T1 dg can be skipped to the last boss.
While you run like crazy to get the buffs, allies and bases at pvp, some ppl just chill! You depend on too many people...
Its boring, there's no connection, at least for me, betwen so many players! I just run around getting chests and killing some boring adds to get a NOT challenging dg.
Is this end game? =\

In Gauntlgrym, you win but you lose.
(My team has won three consecutive pvps in GG by a landslide, yet the other faction won the Event every time)
The catapults are utterly useless. Make them do more damage or there's no point in working on them over the giant. Oh yes, and the T2 dungeon. Yet another boss fight where the only difficulty is add control. How refreshing!
I have not played any GG since it came back. I am *hoping* that you have fixed the rewards to apply properly. However, I know my issues with it have not been resolved. You are still a 5 man group with 15 randoms. There is no coordination. Instead, people just zerg around the map in a giant group. We need 20 man queues. You required a guild to get into a GG, so let us run as a guild. We should also be able to match up against other guilds or premades. This would make the pvp portion much more fun.
Phase 1) Farming for stuff is stupid and boring. I was hoping this would be more integrated pvp and pve. Perhaps a conquest map with a mini-boss and a main boss. The towers would affect the difficulty of the main boss and killing the mini boss would give us an easier time of taking down the towers, or something like that. At least give us a boss fight or something to do besides simply farming. BORING.
Phase 2) As mentioned, we need 20 man queues or a change to the gametype. Zerging with randoms is lame as hell.
Phase 3) Super simple dungeons with loot pinatas at the end. I do need some of these drops, especially the t2 weapons, but it's not worth wasting 2 hours and 40 minutes of my life for a *chance* at t2 loot.
The best of GG is the design of the dungeons, fast, not swarmed of mobs, smooth and quick, like a slightly longer skirmish, yeah. dwarf king is add control, but has some twist with the "huge defense low dmg" / "low defense huge damage".
Yeah, the first 2 parts are kinda annoying, seem like a waste of time... giving rewards for scoring is a must, also make those 20 min, not 30...
Overall, the feel is the same that the overall feel of the game... there is a diamond somewhere, but is so raw and you have the feeling that the ones on charge of polishing it are making it with a sledge hammer... GG could be like this game... a lot better, brilliant... yet is "meh"

Need to be given participation GG coins. The more you do in the PVE sector the more coins you get. Winner should also get a bonus.
Otherwise its just going to become a do 1 thing then afk fest.

I actually enjoy the entire thing. During the first Phase it could be a bit confusing. Like many I was running around trying to cap as much as I could. It was an open setting where you could play with a massive amount of people. I like the design for PVE and PVP. My only complaint if its anything, is the final boss on T2 Dungeons.
I think I just haven't beat it yet, it seems keep bringing up ads non stop. The rest of game feels great. It would be really good, if we knew in advance then the game would be launching GG, instead of just sitting there waiting for it to be so. In short. I think its a really good design.
I wish it game better gear the vendors. Their orb is equal to one I currently have, and we knew in advance the next time it would pop up.
Loot is horrible.. give us a t2 in the chest ontop of the coins. Its WAYYYYYY too long for that shabby loot.
It really really felt like such a waste of time to do the whole thing and esentially get a few coins. i think 5 or 6 and nothing else! especially as the gear goes for 75 a piece! - and the stats are messed up.. if you want us to play it, include actual loot
Not had a chance to play it yet as its guild only and you havent implemented a way to get rid of inactive leaders from guilds.

