Ranger, Monk, Paladin, etc... did 4th edition d&d really only have 5 classes cause that would be terribad.
Why make 2 fighter classes, 1 a tank and 1 a dps??? why not do it like d&d should be, I'm a fighter i can grab my shield and sword and tank for you guys or if you want i can grab my 2handed sword and dps.
or hey im a magic user should i memorize my dps spells, or should i focus on bufffing?? etc..
someone please tell me they are going to add the dungeons and dragons classes!
They have stated that more classes are being added over time. Shortly after launch they are adding the 6th and 7th class, which many of us believe to be the Ranger and Warlord. If you use the search function you will be able to find this information
That's not a good way to get people to help you with your questions, Touzan.
This is just my opinion, but I would recommend you be polite and have questions, which doesn't provide the community with an instant image that you are just an MMO jumper with little to no knowledge of D&D (checking wikipedia doesn't count) or the inability to use the search feature of a forum.
You will find that the Neverwinter community is not like you typical MMO community.
So, umm... Avenging or Protecting Paladin? I'd prefer the Avenging palading myself by I'll settle for any Palading class at this point:D
I have to say I would probably prefer an avenging also. Initially I thought protecting, but with the Guardian and GWF, I see no real need for another defender. Plus they can always bring the protecting later.
Anything but Druid.... for 3 years+ I heard everyone scream in DDO about how they wanted to be a Druid. The spells and abilities did not translate well and almost no one plays one anymore.
I would rather see a Professional Shoe Lace Arranger then a freaking druid.
Sadly, this may not be the game for you. But do not despair! Give Penny Arcade, On The Rain-Slick Precipice Of Darkness III a try! They have this class! For Reaslies! It's called the Cordwainer!
Sorry, couldn't resist. Have to agree with ya on the Druid. I've yet to see a good translation. Not that I'm averse to them trying, maybe let it slide until the roster has been filled out with some more classes that are more readily translatable from the PnP Game.

If GWF is still a Defender then the Avenging Paladin would still be one as well.
I too would prefer Avenging though, really milk the Smite Evil flavor of the Paladin instead of another sword&board. They've already got GF and they are planning a mace&shield Battle Cleric so...

Well it is not really a defender, it is a pretend one! With pseudo like defender capabilities except threat... but hey we have AoE damage like a controller! But not much actual AoE control (only dailies for prone).... but hey we have movement of a striker.... but not the damage of one.... Yeah, GWF needs some love but there is a lot of potential there. I am playing one in live because it is the closest thing to a dps plate in this game.
I have played 2e and 3e variations of ultimate ginsu fighters. From the heavy sickles and great axe builds to the dual katana ones. I have to say, that 4e took a great big whizz all over fighters. In DDO I played a Kensaii Fighter with dual khopesh swords. In WoW I played a Ret Paladin. In LotRO a Captain. I may reroll a ranger if they put a tempest style in but I prefer the big hitter weapons. So in NWO a GWF it is. At first I was all offense, I am not so sure if I will go that way or not. Part of me wants to try and be an add tank, but without any on demand threat gen... it just seems off as a class right now. Not to mention that there is no AoE threat. The feat that adds damage and threat to come and get it and daring shout is a joke. I would get more threat and damage with a non feat anything else that does AoE damage. So right now I just sit here and change my mind every 5 minutes about what to do with the GWF. Wishing there was a true, beefy, damage class in the game that actually felt like they wore armor.
The Monk exists in the 4th Edition. Basically, it's a single-target dps striker with high mobility. Weapons are actually more of an option now, but I think it's still mostly an unarmed class. But yes, ask Gilrmn.
I'd love an archer, though a proper dps caster would also be a good addition (the rogue is the only real striker class). But yes, I'd jump on an archer ranger.
Have to agree with ya on the Druid. I've yet to see a good translation.
I liked druids in NWN1 and 2, and that's coming from somebody who hates the idea of turning into animals and scratching people. I just played them like a melee ranger with much more emphasis on buffs, spells and pets. That said they are not anywhere near my list of most wanted classes.
We never get any of the cool classes, always the generic warrior/rogue/wizard/cleric. Where's the Psion? Swordmage? Seeker? And hell yes to vampires.
This game is in dire need of an archer class. Melee and casters are covered.
I agree it needs an archer but i dont feel as though casters are covered, at least not until we get a pewpew one (hope warlock will be this and released soon).

I would love that, especially the shapeshifter. This would instantly become my "main" character.
I can still move.
I can still fight.
I will never give up!
Trying to convince my friends to play, the lack of both classes and appealing classes is proving quite an impediment.
At your local campus registrar! LoL Sowwy! *ducks*

Strangely enough, 'vampire' is actually a class in 4e.

Lies. The large class variety is my favorite thing about D&D games.
