"Monsters" had some wicked lag at times, which has nothing to do with the HR "Shift" feature that just doesn't work. The results? Getting hammered instead of being clearly out of the way. Downhill race was plagued by some slowdown, at least for me, just before gates 2 and 3. On foot I almost never made those two gates within the time frame, with a 50% speed increase using my Sled those weren't an issue of passing them "on time", but being slowed may have been the difference in a better finishing rank.

Fairly certain those areas were right next to the Monsters on Ice area so any lag is more than likely attributable to the many seismic shot fountains that were probably there. I didn't notice any lag after the server restart last week it was only after a few days when the areas started getting bugged that the slowdown creeped up. Prior to that I didn't notice any lag in areas including the MoI one.

I was not as emotionally invested in this festival as I had been in the Midsummer party...my primary is a cleric of Sune and I have never role-played more around the raucous combats and competitions...but still, this was a pleasant diversion. I got lucky with the AD-to-Zen-to-Keys-to-Profit gamble at about the halfway point and ended up with enough Trade Bars that I no longer had to grind out fishing to get multiples of the companions for investment purposes. I'll be giving away most of the 90 Lightwines I made...after all, what is wine for if not social lubrication? Let's keep the party going, people!

. . .Next year! Most MMORPGs that have seasonal events have things that take a couple, if not more, years to get everything. Naturally, if you "have to have everything," it's going to take work and dedication. This is Neverwinter's first year, in time all these events will be regular occurrences through out the seasons, just like we see in other popular MMORPGs that have rewards that take years to get.

    Just some feedback!

I as well as many with whom I chatted would have liked to see the barrels in PE along with the Winter Festival Event Vendor, so we could have traded for the lights we earned. I really put a damper and made it feel like wasted effort! And the crating should have lasted as long as the Winter Festival Event Vendor Remained in PE.

Why hold the fish? They were necessary for crafting the Hero's Feast, which in itself was a real pain to craft as you were only allowed to craft one step at a time and each of the smaller steps took 2min with one crafter. Why was there not a mass craft option?
Needed four modes, could only craft two at a time every two min, then four modes to make a larger, forgot the name, 2 min each, then 10 of the larger and fish to make the Hero's Feast. What a time suck!

The Angler Skeletons on the frozen lake were good but they should have provided drops to make it worth while. Not only that but their attack radius was way too large and sensitive. I found myself being attacked my up to three from surrounding fishing holes, and then by the one from my fishing hole, adding insult to injury, delaying my fishing and affecting my score as well as providing nothing in the way of rewards for having just taken up my time.

If the fish can be used again they should have their own storage tab instead of taking up normal storage, maybe a tab for each event type?

The LAGG in Monsters on Ice was terrible, you could perform an action and die the next second, wow that was really bad!

Beyond that it was fun, I only started playing the event to earn a Fawn primarily, I started late so I could not get the Mimic, well not the way I would have wanted to. As such, I suggest making items "Account Bound" instead of "Character Bound", it would allow consolidation of resources instead of multiple small but unusable resources with each character!

My two cents! With inflation being what it is, that is not much!

You think that the exact same rewards will be on offer next year as we had this year ? gawd I really hope not , the Mimic , Fawn and sleigh were nice but they need to be different every year , many people got all the rewards and having the same ones again next time would make the event completely pointless for such players.

In my experience, the same rewards will be offered, but they usually also offer new ones... some new varieties of scarves, maybe a different style or color of sled, maybe some other companion(s) or horse, etc. It seems like a waste to completely remove awards that the devs have worked on, and deprive newer players of the chance to get them...

. . .Just by seeing how other MMORPGs do their yearly/seasonal and other events, yes I do expect them to release the same rewards next year -- along with new things of course, for those who already have what they want this go-round. If they don't, then they're going to upset a lot more people that way by making them one time exclusive. So yes, I do think and hope that they will offer the same rewards next year, along with new things.

My experience is the the best games BUILD on events like these. Yeah, most of the same stuff will be there, but with a few changes and expansions. Maybe with a few more Crafters and Crafting Tasks. Eliminating some of the more obnoxious parts.

In another sense it's also a benefit to release new stuff every year and not bring back the old rewards. It's a little hard to describe, I saw it happen in games like Guild Wars and Rappelz, old players would have really cool stuff that you know you can no longer get but you'd want to stick around and play a little longer because then you'd have something cool to show off too. It's a strange sensation which I will now name the "flashiness effect".

Every game I played had seasonal event with the same rewards every year. But there were very unique items, it could take you 3 years to get some of them. In Nevewinter yeah, not sure If something would force me to play these events in the next year (current, basically).

Yeah this is what I was thinking , the rewards for the big yearly events like Halloween and Winterfest in Guild wars were totally exclusive year by year , even WoW had exclusive rewards for Feast of Winter veil ( fair enough some got recolored versions released later ) but whatever. As long as there are new rewards for it along with the old ones I'm not really bothered.

Personally, I prefer different rewards every year. IMHO, this is a way to 'reward' players who stick with the game since day one and is a nice gesture of appreciation for player loyalty. New players can start collecting event rewards when they start playing and if they stick around long enough, their collected event items will become 'exclusive' ones too.

A MMOrpg I played some time back actually gave different rewards based on how long the player has played the game.
