Even with event rewards doubled, premium prizes cost too much! Turns what has been an extremely FUN event into a dreaded endless chore for me. I was having sooo much fun participating, but after a week of solid, non-stop-for-HOURS-playing, not even earning half of what is required for me to get a fawn and a weapon skin for each toon, I am now hating to log in and have to grind again. I've been doing this for 16 days straight now (judging by my star count) and am only now reaching my goals.

I am not currently working, but if I was currently working full time? Impossible. And I thought Midsummer was bad... Just insane to require 4900 lights to get fawn and skins. I may not want to do special events on NW after this...

And it would've been nice, since you are encouraging us to do contests, to have something to do with all the extra emblems and rings earned ... perhaps convert them to lights since top prizes cost so dang much.

I loved this event! So much fun ... until it turned into a ceaseless grind for me to earn top prizes. All I wanted was fawn and weapon skin for each toon... I wish there were some mid-level prizes that could be earned so I could reward all my toons without needing to spend hours and hours and hours doing the same things over and over.

I love Twilight Run! My favorite event. It actually took skill to learn the course and be good at it, but being good at it is usually/sometimes rewarded. (Skill doesn't count, though, in crowded instances, where someone is bound to grab all the bonuses before you even can show up on the course and you cannot win without bonuses = 650 (top score possible without bonuses) runs will not get you Gold rank. I suggest bonus rewards given to those who can complete a clean run and earn top score! Also, there is a bug when jumping down toward third gate where sometimes toon will become airborne and fly for several seconds... this was fun - I'm flying! - until I learned that it automatically meant you would not get 100 pts for getting to 3rd gate in time. Also random bug noted by me and others that we were not always credited for hitting a gate or a bonus purse. And I lost several standings due to bug of unexpected slowdown, when my mount would inexplicably, for no discernible reason, slow to a walk; only fix is dismount/remount costing that section's rally gate's 100 pts.

Combat Fishing. *sigh* I had fun with the fishing event, could've been a nice relaxing break from event festivities except for being attacked by skeletons (Unlucky Anglers) every minute or so. And it never fails, when I'm in the homestretch with seconds to go and trying to click F as much as possible to earn as many last minute fish as I can, I'm invariably ALWAYS interrupted by a stupid attack. What fishermen in real life need to worry for their lives while fishing? Too many of these, when NONE are needed. I just imagine when it was play tested, some ADHD teenage test players said "this is boring - need some FIGHTING to liven things up." Relaxing does not always equal boring, folks. I mean, truly, several of my toons and also other players in chat mentioned that they received the SKELETON SLAYER title while fishing. Does this not imply there are just too many of these unnecessary annoyances in event?

I soon learned to avoid purple holes. Player gang bang and one attempt per purple hole that yields only Fish got away result. Even with purple pole and bait being used. (And is the purple bait DESIGNED to lure skeletons every time it is used?)

Monsters on Ice. This was fun and slipping/sliding dynamic was a nice touch. Great to see critters sliding as well, although it made it hard to pinpoint exactly where they and I would end up after all the gliding was done. I am not good at this event, but it is fun! I like that there were critters enough for all - even if some huge damage players were hogging all the kills on the first spawn area, there are additional spawn areas in the back where even low damage players like myself could get my 10 critters for the daily event quota requirement. Would've been bad if high damage players were allowed to get all the kills/clear the area before my GF could even run up to a single monster to give one hit. (This happened a lot during Midsummer event, glad it has been addressed here!)

Lightcrafting. I always enjoy crafting! Wish there were even more options of things to make! (Shorter cooking time items, so more to make, rather than long time to cook/wait for result.)

It's always handy to have some ALTs and/or character slots available when needed. Getting the daily Star with two chars covers Fawn/Horse/Weapon transmute for one main. Minimal effort (getting chars through the tutorial, park them at the Festival and log in once a day) and no grind required.

Alternative: Set up additional accounts with two free slots - the rewards are BoE.

They are unfortunately needed to combat bots. One could hope that if some sort of fishing sticks around that they could find another way to stop bots from being useful.

The only reason to go for a purple hole during a contest is if it's next to you and you just finished up your current hole.

More things to make (fashion/transmute stuff in particular) would be good, but we also need some large batch refining tasks.

i love the healing from the fawn but i would have thought for an event reward plus ALL THE WORK that went into getting them you would of at least made them blue quality pets i cant get the last two skins as they unlock at 25 and the amount of astral's need to do that is beyond me and will be to many others so come on at least give us a upgrade to blue state for them.. it costs you nothing to do it

i mean we put allot of work in to getting them
sorry for grammar spelling punctuation but i am dyslexic i do my best sorry if it offends you

I realize this is a computer game and things can be changed, but to ask Cryptic to change things on the fly to meet your special needs regarding quality of loot, or to complain about the items in game is not very cool. In my opinion if you are not comfortable with the rewards that are given for having fun playing a game then maybe you should think twice upon doing them. Jus sayin'
The fawn and mimic both will be worth at least 300k AD if you show some patience and hang on to them for a while. If my math serves me right 300,000(AD) divided by approx. 3200(lights) = 93 AD per light gathered. That is pretty good and cannot see any reason to ASK FOR MOAR.

ok for one its not my needs many many people have said the same thing

also im not complaining i started my statement by saying I LOVE THE HEALING FROM THE FAWN thats not a complaint thats a compliment. you may have 650k diamonds or find it easy to get that but me and many others do not

my comment is meant to put across the fact that the pets ALL be it nice pets should be at least blue grade in an event not green

I thought that bot-combat tool was the random closure of the holes? The skeletons were just annoying and took far too long for my smaller new HR to kill, eating up valuable fishing time. Inevitably, every time a skelly popped up, my toon (high or low level toon) would lose 4-5 ranks every time, indicating that not everyone was combating a skelly but instead could fish instead of fight...

