Neverwinter is described in many ways, in different lengths, perspectives, and ideas. It is what you make of it that for sure, but that doesn't really answer the question does it...
Neverwinter is a special somewhere that you and I can go. Little prerequisite to meet so bring some friends including me. When in life gets troubled or you are looking for some re-leaf. Drift away to this broken world, where warriors and wizards compete. When you feel you can accomplish anything in life, here lies an opportunity. To save a people from a dangerous threat, the fulfillment will be yours to keep.
Neverwinter is not just a city but a dream you see... The Jewel Of The North they say... The City Of Skilled Hands...
The potential we have in this special land is great for each and every one of us.
Neverwinter is... at last... The world we've never had.
To Live, To Fight, To Explore, To Craft, To Trade, To Befriend, To Save...
*** I dont know which picture looks better, but that you see is the Jewel of the North... Ever being threated by the evils or nightmares forever real. Each class has a role to play... UNITED WE GIVE THE CITY ITS TITLE "THE CITY OF SKILLED HANDS"

Neverwinter
The place where young and old, short and tall delve into a vast fantasy adventure of the classic tales that only Dungeons and Dragons could bring. Prepare your party and brace yourself for venturing down treacherous paths into dungeons and hideouts full of evil minotaurs, ghouls, orcs, beholders and many more creatures waiting for so much as a whisper to charge into attack. If you survive and venture forth, you may even encounter a mighty dragon! Not many live to see the days following the fire of a dragon's breath. Are you powerful enough to face such a beast? Then prove your worth and join in on the journey through Neverwinter.
Neverwinter is the delicious combination of pancakes, waffles, maple syrup and cinnamon butter all topped with a pile of whipped creme. This sugary contraption is sweet enough to entice anyone, but only those with the proper stomach can truly enjoy all the different aspects of it.
(I'm no artist and cant create/draw/do much of anything without money. So this imagery will have to do.)
NeverWinter is a book full of blank pages that we fill with our tales adventure, foundry creations, friends we have made, enemies we have slain, history is made every day & we are the writers

Neverwinter is... Death for the meek, Glory for the bold, Danger for all, and Riches & Swag for Jade!
This city promises death for the meek, glory for the bold, danger for all, and riches for Jade! Elven Trickster Rogue: Two-bladed elf, tons of stabby stabby and that sort of thing...

With the sun rising behind,
and the city rising to my left,
the sea glistening before me,
I turn south to see Luskan
gleaming in the dawn.
From here, I will leave
the coast behind as I turn
to look to the lands I have
read about.
My eyes fill with wonder at
the possibility of seeing the places
I have read about. I watch
the last star fade from sight.
I wonder...can I visit
Longsaddle? Perhaps meet the
brotherly wizards there? What
surprises might they have in mind for
one such as me?
I would love to cross the bridge of
opposite! Or see a stable full
of shrunken horses!
Further inland, I could visit
Silverymoon. The Moonbridge would be
amazing to see! Or...maybe not see...
Could I meet the Lady Alustriel?
She is the most mystical
Lady in the north and it would be
amazing to meet her!
To go even further...do you
think Elminster would cast a giant
fireball the size of the sun?
It would be fascinating to meet
the great wizard of Shadowdale!
Or...perhaps...I'll follow the
coast. I could go to Waterdeep
and further south to Baldur's Gate.
What about sailing for the
Moonshaes?
With the sun rising behind,
and Luskan to my left...
I could go anywhere, I only
need begin.

Neverwinter is a place I visit from time to time. It is my home away from home. It is where I go for drink and adventure. It is where my story comes to life. I am the hero, I am the master, the dragon slayer. It is where my wildest dreams come true, and face and conquer my worst nightmares. It is a place of family, community, creativity and adventure. It is a place where you discover who you really are.
Neverwinter is - enough inspiration to get me to paint a tiefling on an egg.
I guess it is what Neverwinter is to me, it is a source of inspiration, even if it means it winds up on an egg. And in this case, it totally did. Because the games not out yet, and it was easter weekend and what the hey.
My tiefling Easter egg i painted just for you guys on easter (I also posted it over on the fan art forums here )
What is Neverwinter? To me Neverwinter is over 25+ years of fun and fantasy... Waging battle in the Pools of Radiance and fighting the Curse of Azure Bonds to Hillsfar. Facing my first taste of true multiplayer online battle in Dark Sun Online the Crimson Sand. Later I joined the Flaming Fist seeking Sarevok in the Sword Coast region... I adventured through Baldurs Gate for quite sometime but oftentimes ventured to Easthaven and eventually faced an epic battle where my party and I defeated Poquelin who had transformed to a hideous devil Belhifet. Finally Lady Aribeth beckoned for my aid... and Neverwinter has been my home ever since. The rest? well that will be written April 25th, 2013

Looks better on my site with my css working ..... oh well.
And as for a summation:
From the fantastic fantasy city to the dark dungeon depths Neverwinter is exactly what a D&D MMORPG should be!
It is also on my DA here if you want to see the full sized image.

The “Jewel of the North”,
From which legends spring forth,
Testing their worth
An endless wellspring of dreams.
The name shouts "forever
Shall we guard her in fierce weather,
And raise up her standard,
Upon the edge of the wilds".
