Honestly I tried this game many times in a few different set ups with Xpadder they all sucked IMO. The default profile from Pinnacle is the one I'm using now with the most success it has almost everything but is missing the #6 key for the mount but as I still play in front of the KB I just hit it when I need the mount. (just a tip don't use the rencloudkicker profile it's missing key button maps and you won't be happy no SHIFT = fail)
Are there any programs that are free? I've skimmed a few pages here but I've noticed that Xpadder isn't free and I'm in a tight spot for about a month at the moment... I'm trying to use an Xbox Tournament controller (hopefully something the sensitivity on the anolog sticks can be configured as they're kinda worn and aren't very centered anymore)
Reinstalled the game via ARC and my XPADDER/Xbox 360 combo stopped working for the game, help?!

I used Joy to Key for SWTOR before buying Xpadder. On my mobile or I would link it here. IIRC that is free.
Is NW tied to Arc in some way as to prevent the use of a game pad? It seem that when I use ARC no gamepad. Now I am unable to launch NW without Arc as I used to. Any comments or advise?
I try to launch NW sole and the patch comes up then a locked file msg. It then goes into a patch loop.
Thanks

try opening xpadder in admin mode and launch NW from you drive (not arc). just open the drive you have the Perfect World Entertainment folder installed and open NW direct. hope this helps

And that was when arc was running and the game was already running as well and it still worked
Sorry for really basic question, but is it fun/enjoyable/comfortable to play NW with controller ?
It's abit of a pain to navigate menus. I've basically gotten used to put the controller down if I'm going through afew menus then picking it back up for combat. The game is currently designed to easily navigate inventory or anything with third party software. Not sure why they just don't add controller support. Just the ability to scroll through inventory or options with the up down left right buttons would be a huge bonus.

I have been trying to get some info on this. Has Neverwinter been updated to use built in controller support?
I am disabled, and cannot play with a keyboard and mouse. I have been able to play STO with a controller, and even do the keybinds myself. If not for being able to do that, I couldn't play STO.
I have been wanting to play Neverwinter. I cannot use xpadder, and other secondary programs because they keep messing up my Windows 8.1. I am hoping someone can help me out with this.

Just use xpadder or motion joy and start playing... Its so easy ...
I ve been playing on xpadder since jun 2013 and its wonderfull.
Thanks for the reply.
I have tried those, and I think there was about one or two others. I have an ASUS computer with Windows 8.1 and for some reason those programs mess up things on my computer, and they don't work right.
I don't know if it is the ASUS software from the manufacture, or something else. However, I can't get those programs to work. If they did, I would be playing TOR and this game. I want to try both of them out so bad.
I guess that I will just have to wait till the developers update it, if they ever do. If not, then hopefully one of those programs is updated enough to work on this brand of computer without messing up.
If I knew enough about computers, I would just remove all of the ASUS HAMSTER that comes on the computer, and see if that fixes the problem. However, I know as much about computers as I do rocket science. I know they work, and if someone says you push this button to make it work, then I can do that. If anything needs to be done on it though, then I am not the guy to do it. Lol
Again, I do thank you for the reply.

Usually ASUS software, while mostly obsolete and useless, doesn't interfere with game controllers. Windows 8 however, is a gamers nightmare. Have you tried running XPadder in compatibility mode? If not, try.
To do so, browse to the folder where XPadder is installed, right click the program file and select properties. the rest is as showed in the screenshot below. Set compatibility for either XP (sp3) or win7.
Thank you for this. I will try later today, if I can, to download Xpadder again, and give it a try with this change. I really hope it fixes it. Neverwinter looks like it can be a fun game. Also, now that I know this, if it works, I might be able to play TOR with some of my STO friends that have been playing both.
I do hope that they update the game so that these extra programs are not needed though. That would be awesome.

Well, looks like I am not going to be able to play this, or TOR.
Back when I had Xpadder, a friend of mine bought it for me to use. When I started having problems with it, I deleted it, not knowing that I couldn't reclaim it again later. Since I am disabled, and have no income, I cannot get it again.
I tried Pinnacle, however they now charge. So that is out of the question also.
I guess that I will need to wait till they update their system to support controllers, if they ever do.

. . . There's this thread as well that we've been keeping around. It may need to be reviewed by someone currently using a controller though, as I do not any longer for Neverwinter. [h=3]Sticky: [Guide] ==> Xpadder Configs for Neverwinter <==[/h]

I am having the same problem. Xpadder works on everything except for when Neverwinter launches or when the Arc screen is up.

No promises but try opening Xpadder as Admin by right clicking xpadder and choose to run as admin. This works for me.

I am able to play now, though, the movement is a bit odd in Neverwinter. I guess it is the same engine that STO runs on.
I am also able to play SWTOR, though it is taking a while to get the hang of it.
Thank you for the help though.

THERE IS NO SUCH OPTION IN NW ANYWHERE.
Please change this missleading "help" post.