Repost from Reddit /r/neverwinter
So hopefully most of you have gotten to experience GG now. Personally I found the entire experience to be underwhelming because of some simple obvious things that I would like to see changed.
It doesn't matter how good you do, so why do it? Last night we won 3500 to 1000, and still got stuck into a T1. I was told that your performance doesn't matter, it is the servers performance in the event. This is madness. As we ran through on autopilot in the T1 our whole group was wondering why the hell we even bothered to try. Why bother other than to make a jump macro and hop every 5 seconds in pve, and see what random dungeon you end up in? We fought really hard, and played very hard, and did very well. Someone we weren't grouped with, were not guilded with, did not know, and could not control apparently was a botter, or just awful in their pvp in a completely different instance. If a group wins its 20v20 pvp they should get to go into the t2. Socialism isn't fun in video games since the results are felt as just arbitrary, you can debate it's merits in real life elsewhere.
PVE is way too easy for the amount of people in it. Should there be trash mobs that are easy to clear for undergeared players? Sure. But there should also be epic level dragon type monsters that a group can take down for a higher count of drops. Farming trash isn't that fun to be honest.
PVP is too zergy. Adding casters that kick people off their horses, and monsters that never lose aggro, and respawn a lot would add another dimension to the fight. Also releasing groups in 5 man bursts through separate gates would do some good in keeping the initial zerg force spread out.
What we had all hoped (in my guild at least) was this was going to be an amazing guild function where guilds or alliances would be able to field 20 people into pvp, and 20 people into pve, and test our personal mettle, not the mettle of the collective hive.
Not getting into pvp makes me sad
No ability to guild Vs guild makes me sad
Oh and in the dungeons people are just training all the mobs to the end, and killing the end boss in less than 10 minutes. You can pharm the end bosses without fighting your way through, thus destroying the content.
A couple of Gauntlgryms now and already I feel like it is worthless to play the instance. I really LOVE the PvP. The announcements of the instance really poorly represented what it was going to be.
When I read the announcement it said 20 v 20. Phase 1 gather for advantage in PvP, Phase 2 PvP and the winner wins the ability to enter tier 2 instance.
The reality. 20 v 20 per zone... your entire side vs the other entire side. Sorry if you picked the wrong side because now you will never win even if you win your pvp/gathering every time. Also PvP seems to have absolutely no effect on the end result.
And then you get into the last instance and... 5 man.
How to fix it?
Make your individual ZONE victory decide who gets into the Tier 2. As it is there is zero incentive to play (on the side I've chosen. To be honest I'm not sure why everyone didn't pick their side based on who has the awesome eyepatch) except it's the only way to do that type of PvP.
The other way to fix it? Give better stat rewards for badges. The stat sets are just bad
edit: oh yeah, and please for the love of Kelemvor, learn how to make a boss fight hard by doing something OTHER than spawning more adds. There are other options, please give us variety.

I've seen the question "Is this endgame" repeatedly. If it is, why can we only do it during an event?
I can understand if you made the T2 dungeon only in the event, but at least let us do the main GG portion whenever we want to give our 60's something to do.
And add in PvP levels/titles/progression.
EDIT - Oh and a way to help with the event side - make a 20 man raid dungeon available only during the event. Raids aren't everyone's thing, but it would at least make people want to do it - especially as a 20 man group, not just 4x5man groups of randoms with no co-ordination.

Some things that should be addressed:
- You should get Grym coins at the end of the game. Period. Even if you didn't do PvP. It's unfair that 1/3rd of the team gets to PvP, and the other 2/3rd's are screwed to farm for the next 30 minutes.
- Put a GS requirement on the crypts. I just got out of Dwarf King after we gave up, because our rogue was so bad we just couldn't do DPS on the boss.
- You should get Crym coins at the start of the crypts. Period. Its unfair to throw 5 people into a dungeon without GS requirements and expect them to defeat a difficult boss for 5 coins and only 1 loot drop.
TL;DR - we should not be punished for having bad teammates. Our rewards depend entirely on our teams performance and should not hold back the good players just because of a few people who don't know how to play the game.
No. Because there's no point. Get tier 2 pvp gear with terrible stat allowances, or get worse-than-CN-gear in a dungeon, if you get lucky enough to actually "win" and get to the "t2" dungeon.
I tried out GG on the test shard weeks ago, and it's been a while since I've logged into this game, but it's not necessary (see: forums) to do so to see you guys still don't know how to introduce content correctly, or balance classes.
*sigh*
I was really hoping your game could at least hold my attention until FF14/ESO/EQN came out. Have fun with my $200+.

