OMG people, yesterday we had scheduled maintenance and today we have some emergency maintenance. IT is not the end of the world. No they do not owe "you" any compensation. NWO has had very little emergency maintenance, unlike other MMO I could name.
SOme suggestions: Try going outside and take a look at that shiny yellow orb in sky.
Read a book.
Give your SO some attention.
Take a nap.
If your adventuresome, try our Windows 10 Tech Preview ( no issue running NWO for me at all)
Those were the ones I could think of off the top of my head.

I invoke when I wake up, and b4 I go to bed, and every chance I have in between. I have never lost coins that way, no matter when or how long the maintenance is. The 20 hr timer is reset each time you invoke, but the time you get your coins is not. So try that instead of whining about losing coins all the time.
Also, I'd expect the maintenance guys to work during their normal day, not at 3 AM their time.
The population of Europe is about 742 million, including European Russia. The population of The Americas is about 954 million. How many of those actually have internet access, I do not know. But having the normal maintenance between about 3 PM and 6 PM on Thursdays in the UK is fine for me.
I just wish Cryptic's Splash Screen for Neverwinter understood the 24-hour clock.
In Germany and France it's 4 PM to 7 PM, in Finland 5 to 8, in Russia it's 6 to 9. How would you like that?
The US + Canada have 350 million people. There are a lot less players in the rest of the America's and in Africa and Australia as well. Asia usually have there own servers. 50% of the players in Europe is almost certainly not an overestimation.
So it's very possible to do maintenance at a time which is convenient for the great majority of your players (sorry Aussie's). I've played a good number of MMO's and this is the first I notice maintenance on a regular basis. Yes, it's annoying for the maintenance personnel to work at night, but it's common practice in the industry and lots of people do it.

My DCs do not fare much better, except they have an extra 3k GS, more Tenacity and can buff a bit.
