People aren't getting their RP from the zen store; they are getting it from the AH. Stack of peridots is what, around 75k right now for 50k RP? Stacks of lesser resonance stones (250k RP) are like 7 bucks from the AD sellers. Ways to farm arti equipment RP are kind of limited, especially for the massive amounts you need to…
One of the ways to do that is to increase by a HUGE magnitude the RP drops; others have mentioned, clearing dungeons should literally shower you with RP. Right now, the most rewarding ways to play the game are to not actually play it; doing leadership on an army of alts and even doing Sword Coast Adventures is more…
Another thing with Tiamat is just that it is a straight DPS race. You either have the DPS or you don't, and you can usually tell before the summoners are dead if you do. While a team of barely-geared players might get through a T1/T2 dungeon on skill, ability synergy and scrappiness, that isn't happening in Tiamat. You…
I still play because the gameplay is still extremely fun for me and the guild I am in is full of awesome people. That being said, I voted unhappy with the game in general because the endgame of farm AD to buy RP is fricking stupid as hell.
Tiamat isn't even the best way to get the Linu for boons anymore anyway; farming hoard coffers/heralds (or the AD to buy hoard coffers) is. 100 coffers = 1 Linu. Tiamat is a total HAMSTER shoot unless you are in one of the handful of channels that are routinely successful at it, or you are adept…
Dungeons are only worth running because of the ultra-rare expensive T1 drops (emblem of seldarine, horn of lostmauth, etc) - which you then sell and basically turn into HAMSTER for refinement. Bottom line:refinement is the devil. Who the heck thought up needing multiple high rank enchants to…
The way is to make high level enchants actually drop. Then that changes everything. Drop some rank 10s/11s out there as real drops from the dungeons; that makes them actually worth doing. Most people look at the endgame of neverwinter the wrong way. It is not about doing the dungeons to get your armor; the T2 ones are…
It is distressing because the REAL endgame is farming or flat out buying the astral diamonds required to buy the 60 million-ish RP you need to max out 4 artifacts and 4 pieces of artifact equipment, not to mention rank 10+ enchants in all slots. Notice I did not say farming RP itself; with the massive amounts required and…
Having the same problem - have not been able to log in the last hour +. I thought it was the crappy hotel internet connection at first, but if other people are experiencing the same thing, maybe not.
I fully expect the same thing that happened to stormspell to happen to this set eventually, as it is essentially the same mechanic with the same 'problems' as stormspell. Of course, whether you see it as an actual problem depends a fair bit on whether you own the set or not, hehe.
I feel like somehow, Cryptic failed to anticipate that adding so much UNBOUND (!!!!!) RP to Icewind Dale would result in almost the entirety of the max-level playerbase doing nothing but riding in circles around icewind pass farming those encounters. It makes me wonder if any of them actually play the game at a high level.…
Wow. That is a pretty monstrous evisceration of CW damage there with Storm Spell. Internal cooldown AND impossible for it to crit? Ouch. And Icewind Dale, heh, I knew that wouldn't last for too long, was fun while it lasted. Looks like the Heralds are going to be back in vogue!!!
I think part of the answer should be to start putting RP everywhere - and it seems they are moving in that direction, with the way they added some to the Dr/Sharandar daily quests. I believe it won't be long before there is a few k RP in every dungeon chest; WoD heroics has RP rewards; the rest of the dailies get RP added…
LOL, there is no such video because it won't be possible. Tiamat is at its heart a DPS race; you can have all the tactics in the world, but at the end of the day, you either have the DPS to bring down the heads in time or you don't. And you don't have the DPS at that gear level, simple as that. OR, put another way, top…
The class is just not designed to DPS. It will never keep pace at level 70 with an equally geared/skilled any other class - except maybe DC or GF - no matter what you do. Really, what the Justice tree allows is adding in some decent utility to your main role, and making your campaign dailies go that much faster. And its…
Uh, sounds like working as intended to me. Being indestructible AND tearing through everything at full DPS pace? That is kind of the tradeoff of being indestructible, not being able to do that.
You can't honestly believe that. Name me once in the entire history of MMOs where, when one item of a class of items was obviously superior in every way to everything else in that class, everything else was buffed to that level instead of one thing being nerfed down. I am sure it will remain potent; maybe not as potent as…
Most group damage in this game is about AoE and positioning. Relentless Avenger makes that damage extremely inefficient. It is useful in specific group situations, depending on group makeup, like maybe it is you and 4 warlocks or something. Other than that, well, I just don't see it. If you are blowing mobs everywhere, it…
Every now and then you get a bugged instance - not sure what causes it, or how they close, but the game/queue system does not recognize them as bugged and keeps filling them. Can be very frustrating if one of them floats up during Delve hour and there is not much that can be done about it except forming your own 5 person…
Heh. For the vast majority of the playerbase - who experiences the dungeons via the queue system - they are not regularly doable even if you have the movement skills of a master. At that ilvl, there is no margin for error, and the queue will not give you optimal groups as a rule; if you do get one, say a prayer to Tymora…
Interesting in that video that there is almost no healing, 3 mil? That is some awesome damage avoidance/mitigation, obviously key when everything can kill you in just about one hit.
Well, I don't think anyone is seeing Tiamat in the near future, regardless of gear score. It might be possible right now, abusing certain 'questionable mechanics' introduced with Mod 6; maybe a few enterprising souls with maxxed current item levels managed to take her back down, I don't read the forums enough to know. But…
Bond will turn off if you get stunned/frozen/CC'd in just about any way. Just knocked down, it stays on. Anything else, it will turn off. I normally just keep an eye on it to see if it goes on cooldown; if it does, I know it's time to refresh. :)
Campaigns are doable at level 70 with the blue gear you get while levelling and greens. Before then though, not so much unless you got friends carrying you along. Well of Dragons is kind of out of whack though; I just avoid it now except for the odd dragon run because it sucks terrible. Icewind Dale was also pretty much…
I don't think any of that would happen; they went for a gear reset here to get rid of set bonuses they thought overpowered. The goal was to have people ditching their old armor almost immediately into the levelling process or be unable to continue, to even the playing field back out some. Of course, they screwed it up by…
Enemies make better use of combat advantage now too - I don't remember seeing that before. The rogue-types especially will circle around you and dominate you a handful of hits unless you react extremely quickly; really noticeable with the quicklings in Sharandar. Those little buggers will massacre you in a second if they…
