Yeah I think some discretion is needed in group content so as not to irritate everyone else in the group. So in group content I will only pick up mainhand/offhand greens, and all blues, but the rest of the greens I will leave behind. So far this strategy has seemed to work out well.

But when soloing, yeah, I'll pick up everything.

Not picking up greens while in a group is a given.
But solo, I'm identifying appropriate greens for the artifact equipments I have still to refine. It's 200+ rp each and my looted scrolls are almost enough to keep me going anyway.
I'm at 8-10 % hoard drop chance and greens and blues still account for roughly 5-8% of my refinement*. It's not negligible and totally manageable if you do it during the dragon hoard cool down.

    * : In a slow solo farming hour, about 15-20 appropriate greens/blues = about 3500-4000 RP, and about 50-60K rp through hoard enchants.

Its a waste in dungeon to pick normal green up - simply because you probably cant get enough id scrolls for all the green stuff.

However I would pick up a green mainhand - cause its 200 points, as everybody would pick up a rank 4 enchant being 270 points.

Secondly - these can crit up to 100 % extra refinement points. So if lucky its 400 refinementpoints.

When you solo farm by killing mobs - if you got an alt that can kill effectively and fast - you can actually make like 10-15 k refinement points per hour picking up green stuff, when talking mainhand refinement.

And since your dragon hoard enchants has about 20 seconds cooldown - you might as well spend that time picking up stuff and id it. That is if you kill fast ofc.

For me green and blue stuff acount for 20 % of my refinement points. I leveled 5 pieces of artifact gear hardly using the AH. But doing most of the refining during 2x events. (refining stones saved)

It takes roughly 80-100 hours of farming for me to level one artifact equipment to legendary.

Thus it would take approx 5 times that to do it with green and blue stuff alone. x 10 if refining something other than mainhand. (offhands drop pretty frequent, so that probably in between 5-10)

So, if all you ever do feed 50 100RP items a day, it will take approximately 2 years and 11 days.
    Not 98.63 years.

Still, 2 years and 11 days is a LONG time, indeed.

However, the point he's making is that each and every bit of
extra RP you add, adds up over time. He's not saying to only refine greens.

As usual for the Zeb, well done analysis and explanation.

This forum would be at such a loss without you! Thanks for the analysis yet again! :)

I'd love to have an auto-pass setting so I could set it to green and below. If someone wants to pick up greens to refine, that's fine. But I'd rather not see the loot roll pop up at all. They can have them :)

This. Without an auto-passing system or without loot rolls spamming my screen (i have moved the results elsewhere but you can't remove the actual roll) I'm super against it. It just annoys the hell out of me and I will express it towards the green picking party member. Also as mentioned by other people, it's just not worth it. It'll take you ages to refine with or without them.

You buy extra scrolls. They are currently selling for about 100 AD each on AH. So that works out to be a 1:1 RP/AD ratio for non-matching green gear, and 2:1 RP/AD ratio for matching green gear. You can't get better value than that anywhere else.

This thread has made me rethink my attitude to greens. I'll now be ID'ing and using any that match my artifact types. So that's main hand, offhand, neck and waist. 200 RP points per ID scroll is worthwhile I think.

You can buy the green stuff cheaper I believe though its a pain to grab a single item from mail multiple times.

When they redid gear, level 60 green neck, waist, and most off-hand items (except TR daggers) were not implemented. I have only seen green necks come from the loot bags from Tymora enchants.

The new content on preview appears to have green level 61 gear of all types though. The same ID scrolls are tooltipped to say they can be used on items up to level 70. RP from green gear over level 60 has not been increased but this doesn't mean it won't be as there's a lot of stuff not anywhere near finalized.

I don't pick up green and blue gear in groups because everybody has to stop what they're doing, possibly dieing, in order to click pass. That stuff should be taken out of dungeons.
If it annoys you that someone picks up all greens, why not just to change the settings of group looting. Set them to blue or higher and problem is solved.

Because enchantments are green. Besides, we're not all group leaders.

Artefacts and artefact belts are green loot, too. I see a pattern, annoy ppl, till they pass on anything grenn, including artefacts. Just kidding, but we kicked ppl from ESOT runs too, if they ignored every polite reminder, that the rest of the group is still fighting, while they collect items.

Can I just point out, the value of greater identification scrolls on the AH. This is because, if a green item is worth less then an identification scroll on the AH, there is absolutely, utterly NO REASON to loot them.

Ah, well that proves how quick I've been to just merch my green drops. I don't even look at them. I will pay more attention in future.

And they are running about 100AD. which means if you only ID greens that you can use you are getting 2RP/AD. Best price in town. Heck if you buy them off of the game at 125AD each you are still getting 8RP/5AD still better than any other buy. Again I don't grab them in parties because I hate the loot notification spam and would not wish it on any of us. But it is worth hitting F when solo.