Sometimes, someone would fish out my hole while I had to fight skelly. Why am I forced to fight when others can fish that same hole?

And some toons were just, IDK, messed up. My GF, for some reason, had to fight every single skelly on the lake in order to be allowed to fish, regardless of whether or not the skelly was nearby or far, or whether or not I pulled it up from hole or someone else did. Only my GF had this bug, where not allowed to interact with holes whenever there was a skeleton on the lake.

Doesn't need to be blue. The main reason to ever upgrade a pet is the active bonuses now. Both the fawn and the mimic have a very nice active bonus. That means that the upgrade cost is going to help keep inflation down and keep everything else you (the op) want to use your ad for cheaper.

    edit*

Also unless you have a high hp pool, (sent gwf, etc) The healing from a CD will be higher for you.

No event reward pet has ever been higher then green. With the only exception being the launch day event, and I dont expect that to be repeated.

The events are optional bonuses. Optional being the key word. If you dont like the rewards, dont do them. But to expect optional events to reward folks with significant or powerful rewards. Is a bit unreasonable.

I recently acquired a Fawn Companion through your special Holyday Event.
Now, in general, I am quite pleased with The Fawnz, indeed, I splurged on a Blue Upgrade Package for it!
It does a fine job a keeping my Dwarf GF healed.
However, while adventuring through the Fens I have discovered one single glaring problem with this product.
    To Wit:
It is apparently entirely too delicious for it own good.
Groups of assorted Trolls and Gnomes are going to great lengths in their continued attempts to eat my Fawn, regularly swarming in from areas geographically separated from my current Combat by some distance.
Would it be possible to make my Fawn less delicious in some way? Perhaps with an unpleasant odor, or blinking red lights that spell out "Danger, Toxic Fawn, Do Not Eat"?
Or could it come equipped with at "Deliciousness" Slider, so we can decide for ourselves how delicious we want our Fawn to be? Maybe on a scale from 1 (Rat With Unidentified Forehead Growths) to 10 (Filet Mignon On The Hoof).
I look forward with great anticipation to any solutions to this vexing issue that you may implement in the Future.

Friend says this doesn't work, you cannot transfer the Lights purchased using Stars. Lights go directly into your currency tab and are bound/not mailable.

And skins are absolutely not needed. All cosmetics are 100% unneeded. Pay for Cosmetics is one of the least objectionable things to ever be in a cash shop.

That said no one upgrades for cosmetics they upgrade for the upgraded active effect. And considering the fawn is recovery and the mimic is defense those could be major upgrades for people.

They're not the first thing to be upgraded, r10's perfects extra are more important but people do upgrade these eventually and it keeps prices down by creating an ad sink.

    Alright, here's the skinny....

You seem to want the higher level skins without the AD cost to get them. There are some things that you just have to work for. Some of these players with surplus AD have been playing since launch/beta and have farmed salvageable gear, worked professions, sold stuff on AH, did dailies (all of them), invoked, all to have alot of AD for things like upgrading mounts and companions, not to mention other cosmetic things.
Then there are the people who aren't afraid to whip the credit card (or mom and dads credit card) and buy the stuff they want.
Either of these ways works to get what you need.

It seems frustrating after doing all the activities in the Winter Festival over and over again. But keep in mind that they have given you a free companion that boosts your recovery by 100, gives you a regen circle here and there, and cast regen on you after the fight if your a little low on HP, even during the fight.
But even at lvl 30, she'll be nothing more than a walking regen potion with better skins.

The Shower of Lights are tradeable (that was the case during Midsummer as well; but they don't seem to show at the AH - probably not associated with a category), but there is a bug currently so that the first Shower always gets turned into Simrils. Buy a stack of X and X-1 will be placed in your inventory and you can mail/trade them. But you can also buy items directly at the Simril store, because pretty much everything is BoE anyway.

What you can't do is trade the Stars so the only thing your main has to acquire itself are the scarfs (BoE) and the Winter Sled (BoE).

So with the help of a few ALTs you would theoretically have been able to cover your chars just by getting the daily Stars and without ever putting a pole into an ice hole.

But friend turned in two stars today, and all lights were added to his currency, none were mailable to other characters. So, ALT solution wouldn't work if you cannot get the lights from ALT to main character. (It did work for Midsummer, but apparently doesn'[t work the same way this time.)

Maybe he turned in the Stars separately. You will only get the Shower of Lights if you purchase a stack of more than one because one Star is automatically turned into Simrils. I just purchased five Showers: One was turned into 220 Simrils and four were placed into my inventory.

And again: You can also buy most of the items on your ALT, they are BoE.

Simply put, you knew the fawn was green before you worked hard for it. We all did. No matter how cool the pet is, it was always green. I put in over a week of work to get my fawn knowing this and I don't regret it at all. I did the same for several pigs in the summer. If all you want is a cosmetic change, pay for it like everyone else.

    Void Reaper - 60 CW
    Eliza Trickfoot - 60 TR
    Scarlet Maiden - 60 DC
    Timmy Orc-Bane - 60 GWF

. . .Just to note, this is a Bug that the Devs are aware of. As well, you'll sometimes automatically open more than one for I have boughten three at once before and the first two were automatically opened for me while the third was placed in my inventory.

It has ranged ai, it bounces all over the place, however it seems to create the least aggro of all the healer pets in my experience. Personally I think the ranged ai on the CD and Fawn are the best tweak they've done to companions since the games release.

It has ranged AI but melee level restoration. We need a companion AI update that includes commands (Come to me, Hold your ground, Keep your distance, etc.)

I give your post points for humour, but as has already been said, healing companions make a siren call for all things deadly. As charononus said the previous tweak was a definitive improvement.