I'm a PvE guy, so I can't speak for the PvP part.
Phase 1 - Boring. Either I kill duergar, collect broken weapons and turn them in for half an hour or I kill duergar, collect harnesses and turn them in for half an hour. Sure there is a duergar/devil thingie to kill and you have to kill the elementals before you can start collecting x item, but it is two sides of the same coin and boring. It needs more variety.
Phase 2 - Now there is some variety. Different things to do over the course of the half hour. The final part of it is buggy though. The carts seem to get stuck and won't move off the tracks for the next one. I have also had my elemental drops disappear on me before I could turn them in. I like this much better than phase 1.
Phase 3 - I like the boss fight mechanics here with them having multiple forms that act differently.
Rewards - Not that great. Phase 1 and 2 need something for time put in besides the shares needed to get into phase 3. Maybe some coins from there as well. If we are just going to get coins out of the chest, then there needs to be more drops from the last boss to even that out. I would also like to see unique items with unique looks coming from the bosses that can't be bought with grym coins or glory.

I have not played GG because I am not in a guild. I'm really not sure why this requirement is in place. Did Cryptic ever explain why players need to be in a guild to experience this content?

They probably read something where people that are in a group in a mmo are more likely to stay with the game and spend money, So they force you into that situation.

Because they don't know another way to align players to a faction? Wouldn't count it out.

I'm curious about something. How are we supposed to know when this dungeon starts. Do people know exactly when to be there. Normally I'm just there waiting till a larger crowd of people show up. How exactly does that work.
I havnt tried it not in a guild. Like seriously you people suck at development. During character creation or when you turn 60 give us the option to pick a fraction what the hell is so hard about programming that really people come on. What a joke
And from what everyone says about it so far it really is a joke
I'm curious about something. How are we supposed to know when this dungeon starts. Do people know exactly when to be there. Normally I'm just there waiting till a larger crowd of people show up. How exactly does that work.
It's marked as an event like dungeon delves, professions, foundry, etc.
To begin I would like to state my numero uno disclaimer... I heart this game long time. I will continue to play because I have enjoyed the Forgotten Realms universe since I was a child. Seriously.
That being said, there are a number of things for Gauntlgrym that you can/should do to improve the desire to enjoy this (visually) amazing instance...
1. There needs to be more rewards for 90 minutes of a players time then 8-12 (running end Dungeon twice) and a single T1/T2 loot for 5 players. Really, it needs to be WORTH the time to do this instance repeatedly.
2. The 20v20 PvP? I've been in the instance 3 times, and never have I made the PvP because 1 out of the 20 people click "No" for whatever random reason. It sucks. Period. Not sure what can be done to fix that, maybe allow the PvP map open for more then just the 30 min window?
3. Please create a smaller PvP map of Gauntlgrym to compliment Hotenow/Rivenscar Ruins for generic PvP. We need more maps there...
Just some ideas, and from a person who will return, either way, I hope they are taken to heart.
I personally love it, so much to grind in such a short period. I do not do the pvp part, I am part of the support team back doing the Food, Giant, relics and Catapults. I have been in the t1 Dungeon as well as the t2 Dungeon granted the t2 dungeon we did not get to complete as servers went down as we were in the middle of battle, for maintenance. However I love GG, I am one who likes to explore stuff, and have fun, and I do not just hack and slash more often then not. however, I love how it is timed, and how you have to do so many things to win certain things for your faction. I personally am not one who "rushes" through levels and through content, I take my time and enjoy it, however in GG it is fun fast paced and makes you watch where your going so you dont fall in the water or lava. So I for one am loving it!
Let me start by saying I love GG. I love the newness of it, the slightly different mechanic of it (I'm talking overall not dungeons, I agree that the dungeons are just another add fest) and the idea that you need to use tactics and coordination. Not everyone understands this part yet so I can understand the frustration in not being able to queue in guild groups of 20 however, smaller guilds such as the one I belong to would have problems with this feature so perhaps leaving it the same way the dungeon queues are now is the answer there...yes you can party up and enter in a large guild group of 20 OR you can queue up singally and be put in a pug group of 20.
There are a lot of good suggestions in this thread so I'm not going to rehash WHY I think they are good I'll just list a few:
Rewards given for different achievements during the event...most damage dealt etc
Making the first two phases completable any time with specific times set up for final dungeons
Making the chest rewards at the end more worthwhile with either gear, rare enchants or whatever
Giving Grym Coins as part of the achievement system, as it stands now they are now better than the seals. By the time you have enough coins to purchase anything from the coin vendor your gear is probably already better than what he sells
One thing I will say is while I sort of like the basic mechanic for Phase 2 where people run PvP while others run support what I *thought* was going to happen was that we would have to compete with the other team to collect the stuff we needed. Meaning we would all be running around in the same space collecting stuff AND trying to take down the other side.
You asked for feedback so that's just my two cents. Overall I'm still loving GG but there is always room for improvement and so far I've seen a lot of suggestions in this thread that make sense and that I agree with that could improve the feel of GG overall.

