I thought it was a great deal. I was 100% F2P prior to getting some zen this weekend. I got FREE 10 bucks bonus zen and a FREE companion (no care for the mask but also free). Well worth it to take advantage of these types of promotions. edit: and then use the zen wisely

Sounds kinda like a controller to me.

Yeah, but it it sounds like another controller that doesn't gain the ability to control until rank 30. I hate when they do that. Though could be a striker still as others have control abilities.

So is there any official word that the companion can be reclaimed today following the downtime? For that matter can we also get Swordcoast adventures pretty please? :)

From the link in the first post in this thread:
Rewards will be available in-game to claim: December 12, 2013 at 12 P.M. PST (Pacific)

Edit: after reading that again it sounded like I was being a know it all or something. Simply trying to be helpful and informative.

I appreciate your help. I was aware of the initial date of the 12th, but was hoping for added confirmation since I didn't see anything in the patch notes/comments. As a side note, I hate sitting through the patch times impatiently.. even when I am at work :p

I was surprised it was not mentioned in the patch notes as well.

I here you on that

Received the Lion Mask, but I do not see the Companion on the Rewards Claim agent. So perhaps it will not activate until 3pm EST. Bummer.

I don't think the quickling companion was listed in the patch notes when it showed up.

Edit: Storm Rider is showing up for me now.

Would have been nice to know if the Storm Rider was male or female (was a bit hard to tell from the promo pic)
Turns out that (i think) it's female, which is a ****** because I named mine Legoland before summoning it ... Ah well.
Just got to wait till I get home to test it, and see which toon it suits best.
Is it finally a T5/U/T6 KDF Science Ship?

You should be able to discard the companion and claim again, and give it a name you prefer, since it is an account unlock.

Have you gone to the reward claim agent?

I don't know why the masks get mailed and the companions don't, but you need to go pick it up.

. . . . . Did you not see the pictures of her? In any case, as another user suggested; you can discard her and reclaim her through the Rewards Agent.

Oh yes I saw the pic, just dumb me didn't pay enough attention. It's no biggie really I cold just rename her (6K AD hmmm) or pick her up again, but I'm the type of person that forces myself to live with my mistakes and learn to deal with them, like rolling the bad race for a toon, or incorrectly spending points, If I make a mistake, I learn to adjust and make the best i can of it, I find it more fun and challenging that way, especially in DnD, because you actually CAN adjust ... Just me maybe.

I haven't had a real chance to try her out yet, been running her with my latest DC, who's about lvl 20, she doesn't seem to generate a lot of aggro, and she seems a bit slow to start shooting, but I do like her comments when zoning, its a refreshing change from the 3.5 gazillion times you hear the CD's "How can i aid you?".

/. . . . . She seems to have some good AI, as she backs away and tries to get combat advantage. She looks pretty cool too! Love her bow!

Too true, and once she gets going, I noticed she does move around a lot, probably programmed to try to get CA like you say ...

Though, I think they secwetwy tweek'ed all the companion AI with MOD2 ... o.0 ...

I would like to see her with a 'relaxed' pose, like leaning on the bow, one foot on top of the other ... And I can't wait to see her upgraded armor, gonna spend the next couple of days leveling her. (eww, does that sound ... creepy???)

Unfortunately, her ranged AI pretty much has her pulling everything nearby, as she backs into new mobs while trying to maintain her distance from whatever I'm already fighting. She's going back in the bag once fully levelled and probably never coming out again.
