I am archer only because what is the point being ranged if you're just going to be basically another TR? =/ But I now have both sets. I am still refining the Orcus set. So if anyone is interested in how it works for archery, I will post once I get the data.
My speculation is that neither is better than the other. They're just good at different circumstances. But let's say you drop a smokebomb on a group of mobs with Orcus set. You will be doing almost no difference in damage until they're at least 50% hp and you'll only be doing 10% increase which isn't that great. By that…
I could be wrong, but you also have to take into consideration the encounter powers you're using. The elol set is based on anytime you crit. IE: If you're using lashing blade it only hits once and you only proc elol once, then you have a long cooldown. Switch to powers that do multiple hits like path of the blade, smoke…
When assessing OP's you have to see them in comparison to GF's. Right now, GF's are superior because they have a better taunt because they can block while taunting. OP has to release sanctuary to cast encounters and once they do that, they die to Orcus's hits. OP has taunting at-wills but they have to release sanctuary to…
No changes to the "healing" third tree? It's basically useless. I've yet to see any SW go temptation. 1) maybe this could be a pvp spec with survivability 2) if it's a healing spec, it will need to contend with DC (meaning buffs/dbuffs) 3) how about a spec that loses some dps but focuses on CC
... no, if you set your threshold for blue items, you will only roll on blue and higher items for all dungeons until you change it. If you want green and higher items you just change to green. This makes it so much easier. If you're in a party, and you only want blue items, you will pass on all green and lower items.
Here's a simple trick. After he does that to you, follow him but keep out of view like a ninja. Then when he goes to kill mobs, you go steal his quest item. Now you're even. Boom!
It's the same thing. An ability that does damage and buffs simultaneously would be similar to HR Longstrider Shot. But this does very little damage because an ability that does high damage and buffs would be too strong. This is why people rarely ever use in 5 man dungeons. So, if they were to make a class that dealt damage…
The current classes are viable because they all fill their niche roles. That's why OP didn't kill DC, or GF (although OP almost did kill GF, hence the nerf) HR or SW didn't kill CW because CW is better at control. If your party doesn't need control you might want a SW who is pure caster dps - two different niche roles ...…
A healing bard who can support is basically another DC. Unless they make him excel at something, maybe single target heals. They would really need to make something unique about the class to make it viable. The strikers on the other hand are all unique in their own way. A TR is supposed to be good at single target bosses,…
True, but if you have a class that can heal and support vs a class that can only support, which are you going to take with you into dungeons? Therefor bards will get the short end of the stick unless they can fill some kind of niche that the other classes can't.
The problem with druids: many of their nature themed spells are already made with the HR. They are healers and spell casters which we already have: DC and OP. Summon animal? SW already have the 'pet' mechanic. Not sure where their niche could be. The problem with bards: a class based purely on support won't be viable…