Grym is a love-hate of mine. I love the first 2 phases of the event, this mix of fast pace, smack them up, collect the shinny madness that much different from the normal fallow the dungeon path. I cheered as I noticed that actually as we collected items there was viable indication of what we was doing in some parts, food pile growing, oh my, there need to be more of this type of detail in all games.
Sadly Grym fell so short of my expectations at the same time, I don't think I will run it again unless I hate myself so much I want to grind for nothing. I want the set, but I don't see myself being able to get it, the set times of such a long event makes it hard to be able to stay active that whole time, which it is needed if you want to gain your coins. You should get a coin or two for doing the phases, and the rights to join the Crypts to stay even after the event to be used later. As someone who earned them, but was unable to finish their run (We couldn't even scratch the T2 Boss without dying horribly) it was hard to log on today seeing that I had nothing for my efforts, I hoped when I saw the Delve was on I could join in a T1 run, only to notice I could not because I wasn't apart of the earlier phases and the only "reward" I gained from my earlier events had disappeared from my inventory. That hurt. I do hope you guys can find a way to make it worth someone setting up their life scheduled to join it, or like some of the other timed events find a way to make it as a incentive like the bonus PVP glory, and not I should only do this, when there is a bonus for it.
Its hard, and a bit sad, I love Cryptic, please stop being silly, I love your year long bugs, I love your light hearted games, please be my Crypic that always was fair and balanced the best they could. Please your MMO's only hope.
I used to play a lot of this game, and i really liked it, today i logged on, played for an hour or so and just felt like i am done with it. the problem is, there is actually nothing worthwhile to do. there is no progression anymore and the one thing that mght have changed something about it was gg.. and gg is just bad. the loot does not make it worthwhile to do it. it takes way too long to grind items that are actually outclassed by the ones in the game already. the whole 3 phases all together take way too long. then, getting into the "better" crypt - which is just annoying as hell becasue it takes forever and does not provide better loot than the t1, so, everybody will end up playing the t1 3 times instead for the coins - does not connect with your individual contribution...
i had a great time with the game, and i loved it for what it was.. but there is no endgame, gg is really really disappointing.
I dont mean to whine too much, just want to give you feedback on why i wont log on anymore till module 1 is released. maybe by then the game has changed and exploits/no content isnt as big a problem anymore. - but gg is just horribly bad... make the annoying first 2 phases 10 mins each or make it possible to queue for the parts individually..
The PVE last instance is very fun...not exactly challenging but fun. The last boss is pretty straight forward, I do think the damage needs a LITTLE buff but other than that its not bad. I think more PvP is better. So for example have less things to collect but make it OPEN PVP so there's more fight for the materials to get to the last boss. Be a lot more fun and a lot quicker. lets say its 45mins-1h OPEN PvP the team with the most parts then goes to the PVE instance that way the entire of GG would take about 1h 30mins but be a lot more entertaining.

That can't be it, all it takes is one small field on each characters database entry.
(My team has won three consecutive pvps in GG by a landslide, yet the other faction won the Event every time)
Something similar happened to me today , the first GG I did I ended up with both scrolls needed to enter the dungeons but the T1 one was the only one available for me then later I was on the winning side but ended up with only 1 scroll so could only enter the T1 dungeon even though the Dwarf king one was available to me ,and yes , I had fully participated in the PvE and PvP phases , makes no sense to me lol

Please your MMO's only hope.
i had a great time with the game, and i loved it for what it was.. but there is no endgame, gg is really really disappointing.
