This is a thread about Geas and the precedent it sets in the game. Firstly, I do not believe that geas should be able to disable bosses, this has never been an option in any MMO and I don't see why this should change now. By having a single ability with this power it sets the precedent that being able to stun bosses for 1 minute is ok, which is something that makes absolutely no sense.
Geas can stun/CC boss type enemies?! :O I can only hope that was an oversight on the developer's part and will be corrected in future patches, which seems likely considering I am not aware of any other CC ability on other classes like CWs that can do that. Otherwise considering the nature of some people who play this game it would be wide open to abuse/exploits.
That said I am happy with DCs having this ability as it fits in with their role as support/healer and is a more tactical spell with it affecting only one target, which I feel is more balanced than the still slightly OP CW approach of charge in and be able to stun everything.

There isnt a class in the game that cant kite a scorp, every one can. Sometimes lag can be a issue. but you dont need geas to do it.

That argument is so illogical that I can't believe you even making it. CW has imprisonment, an ability which is comparable to geas and no CW uses it, yet no CW complains that it is underpowered and that it needs a buff. Just because something is no longer OP (which geas was) doesn't mean that it has been unfairly nerfed. Can I just point out that the dc class is in a fine position this mod WITHOUT geas and doesn't need it to be a strong pve class. In fact, geas post nerf is still stronger then imprisonment, although to be honest I would not use either of them. Players who understand the dc class well, seem to be on the whole happy with the dc's performance this mod. They are an excellent buff/heal/mit/debuff class that is very versatile in the way they can play. Unlike SW they are not the miserable underdog who needs to be buffed. Neither are they a class that is defined by geas or that has geas as their only crutch, so stop making out as if the class is useless without it. Divine glow, astral shield + 1 other damage/buff encounter work fine for dc, geas has no place on the hotbar already because there were already existing encounters that are better that aren't OP.

After getting rid of the Seals from Sharandar and dread Ring would it be possible to give out, say 5 or 10 Protector's Seals or elemental seals as mini dungeon rewards?

That argument is so illogical that I can't believe you even making it. CW has imprisonment, an ability which is comparable to geas and no CW uses it, yet no CW complains that it is underpowered and that it needs a buff. Just because something is no longer OP (which geas was) doesn't mean that it has been unfairly nerfed. Can I just point out that the dc class is in a fine position this mod WITHOUT geas and doesn't need it to be a strong pve class. In fact, geas post nerf is still stronger then imprisonment, although to be honest I would not use either of them. Players who understand the dc class well, seem to be on the whole happy with the dc's performance this mod. They are an excellent buff/heal/mit/debuff class that is very versatile in the way they can play. Unlike SW they are not the miserable underdog who needs to be buffed. Neither are they a class that is defined by geas or that has geas as their only crutch, so stop making out as if the class is useless without it. No..unlike imprisonment..where u can activate it anywhere and anytime, geas require team effort to isolate the target u wanna geas..if its so easy to use geas..then i would have agree its OP already..its clearly not OP..just some player doesnt like that type of gamplay thats all..and we have to follow those playstyle they dictate
And its not about DC cant live without geas...its about DC just lost a tool..geas is dead..thats the point..and the whole design behind it as well..i felt bad for the designer...just because some selfish player doesn't approve of that gameplay, it has to go..thanks for making life like boring again..
Without Geas, I would not have been able to solo Biggrin.
Biggrin final boss fight starts with 3 witches with ranged attack.
3 ranged attacks are too much for my DC to tank/dodge.
First, I tried to put all witches in a small circle to control them, but one witch always slips out.
With Geas, I stunned one witch, and using sunburst, was able to move other two witches against the wall, together.
I never imagined using Geas on bosses until I read this thread.
Right before the final witch was dead, I removed Geas because Biggrin can be tanked and/or dodged.
Does not bother me that Geas will not work on control immune monsters.
Geas can still be a useful tool.
What we need now are multiple power tray bar loadouts which can be quickly swapped.
I don't want to die while adding/removing Geas (or other powers) in battle.
Muh precious Geas!!! My only way of ever being wanted in dungeons is now gone!! Oh my god what am I gonna do!!!!

The point people are trying to make is that geas is a useless encounter now. It is nerf to the point that you can't use it anymore.
It is fine is they would have toned it down a bit, but by destroying it really made the encounter unusable.

I never liked the design of geas, and made my feelings known in feedback, but since we were given it, I did use it for pvp.
The feedback giving and the ABSOLUTE lack of updates on our feedback, was one of the worst insults Ive seen since Ive started playing mmos. over 90% of the entire work was either bugged, or lacked any synergy with the class (IE will never be used) and they just refused to work on any of it.. NOT one pass through! Not one.
I literally have never not, had someone respond during testing phase before. IF they didnt want us to test the DCs, then they shouldve just locked them out.
The existance of geas is good. It's very hard to use because of all the DoT damage that exists in the game. So unless you have a very strong coordination you won't make geas work. And if you have a coordinated enough party to make geas work, then you don't need geas, you'll win anyway.
A note I just want to say to all the CWs that whine about geas. Mod6 gave you the most ******ed encounter I have presenced lately. Cws can dish out ridiculous amoutns of damage, yet they still whine when another class has one cc stronger than theirs that is so situational it hardly can even be considered.
CWs have around 100k health, do ******ed single target and aoe damage, have numerous and strong ccs, are tanky beyong reason. But some 2 cent sewer rat is crying because of geas.
