric are as robust.…
I have read them. I could tell you to read mine as well as they answer your points. But since I have not played GF, I can not contradict you based on my gaming experience. Which would not match your (failing) playstyle anyway. I just wonder why some players still like the GF because they have probably chosen that (tank)…
I have to admit that I have not yet played GF. But I think that GF powers are useful even without being the center of the battlefield. Otherwise there would be no doubt among GF players that GF suck. You also said that you specced for defense even though it worked worse over time. Why continuing the hard way ?
You seem to come from other MMO. Why would a monster fight a can of unbreakable steel if there are more fragile and dangerous targets ? I hope that tanks will not become monster magnets just to justify the passive tank playstyle.
But why limit the possibilities without good reason ? A cleric with 2 weapons is not out of place at all. Maybe iconic weapons for a thief god ?! The less wanted a combination, the less likely you will ever see it. Given you might actually detect such a weird character.
Obviously the wizard with hammer is extreme and actually not very useful. Especially with the current powers (e.g. nothing like tenser's transformation). No gear restriction offers more to every player than another specialized class every 5-6 months that you might not like and that you have to level up. Compared to most…
