With all the discussion about the CW SS nerf/adjustment/what have you, I thought it only fair to ask about the Lair of Lostmauth set bonus and it's current state.
It's now been multiple months since the manner in which it procc'd suddenly made it BiS for any number of damage-dealing classes, and two weeks since the patch which adjusted the class feature CW had which essentially functioned the same way.
So if there is an 'official' answer I've missed, I'd love to see it, if we can get one, that'd be amazing, otherwise more than happy to listen to discussion of how Lostmauth is a "Secondary-striker-tertiary-controller-primary-nitwit" and/or when or how this set might be changed.
Stormspell was free, putting rp into an artifact set is expensive. The silence on the topic has been enormous.
yeah that doesnt mean it should be so op. its not even made for cw's yet its bis for this class. btw im a cw and refuse to use the lol set. i just cant stand it.
I fully expect the same thing that happened to stormspell to happen to this set eventually, as it is essentially the same mechanic with the same 'problems' as stormspell.
Of course, whether you see it as an actual problem depends a fair bit on whether you own the set or not, hehe.

Im 100% sure it will be nerfed next week after the 2xRP this weekend.
I am a full tank and using it. How exactly should it be nerfed? Yes because from my decade old experience with mmorpgs, everytime someone wants to nerf DPS, they end up nerfing tanks a tad more. That said, I am curious about what are your ideas on how it could be done.
If you are aware of how storm spell was nerfed probably pretty similar to that but more severe. Its the least amount of effort for cryptic to put in.
For the purposes of pve groups no one cares about tank damage. Its nice but its not their necessary function. For the purposes of pvp that would depend on your crit. There are other major pvp damage issues so while its still mandatory its not the sore thumb sticking out like it is in pve.
Well Im happy with original (real WAI) bonus as GWF; this set would be still usable for GWF, TR, HR, conq GF. This was designed for melee classes. About SS nerf, do you forgot your CWs-butthurt about deep gash dealing way too damage? Now we have same butthurt about lol set.
You can take the attitude of class war if you want but its a bit silly. Most cws are running the lol set so its not even relevant on top of silly.

I thought it should have been a tier 3 or 4 destroyer feat and left the way it was so you couldn't have sents being unkillable and doing most of the destroyer damage in pvp. And I was certainly against the nerfs that went into mod 3.

Well maybe it wasnt you, but many others vote for nerf.:) I think nerfing SS was right decision but... they should bring back shard, old singu and some other stuff. Now each time pvping I get tons of ice knifes, desintegrations, repels on my head (thanks to spell twisting+ap gain). In PvP geared CW is on top atm, a bit cheesy. PvE... is different. More CC focus, less DPS (but still not bad, met some mage who was close to mine as MoF).

I also would like some of our encounter damage back. No one wanted or asked for stormspell to be what it was but we play the game we're given.
I wouldn't hold much hope for singularity. There are fewer mobs in t2 dungeons so the number cap isn't the problem with it. They have control resist so they don't get grouped easily and they can attack in singularity. In mod 6 when they can 1 shot that's more the kind of thing you want to cut down rather than increasing aoe dps for the group. Even if it did group mobs properly I still wouldn't use it just because of that.
As for the pvp people complain about cws but trs and ops are obviously better and an equal geared hr or gf should always kill the cw in a 1v1. That said there are far more glaring issues in pvp that mostly have to do with negation enchantment and piercing damage. Everything else is small potatoes in comparison.
DPS wise nothing even comes close to a SM destroyer even before the ss nerf or even taking sw puppets doing millions of damage into account.
Well im not relying on fotm SM build, still using IV destro mainly for FLS+threating rush. I have been outdpsed only by SM and damnation SW. But you know, when they nerf lol set/remove ability bonus proc with non-damaging encounter like DS = SM will lose tons of damage. Doubt if they would still use DS after that.
About PvP: TRs always were on top (even with low damage they contested nodes and could kill! immortal senti in mod2), HRs are broken a bit, GFs rely on WoE,lol+nega.
150% HP makes room for MoFs and im happy with that. Always want unleash fire.

I think the only issue with it is that it is out of balance with other sets. Imperial gives a "chance" to deal 25% weapon damage on a hit. Lostmauth is 100% weapon damage on a crit. So even if imperial did 25% on every hit it would only be on par with Lostmauth if the person only had 25% crit chance.
As we all know, many builds are going considerably beyond 25%. and Imperial isn't dealing weapon damage on every hit.
However, don't change it now, I'm planning to use 2xRP to switch from imperial to lostmauth.

So it's WAI? because in Player Feedback (PC) i see this thread as answered but not seeing a clear answer

It's not just about CA. When you apply mark you have 20% extra dmg for yourself and 8% extra for the whole group. If you are an IV, you can apply double mark to your enemies with Threatening Rush. If there's a GF, more marks can be applied = even more damage.
Also, for your information, it's not just for the "offensive" portion of DS, you also get 25% damage reduction for 10s when you use DS in an elite mob and it can stack up to 80% DR which is the lowest amount of damage than an enemy can deal to you. The amount of DR depends on how powerful is the enemy (minions, elite, boss, etc).
For a GWF, using DS instead of another offensive encounter means much more overall damage. So lol's set nerfed or not, DS is still an irreplaceable encounter for us.
Will see after nerf... Im marking my targets too, so you can stop threat me like student. DS has limited range while mobs could stay not in range while sprint doesnt give enough DR to mitigate 1KO from archers or melee with big range attack. All looks good on the paper. Personally this playstyle with DS is awful for me, it doesnt fit to old SM I used to played for few mods since Beta. FLS, threating are fine and I help my party survive not only selfish dps all stuff for Big D Damage in chart at the end of the dungeon. Still hitting like truck.

You are derailing the chat. We are talking about the impact of the nerf to the lostmauth's set for Swordmasters who are using DS. You stated that they will lose a lot of their damage and they could also stop using DS because of that. I said that is wrong due to the facts that I wrote. If you personally like to use DS or not, that's completely irrelevant to the discussion.
